Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

I agree and am going to suggest it for the fitbit2 but I very much doubt any notice will be taken. I emailed Fitbit to ask why they cannot be deleted and  they say that in order to introduce the delete feature they need a vote in favour of it.  Now I cannot see why it cannot be introduced anyway and those who want to delete these notifications can, and those who don;t just leave them on the phone.

Like me you probably have countless notifications on your phone from Fitbit which say something like "Well done - you've hit your target" or "Only another ..... steps to go".  These notifications are entirely separate from the those turned on or off in your phone's main settings.

These take up space on the phone and cannot be deleted.  I emailed Fitbit to ask why not and they say that in order to introduce the delete feature they need a vote in favour of it.  Now I cannot see why it cannot be introduced anyway and those who want to delete these notifications can, and those who don't just leave them on the phone.

I have contacted FITBIT - who tell me the notifications will be automatically be deleted at the end of each month - so wait and see - if they aren’t I’ll be back to them - I could be the pain of the month? !!!

I agree completely, I’ve turned the notifications off through the browser. I don’t get them but they’re still generated. You do know that Fitbit knows everything you do on the Fitbit and with these messages. My next fitness tracker will be an Apple Watch and when someone asks me to recommend my Fitbit I can’t.

Hi Vicki,
They never mentioned it to me in this email yesterday. You have a fellow fighter.

Yes but they DO NOT care😡. Not only that but they can get into the data on the app anytime they want to, I found that out when I had a problem. Also, ever notice when we reply it is hit or miss that it gets through? I don’t know how many “unexpected “ errors have occurred.

I called fitbit and asked not to send me anymore notifications. Nothing happened and then one day I looked and they were gone. I couldn’t believe myself. Kept going back to notifications and checked to see if they were still there, but they’re gone. I’m just lucky, I guess. I really thought the problems were fixed for everyone, I didn’t know the problem still exists. Very sorry y’all. I hope fitbit fix this problem for everyone. Good luck and good day y’all

Would FitBit please make it possible to delete the notifications on the app. I do not want my phone full of every notification of how close I am to reaching my goal or I crushed it. Just add the option to delete or turn off these notifications please.  Talking about the ones that are in the app on the bottom right next to Dashboard, Challenges, Guidamnce and Community

Sorry @Landlubber I'm not sure what you are asking. The only notifications the Flex 2 is able to give are flashing lights.

Are you referring to deleting the notifications that are in the app. I suggest adding your vote there.

Hi Texasbabybee2,
I have stopped reading them in the vague hope that if I don't look thy will not take up space. I don't wAnt them, didn't ask for them, can only hope that one day the "clever" boys at FB will let us get rid of them, or better still stop sending them. The weekly progress report are bad enough but at least I can delete them.

You can stop all notifications via the browser not the app. Log in, click on the gear in the right hand corner scroll down to notifications and turn off whatever you want. You won't get them anymore.

Just logged out of my Fitbit app on iPhone.  When I logged in again, all of my year-old notifications were gone!  Easy fix to this issue.  Surprised that Fitbit help hasn't suggested it.
