More clock/watch faces for the Charge 3!

So, the Charge 3 is out and there is a huge let down:

There are only 5 clock/watch faces:

Come on Fitbit...at least include all the Charge 2 watch faces too. We all loved the Charge 2 watch face with the time, date and the highlighted feature (steps/heart rate etc.)

Whats missing:

- Faces with the actual DATE and DAY

- Faces with a DIGITAL SECONDS TIMER

Or to say it again, just include the Charge 2 watch faces. Thanks in advance.

Wow, the number of folks who've voted and commented on this single suggestion is astonishing / encouraging.  By contrast, the utter lack of urgency and communication on Fitbit's part is jarring.  Unless I'm mistaken Fitbit, the majority of the folks here are your actual paying customers.

Even if you don't believe it, from a business perspective, you'd be better off pretending the slightest bit of interest...maybe a sign of life every few hundred posts.

It's not that difficult.  For example, "We're sorry this release hasn't gone as smoothly as we planned, but rest assured we're working hard to address any perceived shortcomings.  Stay tuned here (provide link) for the latest clock/watch faces and complete details about the most recent firmware release".  Then, simply alter the wording slightly every thousand posts or so.

Instead, we're met with complete silence.  It makes me wonder if anyone is listening or this is simply a thread monitored by bots.

I was a Charge 2 owner and loved the clock faces.  I want the time, date and steps on my new Fitbit Charge 3,  BUT IN WHITE ON THE BLACK BACKGROUND.  As an over 70 year old I want a face clock I can read.  Grey on white is almost invisible.  I had no problems with the Charge 2.  I see you have added a new clock face with white writing on black, excellent, it has date, time and steps  BUT I CANNOT DOWNLOAD IT ONTO MY CHARGE 3.  A notice comes up and states

THIS CLOCK CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON YOUR DEVICE??????   Please explain why!

I, like you, work in the computer and software field.

I have never, ever in my 6 plus decades heard of, let alone
experienced, such a total lack of feedback and total disregard for the
user base.

FitBit deserves to fail if they can't deal with a simple matter like
this.
Public relations are totally non-existent.

I have sent several emails to support - I actually got one back that
looked as if a human may have had some input and that one was so vague
as to be virtually non-existent, but at least it was a change from the
robotic platitudes of the previous two replies.

I am simply dumbfounded as to how any company can produce such a
fantastic piece of hardware and then give it firmware of a lower
quality than an alibaba special that costs $5.

I seriously recommend that everyone on this thread send back their
charge3 as being unfit for purpose.

I started on this thread by trying to get some action on the
clockfaces, but this does not look as if it's going to happen, in fact,
we don't even know if FitBit is actually aware of any unhappiness with
it's users.

Although, blocking reviews on Amazon indicates they may suspect.

I am seriously considering returning my new Charge 3. I really liked my charge 2 but the front glass broke from top to bottom. Fitbit said they would give me a discount on a new one. Big deal they forgot to mention the Charge 3 was due out. So when I knew, I returned my discounted device. Big mistake. I cannot read the grey writing on black, there was no clock face initially with a date. Also, the alarm on the lowest setting is like an electric shock.

I've already sent my special edition back now I'm just waiting for one I ordered from qvc to arrive and I'll send that straight back too very disappointed with all the comments about the quality as I love the charge 2 and was excited about the 3 looks like I'm might go with the galaxy smart watch instead

Is an update to the Charge 3 Fitbit possible that would add the month and date on the clock face?  I also have a Charge 2 which has this feature and really miss the date feature when wearing my Charge 3. I go back to the Charge 2 when the Charge 3 is charging. It would make me very happy to have the date on the Charge 3 face.

I agree - I cannot see the step count easily like I could with the Charge 2!  

Bring back the Charge 2 face as an option for Charge 3!!!

The posts above me are correct: The 2 new clock faces have the date in it. But gray on black is not readable in daylight conditions! It makes no sense to "play" with the abilities of the screen ("Hey look we can show now the color "gray" on the display!") if it makes no sense to see the most important informations on the main screen. So please: Give us the clock faces from the Chrage 2 back! ...And in the same color of course (White on black). For me the most readable clock face for now is the "HR stat". The only gray component there is the "Hear rate gauge" and this doesn't disturb the quick reading of the time or the heart reate itself.

I agree with @SunsetRunner.

Fitbit, congrats on the gray scale!  Now, please stop torturing those of us with less than ideal vision.  Use it on graphics, not on important text.  For example, use it on the heart animation, steps icon, progress indicators, etc.  These might actually look nice and highlight the capability.

Do not use it on the text for the date, step count, or heart rate.  Especially, don't use it for the time.

Folks have created devices to display time almost since it began.  In the hundreds, if not thousands, of displays I've seen in my life, none of them has represented the digits in two different intensities.  There's a reason for that...its a spectacularly dumb idea!

Now, don't get me wrong.  I'm certain someone else had this dumb idea and created a product.  Thankfully, that product must have failed in the marketplace long before most people were ever forced to see it.  From a business perspective, that might be a lesson Fitbit should consider.

Don't believe me...go to Amazon and search for "clock" or "watch".  It returns huge numbers of products.  The Charge 3 is the singular example I could find of this dumb idea.  Many other products have gray scale...some even have full color...none chose to utilize the capability in this foolish fashion.

Customers don't look at your product photo and say "cool, gray scale!".  They look at it and say "nice product, but why is the time messed up?".

Charge2 owner still, bummed to see such limited number of faces on charge3.  Here is my quick suggestion via excel 🙂  Basically the Charge2 one a lot of people like (myself included) merged with the new time.  Also, I like having day of week instead of month because I can usually remember the month, but not the day of week.  Oh, couldn't find a wingding symbol for feet..... lol

Could you please tell us how many thousand votes we need to move this suggestion from "Under Consideration", to "Doing Something", or whatever the next category is ... if there is one of course.

This has now got beyond any form of humour.

Please, at the very least say "Yes we are going to do something" or "No we can't be bothered".

Currently, your users are just giving up.

What's the problem ? Has your programmer got too much homework from school and doesn't have the spare couple of hours it takes to meet our requests ?

Lets face it, designing a simple watch face is not rocket science. We are not talking about control of a nuclear power station, or a space shuttle. This is something any competent programmer could do in his sleep.

Whatever the reason please say SOMETHING !!!

@daveg208 Goodluck!still hope we aren’t waiting 9months like changing the adventures challenges that got just on one post over 2,600.00 votes not including the other similar post.earlier this year they said they were going to ad or do something about adventure challenges and all they did was take away New York.They said it was coming change but had no idea how long it would take?🤷‍:female_sign:Still waiting 9 months later.I think in the last year Fitbit sucks with challenges,charge 3 and good customer relations.I always recommended Fitbit I don’t now until I see some change!

I see the addition of the Steps Date clock/watch face with the most recent firmware update, but I would like to see an HR Date clock/watch face as well. Essentially the heart rate would replace the steps in the same layout. The three most important stats I want to be able to see at a glance is the digital time, date, and my heart rate. Thanks for your time.
