Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

There is a dashboard at https://dashboard.exercise.quest/.

It was written by a fitbit user using the Fitbit webapi interface.  It has most of the same features that the defunct google dashboard had. It requires a bit of exploring and clicking on things to see all of the features.   Give it a try.

I had to reluctantly give up on the webpage because it had become impossible to sync my Fitbit using it, so I would really welcome its triumphant return.  It's so much easier and more convenient to upload/review on a 24" computer monitor + mouse/keyboard instead of a 6" mobile phone screen + touchscreen, not only because of my poor eyesight.

Many countries now have growing ageing populations and that's only expected to increase, so device manufacturers are going to have increasing demand for products that are more suitable for us (I moved from Charge 5 to Versa 3 so I could actually read the time on the screen without my reading glasses !), and consumers are going to vote with their wallets.  I'm still doing my 5km runs 7 times a fortnight and intend to continue to do so as long as I'm physically able so the tracker/smartwatch combination is very appealing for my needs and will continue to be so.

If nothing else, having a functional webpage version alongside the mobile app would have been really helpful during the current mass outage that's affecting the mobile app across a lot of (all ?) devices  - I'm sure everyone affected would have appreciated it.

I've been using this dashboard for about a month now and although it's not
quite the same as the Fitbit Dashboard but still much better than having to
use the phone app for everything which is a roaring pain!

Does it update the menus if you make changes?

It updates any new food items added but I don't know about menus as I don't
use that.

It was so much easier for me to enter my food diary daily while in front of my computer everyday. Having to use the app and manually tap each item each day can be tedious compared to having it right in front of me on my computer screen daily.

Please Bring Back The Website Dashboard!!!  Way more easier for me than having to use my phone app everyday especially for my food diary entries.

Removing a service that was previously available sounds like a breach of contract. Many users bought Fitbit also for the ease of use of the web interface (also to fine-track data). I had a syncope last week and hoped I could find the heartbeat reading in that time frame, and that is utterly impossible in the app.

So basically you are making it difficult for me to access important data - actually MY data.

Shame.

Some people have said hate, some have said hate, hate, hate, some have said they loathe the new system. I agree with them all. I loved being able to track my progress over time, and choose whatever time frame I want, on my desktop. Now I can't. Why not? Bring the old website back. I may have to switch to another tracker. I'm a 77 year old and I walked 8 1/2 miles today. My workout regimen is important to me, and being able to track it helps me stay motivated and moving. Bring back the website the way it was, or I'll find someone who will.

Not everyone in this world has a cell phone.

So the desktop computer app was perfect for me as well as the dashboard on the fitbit website

I still have a inspire HR (first model you guys came out with)

I don't own a cell phone so I can't upgrade my Fitbit even if I wanted to because the newer models aren't compatible with the desktop dashboard.

I also thankfully was able to revive my Fitbit to life after going to the pool, it was advertised as pool friendly up to 50 ft ... it was BS in the long run because my Fitbit died

But when I took it off my Bluetooth settings and reinstalled it thankfully it came back to life but the screen is clearly dying since half of the screen is missing but I can always look at my desktop app to read my calories and steps heart rate and such. But sadly it keeps crashing when I try to read my workout progress for the day!

Do something for those of us that enjoy the desktop computer apps and don't own a cell phone!!

what are the reasoning to remove the online dashboard access from browser???

As several people have already noted, the elimination of the online dashboard in favor of a phone app means those of us with vision and dexterity problems are SOL. Can barely see it. Can't add information easily. One of the reasons I got the premium version was so I could track calories and weight. This data had to be entered manually, and I can't find out how to do this on the app. Also, I liked the graphic capability of the online version, and I can't find it in the app, so I guess that is GONE TOO. The switch to an app means I have LOST a lot of the functionality of the premium dashboard. Why am I paying for this? I tend to go through trackers pretty quickly, so when my Fitbit dies I will be looking for a provider/fitness tracker which offers an online dashboard. A provider who is user friendly to the elderly and handicapped.

The argument raised in an earlier post by @la_stefi, that taking away the Dashboard is "breach of contract", is discussed in a video that contributes to the topic, the second in the series you'll find if you search YouTube for "fitbit grandma". Advance to the 4 minute 40 second mark for the discussion specifically about the Terms you agreed to when you registered your watch. Fitbit states that the contract is whatever they said it was when you clicked to agree to the Terms of Service. As you will see in the video, those terms of service stipulate that they can change their service whenever they please.

Don't forget to share the videos with anyone you think will appreciate them!

I can no longer log my food intake with FitBit.  I work in a 'clean' environment, and no outside devices are allowed.  In the past I was able to log my daily food intake on my PC, now I can't.  Who's idea was it to ruin this?  First Fitness Pal was taken over and ruined, now Fitbit.

Okay. I have a question. Where would I go to see what the terms of service
were when I agreed to them? I've had my current fitbit since February
2021. The terms I agrees to, almost 5 years ago, are from before Google was
involved, I think. I'd be interested in reviewing them.

I lost a bunch of weight back in 2020 and got strong with the help of meticulous Fitbit tracking. I got away from it for a while because I got sick with cancer plus a bunch of job stress. I am finally back, but I see the website for tracking food, etc is gone?!? Why the heck would you do that? Its easier to track on my pc during work breaks.

Hello.  I am weighing in late on this, but because of travel and busy-ness, I have not been online with Fitbit on my computer for quite a few months now.  As a result, I somehow missed the announcement that the website dashboard was being shut down over the summer.  I am crushed.  I have depended on the food entry system there for my periodic eating programs.  I am not disabled, but as I age, my eyesight declines.  Also, it is so much easier to type quickly and accurately on a computer keyboard than it is on a phone, and the food entry system, if used for a long-term eating program, requires significant typing.  The phone app, while great for travel and quick checks during the day, is just not an adequate substitute.  I do hope that you will bring it back, at least with an integrated food entry system.  Thanks for listening.

The web dashboard was a much better way to access Fitbit data. The app is harder to navigate and enter information and simply too small.  Convenience of the web dashboard aside, it's also an accessibilty issue. As I age, my eyesight suddenly won't get better. Trying to look at ride routes on my phone is basically unusable.
