Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

There is no reason that there should be a notifications list of 100.  What I did 100 notifications ago (6 - 8 months in my case) is irrelevant to my current status.  It would seem like 30 (max 60) would be enough.  There should be a way to delete older notifications other than wait until there are a hundred and then they drop off.  Thank you.

You should check out the other items on your app, the data is still on it since the app was installed! I’ve received emails saying the most recent update took take of this. I checked, the last update was 4/19/18 and I have not noticed any difference. If anyone has please inform the rest of us.

I hate not being able to delete notifications.  They are clogging up my phone!

According to the message I received from Fitbit this morning, the next update should permit this. I'm not holding my breath.

That is what I understood. But, the update was not going to take place until May 24, 2018.

As I said, I'm not going to hold my breath for an update 3 weeks from now. When it comes we will all see if notifications can be deleted. But thanks for the date.

I'm trying to be optimistic that FitBit is going to honor this "pledge"!! If not WE all need to blanket Facebook to let EVERYONE that FitBit LIES!!

There are several threads with users complaining about the in-app notifications and I am one of them.  To me, they are absolutely useless.  We want to be able to delete them (with or without reading them).  I know each message is small, but it is still data clogging up my phone.

Now if the notifications and messages are kept on the server and are not on my phone, that only makes it a little better.  I am not the only one who wants to make these go away.  They are either clogging up my phone or clogging up your servers.

I continue to agree and I might add, check all the other daily, hourly data stored on the phone since the day you installed the app! They can not be deleted either, so it's not just notifications clogging your phone!

Please create a way to clear ALL past notifications regarding exercise goal on the iOS device!

yes, I viewed all of my notifications in the app and I still have over 200.  "This person responded to this person's post", etc.  I find that I have to click on each one separately to see the count go down, but the notification doesn't actually go away.  I want to be able to clear all old notifications without clicking on each one.

Maybe the much ballyhooed and anticipated update due May 24th will do the trick. I have my doubts.

I have the Fitbit Flex II, It stopped logging notifications as of April 1, 2018 however I am still not able to delete the historical data.  Fitbit claims as of this morning that they’re still working on it (wishful thinking!)

Having said that , I noticed that the Notifications option for Fitbit (in the iPhone Settings) is still on even though it stopped logging as of April 1st... ?

I have 10 months worth of notifications showing up in the app (Oct 17 - May 18).  This is an excessive number of notification.  We need a way to delete them from the app.

You can turn them off from the web browser. Open the gear in the top right corner, open notifications and turn off what you want. Won't delete any but you won't get any more. We're still waiting for the moderator to make a decision or the much anticipated update on 5/24 to do this.

Please add a feature to Delete Notifications that are received on your phone.  I-Phone and Android.

It is nice to receive these notifications, however it takes up space on my cell phone as they cannot be deleted.  A swipe to select and then delete could be added.  I have over two months of notifications loaded on my phone with no way to delete them.  My only recourse now is to block the notifications feature completely in the Settings section of the App.  I have a Charge2 but the Fit Bit App needs to be updated because I am sure a lot of people are not aware of this these notifications cannot be deleted after receiving them.

Open up your account on the web browser not the app. In the right hand corner there is gear icon, open it, scroll down to notifications, open and then decide what you want or don't want. I turned them all off and haven't one since 11/17.

I like the motivational side of the notification, but I don't need to keep them all. Whether they are on the server or my PC/Phone/Tablet, there must be a space consideration too. I am looking forward to a mod that enables their management, deletion etc.

What happens to the ones that are already there. I was able to stop them but can’t get rid of the ones prior.

We've been trying to delete them since they 1st started 2/27/17!! So far Fitbit won't permit it. We are stuck with until Fitbit adds a delete option.

Not being able to delete notifications should be under the control of the end user. When it is not then the app is no longer user friendly. Give us the control .
