Macros in grams in the app

Hey everyone!
I have got a Fitbit Charge 2 and I have already downloaded the app into my iphone. As long as I am tracking the macros, I would appreciate if the app shows me also how many grams of protein, fat and carbs I eat, not only the percentage as it does now. I know I can check it in the dashboard on the internet via my macbook, but I think it would be really useful to make it possible in the app as well. What do you think?

Same. And it’s too bad too. If I love a product, I’m loyal as heck to the company that makes it, but Fitbit has failed with every issue I’ve come across and they’ve lost me.

I get the sinking feeling that there is some sort of limitation that Fitbit has that will not allow them to add this to their app.  Like a proprietary limitation.  Or there may be some other kind of property right or agreement behind the scenes that prevents this from going on the app.  I just don't understand why no one from Fitbit responds though.

I would have much less of an issue with Fitbit if they were forthcoming with information, but the fact is they are flat out ignoring this thread despite being active on the forums everyday. It reflects poorly on the company and is inexcusable. I’ve learned my lesson and moved on to other products by competitors and I am beyond satisfied with my decision. I’ve been reaching my goals much easier with MFP.

This feature was first requested in 2015 here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Track-Macros-in-App-daily-carbs-protein-fat-inta... the original poster showed the data presented on the web, which includes both grams and percentages. Fitbit chose to partially implement the request with percentages only, mark it "Released", and close it. Adding the votes on the two threads together, there are more than 2,500 votes for this feature.

I love that I can track my macros with my fitbit, but it seems like a missed opportunity that I have to use a separate food logging app to see my macros in grams!

It would be good if we could customize the daily totals to fit our own diets. I am a bit frustrated because I need to use a different app entirely so that I can count grams of carbs, net carbs, and grams of protein. I love my Fitbit, it would be great if the app I had these options.

While the display of percentages of macronutrients is nice, it would be much more useful to see cumulative totals of carbs, proteins and fat in GRAMS, as the day progresses.

This is a no-brainer really... and since it exists in the online dashboard, the work on your programmers’ side has already been done.... so please just add this summary table to the App versions.

It would be great if the fitbit app could add up all of your macronutrients for the day and show us the grams of macros that we are eating instead of just the percentage out of our diet. Ie. instead of it just telling me i have eaten 30% protein out of my diet i would like to know how many grams of protein that is. I think that this is spmething that a lot of people would like to see improve about the app so if the developers are able to do something about this that would be amazing. Thank you.

I feel seeing the total grams taken in of each macro would be extremely helpful as the percentage doesn't really matter if you haven't eaten a lot.

I love the new addition of the female health tracker and am always keeping track of my whole life in the Fitbit App. I just wish their was a Macros Tracker to keep track of how many grams of each nutrient you consumer, rather than just the percentage! I also wish that there were goals to go with this so you know what how much of each nutrient you SHOULD consume, not just how much you actually are.

show macronutrients in grams on the app as well as a percentage of calories consumed.  I would like to know how many grams of carbs, fats, and protein I have consumed in a day and I am sure I am not alone.

Yes, please. I participated in a class recently for people with pre-diabetes and all the measures of macro nutrients were in grams. I asked if similar information is available as a percentage of calories but it is not and the dietitian seemed to indicate that this is not as useful as grams.

This should be an easy addition, as the app/site is already doing the math. If I enter 180 grams of plums, for example, I can tap on that specific entry and see that the plum is 7.54 grams of total carbs and 900mg of fibre, but I cannot see those numbers as a total for the day or the day so far, as I can with percentages.

The only thing missing in the Fitbit app in my opinion, is being able to view macros (rather than percentages) in the food tracker - please update this and make it an awesome one stop app!! Please please 🙂

Please have the macros in the app show as grams not percentages. I do not know anybody who is still tracking macros that way. I know I can go online and check my macros on grams there, but that is very inconvenient to do throughout the day. I checked out other postings about this topic and it looks like we've been asking for this for some time. Help us out Fitbit! Thanks!

It would be really helpful if I could track my macronutrients as grams instead of percentages. Even the option would be appreciated. As someone who watches my food intake by grams, it would be super helpful to have this feature integrated into the mobile app.

The website does a great job of showing the "Daily Calorie Composition: 40% from carbs, 46% from fat and 14% from protein." and the percentage.  A user request was made to add this to the iPhone App as it was notably missing and it is now there.  For someone who is currently tracking macro's closely this is very important.

Would really love to see this go one step further and track individual meals.  As a planner, my goal is trying to have every meal at my required percentages.  Knowing what works as an individual meal would make it  a lot easier to achieve my daily goals.

On the website, the values in total grams is already there, for each individual meal, so all that would be required was some code to convert these percentages and a line to show them.   I am not sure how much more work would be required on the iPhone app, but believe the same would apply.  All the data necessary is available, just a display thing.

Most nutritiinal plans that focus on macronutrients do not provide a daily percentage of intake. They ask you to track to an amiunt of grams in protein, carbs, and fat. I use this ab for fitness tracking and it eoild be amazing to have one app that could do it all as I have not found one yet and use multiple apps to accumulate all the data.

It would be so much better if you could adjust the macronutrient percentages and on the app when you put your food in take in instead of seeing the percentage of the meal to see the actual macro figures like 25grams of protein.

I calorie count pretty religiously and it’s awesome seeing how many calories I’ve burned vs eaten except the macronutrients are in percentages which make it hard for me to see how many grams of each I’ve consumed to hit my goal. It’s a simple feature that would work wonders. Thank you.
