Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Good idea. How do we get that to happen?

Agree, but Fitbit does not and since Fitbit devices are selling fast they don't need to.

Keep up on the forum and maybe Fitbit will listen. So far in over a year they have turned a deaf ear. Just keep insisting that's all we can do.

Well, I for one will not be purchasing fitbit brand next time unless I can be rid of notifications

Neither will I. But too many unsuspecting people are buying Fitbits for the time and that's all they care about!

Ok then you insist on what and why?

I have posted several comments regarding FitBit’s failure to respond to their customers ardent request to allow US to delete old notifications and STILL there is NO response! I truly like my FitBit and my exercise program has been aided by this device! BUT, if FitBit continues to ignore US, their customers I intend to TRASH my device and buy a Garmin or Apple watch! I have bought products from both of these companies and THEY are ALWAYS responsive to problems with their products!

But they have responded.....but with a resounding NO! I know other people with a Fitbit and as much as we are upset, they don’t care. But you are correct Fitbit should be responsive, but they are happy with their model, buy one and then forget about us. Seems to work for them... there’s a backlog of Fitbit orders!!

PLEASE FITBIT - DELETE MESSAGES AND NOTIFICATIONS

Good Day

I wrote to Fitbit requesting the above.

I was advised by Vanessa that there is no such facility and the only way to go about implementing this feature is to write on this Forum.

To my dismay, there are ALREADY 441 requests asking the same thing!!!

Now honestly.

Liz from Fitbit in her response to someone asking for this feature responds basically by saying " THE MORE FITBIT USERS THAT REQUEST THIS FEATURE, THE MORE ATTENTION WILL BE GIVEN.TO IT !!)

Surely, if Fitbit can track how many times a person tosses and turns whilst sleeping- THIS SIMPLE TECHNICAL ADJUSTMENT TO THE APP IS POSSIBLE ??? It's not rocket science as they say.

I am sick to death of the comments like

"Wow,

"Well done,

"Keep it up"  - (that are all good and well in terms of encouragement amongst users) but mine have built up higher than the Trump Tower and the Tower of Babel combined.

SO TO EVERYONE WHO HAS A FITBIT - IF THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL ADD THE

" DELETE MESSAGES AND NOTIFICATIONS " FEATURE -

P L E A S E

O N   B E N D E D   K N E E - I

I M P L O R E   Y O U -

W R I T E  O N  T H I S   F O R U M.

As it appears that is what it (hopefully) will take for them to HEAR US.

Thank you,

(Written with no disrespect intended).

We’ve been trying since these notifications started in February 2017! Liz has told us they are only considering deleting messages and NOT notifications. I have also received in the past 1 1/2 years at least 400 messages asking for the ability to delete notifications. You can stop them, go to the web browser, log in open the gear in the top right corner, scroll down to notifications and turn off what you don’t want. At least that will stop these annoying notifications.

This has been a request for the last 2 years at least. Guess it is not happening. My delete the app.

You’re supposed to be able to do this 25th May US time.

Guess not either. And it looks as if the super duper update that was rumored for May 24th also did not occur.

If we were on that date I have not figured it out yet. Has anybody out there in the Fitbit universe figured out how to delete notifications with the knew update. All I saw was create a family account.

The other option is for people to stop buying their products and once sales
plummet then they might take notice and read user complaints.

Check the web site, they flooded with orders! Once they get one they'll be as angry as we are. But Fitbit will already have a new sale and that's their bottom line. Good customer service is.....

That's why when I heard about this stupendous earth shattering miracle update I was more than skeptical. I expected nada and I got nada.

I think we, FitBit users, need to finally understand that the company executives don’t care a wit about their customers! I think they will only address our issues when we finally realize that a MASS exeduce MAY get their attention!

On another topic, does anyone get bigblank gray spaces in their sleep tracking? Any idea what it is?

Hi. I believe the gray bar denotes the device is unable to read your BP, sleep etc. Fitbit might have fallen off or become too loose.

As long as people keep buying Fitbits the higher ups don’t need to listen and so far they have shown they won’t. A mass exodus probably will not happen, won’t matter, they have our money. But I for one will not buy a Fitbit again do to the customer service issues.

I believe you are right....when I get this I also get a little notice saying I did something wrong. BUT why does the Fitbit sometimes register I am asleep when all I did was take the Fitbit off for a few hours?

I still have very old  “almost to your 5 day exercise goal” notifications that are over 15 months old?   It is absolutely crazy that these can’t be deleted.
