Lock Touchscreen to Clockface

I'm finding over the course of the day and while sleeping my Surge's touchscreen becomes switched from the watch face to one of the other screens. It would be very helpful if there was an ability to hold down one of the physical buttons to lock the touchscreen on the watch face and repeat to unlock. This would prevent accidental navigation away from the watch face. Please consider adding this functionality in a future firmware update. Thank you.

Moderator Edit:

The latest Surge firmware update added a function which reverts Surge to its clock screen after 15 seconds. Some users would prefer to continuously view another data tile, such as Steps, Heart Rate, or Distance. This is no longer possible for more than 15 seconds outside of starting an Exercise log.

This existing Feature Request represents a good solution to the issue, and I encourage anyone who might be interested in this new feature to vote or comment in this thread.

I would need lock on both touch and buttons. Since I've moved to trail/all mountain riding sometimes on rough terrain there is a tendency to hit the buttons with the gloves. Other times if I wear long sleeves the chances are even higher as the contact point at the gloves/cuffs become thicker. Yesterday I had a semi-tracked ride which somehow paused/unpaused a few times. For a distance of 8km, only came out in 1.37km, 0 km and 2.3km sections. I'm not a pro athlete and have no fixed goals but I use it to track my rides for for my own reference when I want to revisit a place with a map reference.

I find this missing feature so frustrating.

I Do a lot of cycling and it's so frustrating that my route has been lost as it has paused without my knowing!

I've found that I can't really use my Fitbit Blaze for any sports until this problem is fixed.   This is a really simple fix and almost all sports trackers have a way of addressing it.

I have the same issue but more with boxing mitts and gloves bumping buttons during exercise.   I have to keep checking to see the Surge is still running then interrupt the workout to take gloves off and either unpause or restart....

I think I've found the solution ('hack' would be a better word)!
Turn your blaze 180 degrees in the frame so it's display is rotated away from you. That way the button are unable to be pressed and the workout can be controlled via the screen.
Obviously it's not helpful for reading stats mid workout but your workout shouldn't be paused or interrupted.

Come on Fitbit, this is ridiculous!!!!

I'm surprised this isn't a feature yet. I just purchased the Blaze and today I noticed it shut down 11 minutes into my boxing class.  I'll have to use my Polar heart rate monitor when exercising which sort of defeats the purpose of having a single tracker.

It doesn't work, I've tried this before, you still end up pressing the buttons!

This really is a nuisance.

I've tried turning the watch inside and out, but end up with the same results.   I'm using my fitbit for casual tracking, but went back to my Garmin for real workouts.

I too am having the issues with boxing gloves auto-pausing the screen and ending my workout at random times. Please, please add a screen-lock feature to the Blaze if not all Fitbits. Thank you.

First run with my new Blaze. It switched off my run constantly as i had long sleeves! Need a touchscreen off mode so you can just use the buttons like the Surge.

Surprised nothing has been done about this yet. I've been telling people to avoid this product for this specific reason. I used to own a really old Moto Active that had the ability to lock the screen. I lift weight every day and the fitbit always pauses and sometimes just ends the workout. Other times I won't even realize it paused until I finish my training session.

I have the same issue on my Blaze, it's very frustrating to come back from a long bike ride to find the activity is either paused or it ended miles ago.

I would suggest there be a "Lock Device" option, to lock one or both of the touchscreen and keys.

I would really like to see a key- and screen-lock function for my excercises.

I am getting very frustrated with my blaze pausing or even turning off my workouts when boxing is involved. We need a lock screen option! Turning off the quick view does not help. Switching it to the inside of my wrist definitely doesn't help either. Not having a way to lock the screen is my only problem with the Blaze but it is a huge problem!

For anyone who thinks fitbit will change the problem of the touchscreen lock, forget it, fitbit does not do anything for 2 years.

So buy another watch, if you want it.

Please can you introduce a screen lock on the blaze using a simultaneous press of one button from both sides of the blaze. I'm sooooo fed up of losing good data by rain or sweat or clothes stopping and saving my workout.

Thankyou

The main thing missing on the surge and I have had confirmed doesn't feature on the New Ionic also is lock button feature.

I do British Military Fitness (Britfit) which is a combination of running and static excercise like press ups, burpees and sit ups etc.

when wearing the surge I set bootcamp

mode. However if getting down quickly to do any excercise using my hands, the wrist movements can push against the buttons resulting in pausing and if I haven't noticed and it happens again it finishes the workout. Very frustrating and one I cannot believe has not been rectified. Most participants of britfit use Garmin forerunners which do not have this problem and unfortunately cheaper than the new ionic which I feel

is steeply overpriced! I have wanted a tracker like the surge but looks like the blaze and to be waterproof and interchangeable straps. The Ionic looked to be the next step up for me but not without a locking feature! Very disappointed as the price is just too much 😞

I've had this issue even with just with plain exercise...nothing super intense. It's quite annoying! Not a deal breaker for me, but would be a very nice feature to have.

I have the Charge2. Please, for the love of a good sleep and longer battery life: PROVIDE US THIS OPTION! I bought my Charge2 for a few reasons, one of the main being tracking my sleep. Not waking up all night because of the tap turning on.
It's beyond infuriating.

I've recently bought a Fitbit Blaze and I really like it; HOWEVER, it would greatly benefit from a "lock screen" of some sort. Whether that it a sliding lock switch at the side of the metal frame, or by simply holding two of the three exisiting buttons down. Something which prevents your workout pausing whilst carrying out one the Exercise programs. I found this out the hard way recently when I glanced at my Fitbit midway through a training session to find the program had paused -- so frustrating!

Hey! I would love it if the lock screen function could be on the Fitbit Blaze as I do a lot of boxing to keep fit & every time I put my gloves on it either pauses or finishes my workout! I'm sure others will agree that it's pretty annoying as I would like to see a true reading of how much I've burned & my highest heart rate etc! Cheers

While tracking wildlings past the Wall I commonly find the touch screen has paused my tracker. This is annoying, I would prefer to use the buttons as they are harder to mistakenly touch

Anyone know if the Ionic has addressed this problem?  I hope it can only pause a workout by pushing the side buttons and not by touching the screen...

This wasn't an issue for me for the past few months then I went for a run this morning wearing a jacket and only tracked the first third of my run.
