Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Please add the ability to delete posts (stuff on the community feed page) from friends and messages, once read. Its frustrating to see OLD stuff for months.

I would prefer to have a swipe option to delete all messages. For example when messages open you can swipe to bring a menu up to delete all stored messages rather than going all the way to the bottom of the messages to remove them, or move the option to the top.  I am aware that swiping left removes individual messages.

It would be great if there was a way to manually delete messages once you have read them.  Finding a way to click on it or push one of the buttons on the side to at least give the option to delete the message, so you are not scrolling through several messages to get to the new one. This is for the Surge

So are you asking to have the clear all button moved?

Hi,
Yes, to the beginning of the messages. This would make things much easier
than having to scroll through everything.

I agree that we need the ability to delete comments and messages inside the app.  I also noted that when I  click the vote here button associated with this post  it decreases the number of votes.

I to know longer need notifications piling up on my phone after the day is over. Please let us know how we can delete old notifications. They have no purpose after the day is over. I do not want to turn off notifications I just want to be able to clear the old ones. Please let us know that can be done soon it’s very annoying. Thank you.

Please update the app so we can delete Notifications! I don’t need to have them showing that I needed 400 more steps seven months ago, etc. Updates are quite frequently done, so please for all users fix this issue!

Try the steps below...to halt notifications

Log into your fitbit.com account

Click on the "cog" on the far right side of screen

You'll see "settings" click on it

Above your "personal info" is the word "settings" (it's blue) click on it

Scroll down to "notifications"

"Uncheck" all notifications you no longer wish to receive - mobile and/or email

     Uncheck "exercise goal milestones"

                     "Step goal milestones" and

                     " cheers and taunts"

And any other notifications that are annoying...click the "save" button at the bottom of the screen

Is ANYBODY at FitBit reading the thousands of comments regarding our in ability to delete the inane postings made by the company??

Please FREE your customers from this tyranny before WE all become EX-CUSTOMERS!!!!

That helps because the silly new ones are stopped, but the old ones are still there - which again is an absurd design fail on fitbit’s part.

I did turn off all notifications and it reduced them but I stil get about two per week on average— yes even in categories I turned off. The entire app is horribly designed apparently.

I have WAY too many notifications clogging up my iPhone! Pages of them! It appears I'm not alone and no one has any idea how to prevent or delete these. Please add option to stop them, or at least delete them!

Some notifications I may want to keep for more than 30 days, give us, the users the ability to keep or delete our messages....Please!

Ditto on pretty much every comment above. Phone is old and I need to optimize space.

The importance of the notification info is fleeting at best. There should be no reason to keep them on my phone.

Thanks for the great work otherwise

Thanks! I have every notification I have ever received from Fitbit since my first day in August 2016! I took one person‘s suggestion to go to the website and uncheck the various notifications. That will help in the future, but I have had to delete a number of apps on my phone due to lack of space. I am wondering if I could delete the Fitbit app from my phone and start fresh. Will my stats still be available? Any advice?

Hi

Yes I deleted my FitBit app for several days, then reinstalled it but was careful not to include notifications.

All of my data came back and I receive no new notifications (except a few that slip in somehow). But t still have all the old original (useless) notifications on my phone. Ugh

Soon I’ll have an Apple Watch

@Hermitprojects I'm going to assume. Our referring to the community notifications in the app.

The charge hr does not save memory, so no clear button is needed.

Your charge 2 doesn't save any notifications @Texasbabybee2, are you referring to the notifications in the Fitbit app?

Yes. Not the phone or message notifications, but the endless comments from Fitbit that continue to accumulate and never go away once they appear.

Do the Fitbit app developers even bother to read these comments ?
