More badges (Add badge ideas here!)

Need more creative badges and trophies rather than just the lifetime records... that could be more motivating.

Here are a few ideas:
- Badge for reaching 10000 steps for 7 days in a row, 15 days in a row, 50 days in a row...
- Badges based on active minutes/calories/kilometers
- How about some more crazy/funny badges like "night owl" for someone who regularly achieves a lot of steps at night, "out of bed" (same principle but for early morning), etc.
- Badges that reflect poor activity; for instance a badge if you don't reach 10000 steps/day once in 7 days, ...

I think that these are all ideas that could really enrich the experience of fitbit users by increasing motivation and I believe they are all relatively simple to implement in the Fitbit system!!

I love the idea of more badges as well as the idea of badges tailored to your own goals. But honestly, some days I'm sitting in class for upwards of seven hours, then stuck in an extra-curricular activity (choir, so no real movement) for a few more hours. On these days, it's next to impossible for me to get much more than 5,000 steps. I really dislike the under-achiever badge idea for this reason, as well as the fact that some people who are disabled use fitbits (as a commenter above me said). Can you imagine being physically incapable of reaching 10,000 steps and then having a badge tell you that you're not doing well, even when you're pushing yourself to the limit to get your 2,000? That just seems inconsiderate to me.

I started using fitbit zip less than a year and am fast approaching my 3 million steps mark. I wish fitbit gave me a badge for this kind of accomplishment. 🙂 I think fitbit should recognize milestones for number of steps taken along with distance covered. I think number of steps taken is more accurate measure than distance covered for which badges are given.

I just got my 700 floor badge after doing 940 floor in one day.

I agree it is a bit crazy but what can one do? Next week I will go on a hike that is at least 1000 floors and I would love to see that achievement in the form of a badge!!

Wow, I want to go on the 1,000 floor hike!

I go over 700 floors on a regular base and would love to see a badges for that too.

Perhaps in increments of a 100 floors up to 1500?

Next week I'm planning to go over 1000 floors and would love to see that achievement in the form of (a) badge(s).

Also, 28,000 lifetime floors seems too low. I have my fitbit since March 2014 and I'm already close to 15,000 floors. We need more badges!

Lifetime distance badges should be more too. 1200 miles in 5 months is 2,500 miles a year. We need lifetime badges for at least 25,000 miles 🙂

We just need more badges for everything currently monitored and new categories to keep us challenged.

Badges? We don't need no steenking badges.

Seriously...I'd rather the Fitbit team work on adding real functionality than virtual "gold stars".

As so many people have mentioned the Max value for floors on a daily basis, and lifetime bases is too low. Maybe you could look at the 7 Summits or Climb every mountain type badges after the current badges to add badges which can be earned.

If the idea for badges is to motivate people to climb more, badges to earn should be an easy fix, and a badge for 35000, 50,000, etc should be an easy fix.

For those people who need to work up gradually from a level of almost no activity, the daily step badges could be more refined:

5,000

6,000

7,000

8,000

9,000

10,000

11,000

and so on - in 1K increments up to, say, 25,000 steps per day. Anyone getting that many steps is probably a runner.

I've been achieving 10,000 daily for quite a while but to get to the next level, 15,000, is a big leap and difficult for an office worker to achieve...

Both the lifetime distance and floor badges should have more attainable
incremental targets and run to infinity. The steps badges are great but
need to increase to from 75K to 100K minimum.

Badges seem like such a simple idea, and are soooo motivating.  Like... I got 20 staircases one day.  Well, I'm not going to get 50 in a day, unless I go hiking, so no more badges?  How about 100 in a week?  Or 150 overall?  And this could continue.

Honestly, the crazy, out-of-the-blue badges are as much fun as the ones you earn which you see coming.  LoseIt would give you a badge for exercising on a holiday, do you folks do that?  It was nice.

This is for me too and any Ultra runner or serious hiker!!!  I just ran 50M race Saturday - 90K steps and 900 floors.  I've run out of daily steps and floor badges too!  Isn't that an easy add??  Thougths?  Thanks!

'd really appreciate if Fitbit could simply add badges for 800, 900, and 1,000 floors per day.  Even though it's a lot of climbing, I don't see any logical reason why the highest daily floors badge is 700.  It's definitely possible to go beyond that (even if it seems slightly crazy).

How hard could it be to add those badges?  At least up to 900 - that way you could fill out a full row on the badges page!

Thanks!

YES!  Daily Steps and Daily Floors runs out way too soon!!!  Any ultra runner, really serious hiker, and more will regularly run out!  I just did a 50Mile Trail Race Saturday - 900 flights and 90K steps to complete it.

Thanks!

I just recently got a Fitbit Flex and notice that I only have one real badge that I can get, steps. I think there should be more badges available. Reaching your goal several days in a row, weeks in a row, maybe even month(s) in a row. For winning challenges against your friends, the first time you win, the 5th time, 10th time, etc. Depending if you set a weight goal, get motivational badges along the way to your goal. In general, more badges.

It would be awesome to have a list of all badges available to help keep motivated, and could also include a progress bar to show you how close you are to getting it!

This would be great!

as I am a huge achivement hunter, this would give me a lot of motivation! It would be a great thing to have on the app.

What about badges for good eating habits? For example, going a week without sweets, getting 5 fruits/vegetables in a day, no food after xxx, sugar < xx, cholesterol < xxx, etc.

Thanks for the consideration!

Hey Fitbit

Any updates on this topic??? I think a year is more than enough time to implement this.

I absolutely agree, even in my nonfitness apps whether it be a game or a learning tool there are multiple badges, and badges that might be able to reoccur even would be nice so it doesn't feel underwhelming that i never reach the more challenging badges, or not as often so to say.

Recommendation for new badge:  For those who do some extreme daily floor climbing how about the "Tour de Stade".

Those who are big LOST series fans will remember this feat - requires running all the steps in a stadium!

It seems to have originated at Harvard (I'm not an alum, so I'm not boasting).

I leave it to the moderators to determine an appropriate floor count but I think this would be a SWEET badge to work towards!

Hi Fitbit Community!

I'd like to see more climbing badges to include 8K, 9K and 10,000 ft
Badges. More trail hikers and summit climbers are using Fitbits to record
their climbing efforts.

I'd also like to see the 35,000 floors Badge increased to include 40K, 50K,
60K, 70K, 80K 90K, 100K, 125K, 150K,175K and 200K
In 2.5 yrs I have climbed 132,000 plus floors. My weekly floor count is
over 1,000 floors per week so more climbing badges are important to me and
many other Fitbit climbers.

With regard to distances I think we need a 10,000 mile Badge added between
9700 mile and 12,250 mile Badges. I think a new badge should be achievable
every 1,000 miles to 25,000 miles which is the circumference of the earth.

Cheers,

Burrito Bob

Stepping Up

I suggest a new series of badges tied to consecutive days meeting one of the daily goals.  For example, achieving 10,000 or more steps every day for 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, etc.  Such an approach would add another badge recognizing sustained performance, over time.
