Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

The ability to delete your own messages and notifications should be a basic and standard feature. I'm very frustrated I don't have this option . I'm seriously considering closing my account.

Messages older than 30 days will be deleted if you log out of the app and then log back in.
Message management in this app is terrible, one should be able to choose which messages to keep or delete and be able to delete them at any time within the app.

Notification (and other) messages should be able to be deleted, and it should be automatic after xx number of days (user configurable). This functionality should have been included in the very first release of any Fitbit app.  The programmer should have known to include deletion when they implemented the notifications (and other messages) in the first place, and the tester should have reported the problem when they saw the notifications and messages piling up uncontrollably.

Suggestion: Please make a configurable item that allows all notification messages (and the other messages!) to automatically be deleted after XX number of days?  Like every good email spam folder or trash folder has. I really don't want to have to remember to manually delete them periodically.  Automatically deleted after a time is best, with perhaps the additional capability of manually deleting any of them at any time.

Please implement this core functionality fix soon!   Thanks.

Great idea. Now try getting Fitbit to implement.

It would be nice to have functionality to view "sent" messages and to delete messages "received" and future "sent" messages. Sometimes I receive replies to which I don't recall the context in which case it would be nice to view the original sent message. Functionality to delete messages just makes sense ~ some messages are just not worth keeping.

It would be helpful to have facility in Fitbit tracker/watch to delete messages/notifications.

It is insane Fitbit didn't consider the need to delte in-app notifications. I have never seen this overlooked in any other app I've ever used. Get on the stick and fix this, folks! I don't need my phone's memory clogged up with notifications from a year ago that I am 500 steps away from my goal.

Agreed. But Fitbit does not care

OR how about not only being able to delete those messages, but choose not to receive them? I do not need my app to tell me anything about my progress or how I've "almost made it." Seems like a pretty easy fix too so not sure why customers have to beg and plead for something that only makes sense. No one wants wasted junk on their phones

I'd really like to get rid of those. I have what seems like a million of them, and once read those things no longer have value to me. Delete in app notifications, which are repeats that the phone gives me live, and I can delete.

Please make these useless notifications go away. I would much prefer you give me an option to just turn them off.

Once I deduced that a lot of stuff was in fact being kept on the servers, I tried to find the options or controls for these notifications and could not - if you know where they are, please let us know.

Thanks to jgri I went to my online dashboard and found that you can select the notifications you receive in the settings. It looks like it should work. I'll know by tomorrow.

I really can't remember.  I do know I logged into www.fitbit.com, logged into my account then started to navigate.  Somehow I came across a list of options with check boxes that I was able to uncheck.  So I think the answer is in your account located on fitbit page.  I'm giving up on fitbit and moving on to other devices which many sell for under $50.00 and are just as good.  I found some trackers for $25.00 and if they break fine throw them away and buy another one.  Good luck with locating the check off page in your account.  I would try to locate but fitbit suspended my account for to many complaints.  take care

Would be great if we could manually delete the messages we receive on the dashboard. They don't clear out after 30 days.

You can if you go online and turn them off in the settings i read someone else’s post on here and did that and have not had any notifications since. I don’t remember where in the settings but it is there

you will have to log into fitbit web page then log into your account, from there you will have to navigate through the pages to find the check off list.
