More badges (Add badge ideas here!)

Need more creative badges and trophies rather than just the lifetime records... that could be more motivating.

Here are a few ideas:
- Badge for reaching 10000 steps for 7 days in a row, 15 days in a row, 50 days in a row...
- Badges based on active minutes/calories/kilometers
- How about some more crazy/funny badges like "night owl" for someone who regularly achieves a lot of steps at night, "out of bed" (same principle but for early morning), etc.
- Badges that reflect poor activity; for instance a badge if you don't reach 10000 steps/day once in 7 days, ...

I think that these are all ideas that could really enrich the experience of fitbit users by increasing motivation and I believe they are all relatively simple to implement in the Fitbit system!!

Hi guys

So to begin with I just wanna say how much I love my fitbit flex. I use it everyday and it has helped me shift 20 pounds. However, I need to see updates!! New challenges to take part in and new badges to motivate me!!

Who agrees?

I agree with new challenges but I would like to see the badges on my app. Like maybe apart of the dashboard

This could be some huge motivation... Gotta get up and move so you don't lose that 40+ day streak of being over your step goal and having to reset to zero days... "Consistency Goals" would be a fun motivator.

Streak goals ( daily, weekly, monthly) Sleep goals ( duration, quality, streaks) Heart rate based duration goals

Just came here to request the same thing!  I'd very much like to pick a more interesting default than the badge which is presented to me... especially the most recent one.  Allowing the user to select a default badge would be awesome.

Definitely agreeing on the need for smaller increments on the floors badges. The daily ones stop going up by increments of 25 floors after 200, and go to 100 floors. The lifetime floors badges seem to go up exponentially! I'm at 4,000 and don't get another badge until 8,000! I am an ordinary day hiker, not an extreme athlete. Smaller increments would be more achievable for people like me, and therefore more engaging.

Also, whenever Fitbit changes the badge awarding system, previously earned badges disappear. That is not necessary, and a bit of a bummer. Other websites (see Khan Academy, for example) retire badges but still show them among a person's achievements, just notating that they are retired and can't be earned anymore.

I loved the comment that suggested badges for other time increments - best in a week, bet in a month. There is a lot of room between a day and a lifetime!

I suggest additional badges beyond 100 K, especially for those of us who were cheated out of our hooray moment when we hit 100 K. Additional badges could be available at 110, 120, 130, 140, and 150. Hey, I know someone who has done 167 legitimate steps in one day. Use this lucratively: sell the rights to the names of these patches to athletic footwear company. For instance, maybe 110 could be Nike air Jordans. 150 K could be my personal favorite, ASICS gel kayano. This could be an extra source of income for fit bit, additional motivation for its customers, and an advertising tool for athletic fit. A win win win situation

Please focus you efforts on more important issues rather than Badges. Really, people get moviated by badges, give yourself a shake.

Badges for consecutive days having achieved goals - and not just in 30 day increments.  I second the notion for being able to create our own badges, too.

Badges....we don't need no stinking badges! YES WE DO! Please add more badges; esp crazy/funny ones. I want a "every freaking day" badge if I hit my goal for a month straight etc.

Are there plans for higher Life Time Climb badges?  I am way past the last badge and would really like to see more for the continued effort and # of floors.

Would like to see more badges and more fun ones like the night owl you suggested however badges for LACK of activity seems counter productive to owning a fitbit.

I would have liked to have seen them done one for the Fitforfood that would have been nice! (at least a badge showing particpation)

Here I am on the cusp of getting to the 10 mile mark and nothing to show for it , that sucks the badges should be closer together 7.5 k mi - 12.5 k mi is to wide a gap let us create and insert our own is you guys (fitbit ) don't want to do it. I'm jus sayin

Hi Fitbit Climbers and Distance walkers.

My last Climbing Badge was for 35,000 floors Jan 2013. After 3 years of climbing with my ONE (May 12th) I will be approaching 145,000 floors. I'd like to see additional badges thru 250,000 floors in 5,000 to 10,000 floor increments.

The walking Badges do indicate the numbers of times stepping threshhold has been acheived in a 24hr period. However, the distance milage badges should offer shorter distance threshholds. A Distance Badge should be awarded after each 250 miles and all the way to 20,000 miles. I received my 7,900 mile Badge 7/14 and won't get another until Dec 2015. I'm currently at 10,800 miles. I'd like to see a 10,000 mile Badge too.

This year (2015) Yolanda Holder w/ONE will walk 10,000 miles and set a Guinness Book of World Records.  This will be her 3rd GWR. She is recording it with 2 Garmins. She deserves a 10,000 Mile Fitbit Badge.....just sayin'. I encouraged Yolanda to buy the ONE and to join Carlos Barber's Fitbit Challenge Group with 8,000 fitness addicts. She has been well received and is encouraging many woman who want to know how to go after the 100,000 step Badge.

My point is this fitness tracking space is becoming very competitive and many athletes of all levels from couch potatoes to Yolanda's are purchasing tracking devices. If Fitbit can accommodate the world class acheivers those acheivers will influence and broaden the horizon's of the newbees.

Finally, I'd like to see T's shirts available for sale to ONLY those who have EARNED them. For example, I'd like to see a Fitbit 100,000 Steps in a Day Finisher T shirt. The stepper would be happy to pay 20.00 plus shipping. I'd like to see the same for the Fitbit 10,000 Mile Club T shirts or Fitbit Climbing 700 or 1,000 Floors in a Day T shirts. Those shirts appearing all over Social Media along with their life changing stories will bring the right awarness to encourage a few million new Fitbitters annually. Cheers, Burrtio Bob

Kudos to you for explaining what so many of us are feeling and to what fitbit has apparently turned a blind eye to. A lot of us have had to deal with the growing pains of Fitbit as I started off with the Classic some 3 years ago, and remained faithful to the company. With all the new players entering the market  we have all stayed with the Fitbit, and it seems they don't care. I'm just saying

I'm not sure why badges receive so much attention from the user community.  There are so many other features that could benefit people to improve their health.  I feel like developers working on badge feature sets is not the best use of time for the product.  Maybe down the road, but too many enhancements are needed.

I really would love to see badges for active minutes. It would encourage me to get more active minutes in each day, and Fitbit already tracks this information, so it seems like a natural one to add. This is especially important for activities that don't earn steps, like working out on a recumbent bike or a rowing machine.

I would also like a badge for getting 8 hours of sleep in a day, or seven consecutive nights of 8 hours of sleep. I need more motivation to get good sleep!

The ability to challenge your friends to meeting water goals and badges for consistency in meeting water goals. (Example: Tall Drink of Water badge for meeting first goal day, Fish Bowl badge for meeting drinking goal every day for a week, etc).

I bought a FitBit Zip to replace my old pedometer, thinking it was simply another step pedometer, but I find the DashBoard and the Badges VERY motivating!  I love the badges!  (I didn't know the old ones, but the new ones with the pics are clever.)

It would be an extra motivation for me if we were allowed to strive for weekly badges, as well as daily badges.  Maybe make the weekly ones have a "W" on the shoe, or perhaps a calendar to make them language independent.  (I actually would be perfectly fine to be able to adjust my dashboard to show me weekly in addition to daily and use the same badges.)

I realize there are daily and lifetime steps, but they are so far apart.  The weekly would make a big difference in what I could strive for.

The weekly badges feature would actually be a feature I would pay to have and would make me upgrade to Premium.

Thanks for a great product.

As some have mentioned customizable challenges would be great. I would also love to see customizable badges to go with these challenges.
Additional badges would be great. I personally compete against my family so I would like to be able to create personal badges on my account. Or....it would be nice to modify badges, upload your own badge to your account for use. Something simple would be a badge with a letter on it that would be able to keep transferring from users to a use within a group/challenge. Companies, families, community groups and organizations could then use the badge for their group competition. A group/user could choose a border choice from fitbit and the a center from fitbit. There could be hundreds of choice combinations with just a small amount of choices.
I could see schools using their own badges within physical fitness programs.
I could see companies recognizing fitbit challenge achievers. It would be great to have a badge to show off as well.

Badges are a great idea to motivate folks, but some of the badges seem to be too far apart.  Especially the flights of stairs badges.

What I would love to see is:

For distance: Next town.  This could be fitbit knows where we are (Making this up, Pittsburg) and tells us when we get to Cleveland, Chicago, New York, etc.  Or it could be pick one of 30 cities around the world and you can see when you covered the distance between NYC and Phily, or Boca or LA.  You could do round trip or one way distance, just an idea.

For flights of stairs:  Pick a building.  I don't care if it is the Empire State Building or whatever is currently the tallest building in the world.  Tell me how many times I have climbed to the top.

The added feature of this is if a non-fitbit user asks how you lost the weight, I can tell them I can tell them, Fitbit and it tells me I walked the equivilant of LA to Seatle, that might add interest to non-fitbit folks.
