More clock/watch faces for the Charge 3!

So, the Charge 3 is out and there is a huge let down:

There are only 5 clock/watch faces:charge 3 clock.png

Come on Fitbit...at least include all the Charge 2 watch faces too. We all loved the Charge 2 watch face with the time, date and the highlighted feature (steps/heart rate etc.)

Whats missing:

- Faces with the actual DATE and DAY

- Faces with a DIGITAL SECONDS TIMER

Or to say it again, just include the Charge 2 watch faces. Thanks in advance.

Mid February, still no clock face that shows the Time/Date/HR/Steps all on one display like the Charge 2.

Everyone has been asking for this...

Still doesn't appear to have even been acknowledged by Fitbit as a priority. No feedback if they are planning to add this

I agree that the very large numbers for the time is ugly.

Thanks. I wanted to paste a specific Charge2 clock face picture to ask if it's available on the Charge3, but the *ugly* UI for doing so does not work. I'm starting to notice a pattern here 🙂

On the Android app, I use the third clock face shown--the sample shows "12" in big font in the top row, "NOV 27" in small font in the middle/second row, and "50" in big font in the bottom/third row. Is that one available?

Am looking to upgrade to the Charge 3 but will not until we have better clock faces like the Double Stat from the Charge 2.

Smart decision.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with several of the commenters suggesting adding a clock face with time, date, HR, steps readable by over 40 crowd. Just like about everyone else, Charge 2 has much better clock faces, so as a previous Software Engineering VP/Director/Manager to the PM team, rule #1, don't take away useful features from previous versions, Also, swiping left on Charge 3 won't rotate back around to the first option like Charge 2, again, taking away another useful feature, please restore it.

I know those who had a Charge 2 are insistent about having that date - but really it's a stagnant daily item that shouldn't be needed all day. I look at my phone once in the morning and I know the date for the rest of the day and I'm old enough to forget. 🙂

I also am very nearsighted, especially for my age, so the font size hasn't been an issue for me. I still say there should be better options for the face display that include steps and heart rate being visible at the same time as a clock face or some other clock other than that big ugly off set large display of hours and minutes. They could even make it so we could switch them around so the larger font in the middle is the item we prefer to see that size. I think most people (not that I did a survey) would like to have a good visual of their ongoing step count.

That being said, all of this is moot for me if they don't fix their accelerometer issue. When taking short walks around my kitchen or house I continue to be cheated out of about 75% of my steps. Sometimes it's a full 100% that aren't there.  I've gone over it, doing all the steps Fitbit wanted me to do, and they are now sending me a new "pebble" as I now know the tracker hardware is called. If that doesn't solve my problem the Fitbit Charge 3 will have to be returned to REI where I got it with a full 90 day return period (double the Fitbit return period). That will be the end of my 6+ years with Fitbit since the ONE is no longer made. I was only willing to use a wrist tracker for the waterproof feature of the swim tracker which happens to work perfectly for that purpose.

I suspect more people have a step counting problem than know it. It works fine for long walks, once the accelerometer gets going. It's those short little few steps around the house that are never enough to get the thing going. I find I need 10 or more steps at most times to trigger the accelerometer to start counting. And it doesn't catch up - those steps being uncounted forever.

Apparently this was an option when they first released the Charge 3. I wonder why they eliminated it? This is EXACTLY what I would like to have. This is much more attractive than the only clock now available with these two stats showing. Those are the stats I want to see. I don't need a date.Screen Shot 2019-02-15 at 2.32.07 PM.png

@mommabeany and others insisting that there is no need for a date, with all due respect, it's not your place to tell anyone else what they want or do not want on their clock faces. It's also why there are several clock faces to choose from, if you don't like the one with time, date, HR and steps, then by all means DON'T use it, it's that simple but stop tell the rest of us what we want or don't want.

I don’t have the choice to opt out of the date and have heart rate and steps instead.

I had that choice before.

I’m not trying to take away YOUR choice. I’m trying to get Fitbit to provide more options so that we can BOTH have the choice of the face we would like.

So what’s your point in saying that the date is a stagnant daily item that shouldn’t be needed all day. That might be the case for you but certainly not so for plenty of others judging from the other commenters.

As I said before I’m not trying to eliminate your choice. I’m trying to get Fitbit to create3 more choices so that we all can have the choices we want. I had the option to have heart rate and steps before. Fitbit took it away and replaced it with a date, which I don’t need when I’m exercising. I’d just like them to let me have my option back. They don’t have to take any the option you want.

Yes I understand that we are all asking Fitbit for our respective options but just so you know, your original comment prefixed with charge 2 users came across as judgy IMO.

Sorry about that.. I was speaking for those of us who use Fitbit primarily to monitor our exercise. I was angry that my preferred option was replaced with a date, which I don’t need when I’m exercising.

Fitbit put a scroll on the bottom instead. It’s impossible to scroll through the various options when you're exercising; you have to stop to scroll which is annoying.

My request is that Fitbit add more options to satisfy various individual’s wishes. It’s easy enough to do.

I agree. I need the time, date, steps and heartbeat on the Charge 3, just like it is on the Charge 2 I’m currently wearing whilst the Charge 3 charges.

That would be nice!

Then we would all be happy. That’s what ai’m hoping Fitbit figures out.

Apologies accepted, your comment came on the heels of another person who said "How many times a day do you need to check the date?" and I was already annoyed when I saw it. Similarly, I was annoyed like you when I discovered that Fitbit removed a useful clock face for my needs and this might come as a surprise to you but I also use it primarily for exercise; I frequent the gym plus hike on the weekends regularly BUT I also travel a lot to different time zones and when I am jet lagged, it's hard to remember the date even if I saw it once or twice already. That said, we all deserve to get back the optimal clock face for each of our needs and this is not a hard software change.

One other annoying thing is that the Charge 3 UI requires more touches to do the same thing as Charge 2. Hey, please tell the PM and developers that less is more unless you are an overweight guy wearing a speedo on the beach.

Thanks. I agree. Fitbit needs to get on the ball and generate more options to satisfy our varying needs. It’s not that hard. There’s NO reason why they can’t provide more options and choices.

I can see that I most users are looking and waiting for the clock face that has time, date, HR, and steps..

Please fitbit, do something on this..  your device has so much hardware problems already, please do compensate in software level.. if you can't make the clock face, then at least allow us to create our own even if it includes coding..

One other thing, the firmware is buggy, when I snoozed the alarm 3 times today, the screen stopped responding for several minutes, it won't come on when I hit the button. After a while, I noticed that notifications stopped working and I had to reset the device to get it working again.

I didn't mean to offend anyone with my comment about not needing to look at the date again. I never had a Charge 2. I simply noticed that when they added the date back to the Charge 3, they actually eliminated other options for those of us who only use it as an exercise device - that is showing the heart rate and steps in addition to an attractive clock interface. I agree with artaran about needing more options for exercise and not being able to scroll through a list mid workout. We should be able to arrange the best features we need for our own needs in a font we can see. I did comment that I don't need a larger font for my nearly 60 year old eyes. I'm nearsighted.  But I realize others do need large fonts and not just for the time of day. It's options we need. When everyone insisted on having a date showing, it took away options for the rest of us when Fitbit added the date back to almost all watch faces.

We need options. Good ones.

@_whataboutbob will you point me in the direction of a user interface that shows date, time, heart rate and steps? I don't see that as an option. I have only one option for time, heart rate, and steps. And it's not an attractive one. There are multiple faces with the date. I simply mean that I do NOT need a date on my tracker. I'd like other choices that don't show a date. I don't think they should take the date away from you if you need that as part of your fitness tracker.

At this point, I'd really like it if I didn't get cheated out of 75% of my step log while walking about my house or yard during a normal day - date or no date.  The Fitbit ONE always counted steps from the very first one. As does the Fitbit ZIP which doesn't do much of anything else. The Charge 3 is not so great.

Agree. AndI don’t blame the people who wanted dates. I blame Fitbit for removing options rather than simply adding options.

It’s all electronics.Tthey can put in as many options as they want for almost no cost.

So Fitbit, why did you feel the need to remove options, instead of just adding options?
