Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

You can turn them off though so no more clog the phone. Go the web browser, sign in click on the gear icon then notifications and turn off any and all you don’t want.

I would go with they just don’t care.

I go with they also don't need to, they've already got our money.

I’m on my third Fitbit, but when it stops working I will not buy a fourth. I will go to another brand because of the notification backlog.

And one wonders why they won’t listen to ? I also do NOT recommend Fitbit products to anyone who asks.

Interesting! It sounds like you have stopped getting messages! So I decided to check out my messages. I have messages from 31st July, 2017 to 1st February, 2018 on my Charge 2. The messages were spaced apart from one day to seven days, i.e. a new message coming every 1-7 days. I logged into settings on the website on 3rd February, 2018 and stopped notifications in my account there. Lo and behold! I have not received any new messages since 3rd February, 2018, on my Charge 2. So it seems I have managed to stop not only notifications but also messages, since today is 25th February, 2018- that’s 22 days of no messages! So it appears we can stop the messages (in our account on the website) which is at something! Now we just need to be able to delete past obsolete messages. It appears to be “under consideration”- see note at top of the posts. The wheel at last seems to be slowly (and hopefully, surely) turning!

Yes. I have finally managed to stop new ones. But had to use the full
desktop version in a web browser. The mobile version did not give me that
option (or it is very well hidden)
Now for the old messages ......

Liz (the moderator for Fitbit), wrote they are considering that we can delete messages only and not notifications. Not good enough... needs to be both!
Slow is the word, these useless notifications started February 27,2017, at least that's the first one I saw. And everyone turn off the notifications and message on the web you cannot do so on the app.

Allow us to delete Notifications from our Iphones.

Tell Liz Fitbit’s moderator for this and be emphatic. I received an update from her about 2 weeks ago, stating deleting messages was being considered and NOT notifications.

I have sent at least 15 comments to Fitbit regarding deletion of the 20 pages of notifications that I want to delete. I have received NO response. I have, however, mentioned legal action by customers and they quickly delete my comments and informed me that this issue will not be addressed.

Totally disgusted with this company and will now address this issue on Facebook!!

Do it on Twitter too! But they won’t listen, they don’t have to, they have our money and people continue to but Fitbits. I do NOT recommend Fitbit to anyone who asks due to the worse than poor customer service.

It would appear the only answer is to dump the FITBIT and get

a different one - there are now many on the market, so I’m having a look

I will.

Please add the ability to clear out old notifications from the Fitbit mobile app.

I use the flex 2 for swimming and steps.  I do not need notification of my progress via the notifications tab and want to be able to delete them at will.   Better yet select what notifications I do receive.

You can select what you need. Can’t get rid of them but you can be selective. Go to web browser, open your account, click on the gear, scroll down to notifications and pick and choose. Hope this helps.
Hope everyone knows that every exercise, daily activity stats are also saved. If you don’t believe it , go to the app and open the weekly exercise icon and you will find all your exercises from the 1st day you set up the Fitbit until now! These can not be deleted either.

I want to delete the notifications on my app. I currently have 227 dating back to March 27, 2017. Please fix this. A simple " Delete All Messages" space would be great.

We've been trying for that since 2/27/17! But Fitbit and Liz won't listen. This is worse than futile.

As liz as stated that deleting messages is “under consideration” NOT  notifications

there doesn’t seem much hope of her taking action on this persistent irritation.

We should not be forced to clog up ou phones, iPads etc. at the whim of people

wh choose to disregard us, who, after all are paying customers,

come on Liz - please respect us, as facilitate our wishes ie - TO REMOVE FACILE NOTIFICATIONS

I like many others agree with you. Liz, you need to listen to us, without us there is no Fitbit company. But obviously Fitbit does not give.......
