Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

It did not work for me either.  If so many Fitbit users are unhappy with the inability to permanent delete notifications, why have the developers not address this issue?

I first went into App Store to see if update was available but Fitbit app had already been updated several weeks ago. Then went into Fitbit app on iPhone & found where I could log off. Did that, waited a couple minutes, logged on again. Old notifications were gone!

Thank you - tried it but the dratted things are still there, including those sent for an old Fitbit that I deleted from the account!

Hi Landlubber! Ahh the persistence of Fitbit notifications! I too have them lingering from an older device now living in a drawer! Unbelievable, ain’t it?? I’d say LOL except it’s too aggravating for that!

They have and back in September they said they would not do it. They said this is the way they want it.

I tried that too and it did not work. This seems to be hit or miss...for some people it does and others it does not.

Please urgently consider "delete option " for dashboard notifications .

Support advise that dashboard notifications 100 plus are automatically deleted but 100 and under remain on history .

This is unnecessary use of storage and user should have option to delete anytime.

thank you

Its like have an app from the dark ages! No delete option for notifications or messages???! Only option is to delete the account andditch the app.... very poor anyway

Unfortunately, Fitbit has denied me the ability to post comments! Too close to the truth, I guess!

Would not put it past them! After all just like Big Brother they know everything you do on your app and because there is a GPS they know where you’ve been.

Can’t do it....I’ve been told that you can by logging out then logging back on...BUT it works for some and not others. I’ve tried and been unsuccessful a few times.

I have stopped them coming by using the Fitbit Connect program on the laptop and unchecking the box in Notifications, fund under the Settings menu. However, this did not get rid of the old ones. To contact the company fitit-https://contact.fitbit.com has worked for me.

Luv the notifications but would luv them even more if I could delete them.  Come on you talented coders its as though you found a 98% solution and then just gave up.  Give us some control.  LOL!

I agree. I find these notifications repetitive and useless.  I stopped them in November but I can not delete the ones from August until I stopped them in November. Just delete them !!!

I love my Fitbit Flex 2 but I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish I were able to delete all the notifications; my phone is BURSTING with so much I just don’t need and I’m stressed that I’ve spent so much time ‘faffing’ with it!!!! I can SEE what I’ve done by looking at the dashboard - I don’t NEED messsges and notifications 😕 😨😭🤬

You can stop the notifications by logging on to your account on the web browser. Go to the gear icon open it , then go to notifications open that and you can turn off what you do not want from there. As for deleting them, I’ve complained since April and the wonderful powers that be at Fitbit ignore me and all others.

I struggle to believe that this is still an issue. This is ridiculous

These notifications in App need to be:-

  1. Acknowledged in Bulk
  2. Deleted individually
  3. Deleted in bulk

Just AMAZING that a tech company cannot or will not listen to it’s customers!

I agree and if they allowed a vote we know what our decision would be. I've complained about this since it first showed up on the app in February 2016!
