Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Where are you seeing these notifications. You say the charge 2 is saving 300 of them but the charge 2 only will save a notification for 60 seconds.

Also the only notifications that get sent to the charge 2 are phone and texts. Bayou say this is not what you are referring to.

I have complained on other user blogs about notifications clogging up my phone. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling only to find all the old notifications still there. Recently had small amount of luck working with @fitbitsupport on Twitter. But in the end they just said to keep complaining because someone somewhere is reading and counting up the metrics!

Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of the notifications unless Fitbit allows it

Please add a delete button to the notification page in the app. I have no need nor interest in seeing month old notifications. Let us streamline our use to fit our needs. Thanks!

Hi @LZeeW and commenters! That’s an interesting idea and could be useful for a lot of users (297 comments) Smiley Surprised, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

You can stop these by changing your settings by logging into your account @Fitbit.com I turned them off so I do not get any, but I still can not delete what's there.

Suggestion - join the hordes complaining on every support blog there is for Fitbit. There is no way to delete until they do you the favor of deleting 100 of them - and then it starts all over again. They don’t care if they clog up our phones and tablets. Just keep complaining till they get sick of complaints and Fix It Fitbit!!!! 😡

I can tell you how to stop the notifications but not how to remove them, at you won't get any more.
Log on to your account with the web browser and not the app. In the right hand corner is a gear, click on that. It should open to personal info, underneath that is notifications click on that and then you can turn all the notifications off. This will not get rid of the old notifications but no new ones will be seen.
Hopes this helps, I haven't had any since I did this 11/11/17.

I would also like to have the option to delete some older notifications on the Fitbit app. I would also like it if there was a picture by the notifications instead of just the “…” you see by the Notification messages (The actual notifications under “Notifications” not the personal messages sent by friends).

I believe that Fitbit users should be able to do the following

1. Delete all messages and notifications on their app or web pape

2. Stop receiving notifications from someone they reponed to and from others who are responding to same message.

Thanks for considering my request

You can't delete them, but you can stop them by going to your account not the app. Click on the gear icon and then notifications and decide what notifications you want, I stopped all of them except emails. Haven't gotten a notification in months.

I agree. I have those ‘cute?’ Messages from Fitbit that have been on my phone app since June 30 of 2017. What a waste of space! I really want them gone.

I know, does not seem to be a way to remove them...
Now I have to sign in every time I want to get on...so annoying......😊

Can we please have the option to delete old notifications !!!

for those that think you can’t turn them off, you can, On iPhone select settings, scroll down to Fitbit app, scroll down to notifications and turn off.

unfortunately I think this may also turn off text and phone call notifications, which where useful to receive on your wristband, not sure if it does as these notifications are to your handset from your phone?

only just turned notifications off so i’m Not sure.

Why is Fitbit explaining to us how to stop notifications on our phones?  Please read the posts!  We want to delete the notifications within your app.

I have NO idea why all the e-mails regarding deletion of in-app notices!

I sent a rather angry e-mail to FitBit several months ago and never got a response!

Frankly, I think FitBit did this specifically to ignore the user of the device!

Now I have an Apple Watch and crushed my FitBit.

All owners should do the same.

It’s because they won’t delete them! I’ve been trying since the first started. At least I stopped them from continuing.

Good luck with that, we’ve been wishing for that since they started and the powers that be continue to deny everyone’s request. The best one can do is stop them.
