Manual entry of Stairclimber (add floors/distance)

The Fitbit doesn't register floors climbed on Steppermills and Stair Masters.

It would be great if we could manualy add floors to our daily totals.

Obviously we are already adding steps / calories / active minutes from doing the exercise... just want to add the floors.

Thanks

I am all for this idea, or maybe change it to 8 ft, for attics? Attics don't have the space to allow standing up (at least not mine) to allow the full height. I'm not sure why basement didn't register. Please allow manual override for flights of steps.

Please add my voice to the throngs of people who have already requested the manual addition of floors climbed. I do 50 floors 3 times per week on the stairmaster at the gym and would like to be able to add this to my stats. I'm no programmer, but it seems like an easy thing to do, given that you can already manually add other activities. Fitbit, please listen to the many requests for this feature.

Ya'll really need this! I just got my Alta and I made the effort to climb the stairs to my floor at work twice today, but when I didn't see the results reflected on my dashboard I was bummed out.

FYI - I'm on the 9th floor and I climbed it twice today and that was the only time I broke a sweat all day, so I would really love to see how this helps my overall health.

Option to manually add steps, too. Like when my fitbit dies...I can usually estimate how many steps I've done based on the activity. It'd be nice to input a number instead of shaking my fitbit once it's charged.

Please add the functionality to manually input floors for StairMaster and treadmill work.  Functionality already exists to manually add distance.  Shouldn't be hard to do and would add significant interest/value for those of us (I'm sure there are many) who use this equipment.

Could Fitbit or the community develop a formula that registers floors correctly from a treadmill that has an incline, time and speed. If you go one hour at 10% incline at 4mph and it registers 2 floors it's somewhat debilitating. I was soaked and felt fantastical.

Please allow us the ability to manually edit things tracked. Especially floors

To add a comment to the two years worth of users asking for this functionality, I would like to echo the multitudes and say that it would be wonderful to give users the ability to add floors, calories and time spent on stairmasters and steppers.  Recently I received a badge for achieving 500 floors and it is worthless since i might achieve 100 floors on any given day, but this measurement is not allowed to be edited.  It seems like it is just a software edit/ upgrade, so why not improve this feature.  Is it being saved for a new model or something.  I have a blaze and like it alot, but this is definitely a frustrating deficit and detraction.

Hi
What really gets me as a new user is why Fitbit is not interested in a direct reply. So many people feel good about their progress and would gladly pay for this function. I calculated running uphill at about a 10 to 15% grade for 2 minutes at a speed that was similar to a treadmill and got about a 6 floor read so do that 8 times and got in 50. Boring but effective. Hope they get enough squawks to do something,

I use the stepmill with my hands off the railings and it still does not registered my 100 floors? Please add an option to manually add floors. Also when I lift weights for 60 min many times it only registers as 10min of activity when I have been active the whole time why????

Like so many above, please add a feature that allows the manual addition of floors climbed. Based on the elapsed time users/customers have been requesting this it seems to me that FitBit should at least provide some reason for not having added the feature.

Taking a look at the change in their stock price from 1/1/16 ($29.76) to
current ( $7.90), maybe their inability to listen and at least respond to
their customers is a reflection of the performance of the company's stock
price ?

I have a couple of key recommendations:

1. Listen to your customers
2. Be responsive
3. Never rest on innovation and improving your products and services

Any other recommendations??

It is nearly 2017 now and I still don't see a way to edit or input the floors I've climbed according to the treadmill each workout. This really throws off my calorie count, and should be able to log these feet or floors climbed. Other products let me add these feet but I like wearing the fitbit Surge better and Fitbit dash board if you would get it fixed to edit floors for gym equipment I could stop using a competitors band in addition to my Surge. Please fix it.

1 thing that bugs me is sometimes it will register a flight of steps, but at a different day or time, it does not register the same flight of stairs. Or if I am slower than usual ascending, like bringing up my groceries or laundry, it does not register the exact same flight of stairs.

If you follow the market and read any of the analysis none of your 'issues' were behind the drop in stock price. But whatever floats your boat.

Personally I don't care about the stock price, I care more about it being a failure to perform! "Just fix it" and we'll act like we didn't see that you couldn't "get it up" a flight of exercise equipment steps even with manual stimulated input.

Well I am new to fitbit and exercise but to my simple mind the problem isn't the stock price or not listening the floors is based on altitude and on static equipment no matter how manysteps you do you dont gain altitude on a stepper/treadmillike also with my stepper I don't use my arms so a wristband would not realise I am moving as it would if I was walking. I also think one of the main points to an activity tracker is that it can't be fiddled ditto the scales you can delete entries but you can't add anything therefore can't cheat but I would still like to be able to choose stepper on the track exercise facility on the app

Just want the ability to input the floors just as you would input other additional exercise in the dashboard log for tracking and credit that is all. Not talking about any change to the device itself.

I don't know how many times I've agreed with these requests online and posted some of my own.

It's been years and we've still not been successful in our requests.

Fitbit, where do we go from here?

I have started messaging them for a fix on Facebook. I suggest others do too, hoping the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I do have a bit of a work around for this.  I use My Fitness Pal and have it linked to my Fitbit,  If you enter the exercise on Fitness Pal it will sync with your fitbit.  I had a foot operation hence only 5 mins lol

Need a way to manually add floors climbed and steps using phone app. I cannot wear my device to work and thus need a way to enter battery operated pedometer tracking into Fitbit (for steps) and my own tracking of taking the stairs every day.

Since on the Charge 2 you can choose "stairclimber" as a workout, it would be nice if every 10 steps or so gave you a flight of stairs. It's kinda frustrating for the stairclimber machine to say "40 flights" while my Fitbit says "0".
