Restore the ability of users to control audio playback from their smartphone through music controls on the Sense 2/Versa 4. This is a basic feature on previous models that has been removed.

PLEASE bring back the music controls. I just bought a Versa 4 because my Versa 2 wore out, and I never even thought to look to see if the feature was included. It seems so basic, especially for a fitness app! I would not have bought it had I known. I would have bought one of the remaining Versa 2s. Please, please bring this back or this will be my last Fitbit!
I was very disappointed about the music control feature missing on my versa 4. As a fitness instructor it is very useful to have for stopping and starting music from my phone which is usually halfway across the room. My versa 2 was finally done so I upgraded thinking like many others that that feature was surely included. This makes me think about changing to another brand as well. I feel like this is not a challenging feature to keep. If you can talk on the watch why can’t I start and stop music too?!
Taking away the ability to control music from the watch is a huge down grade from versa 3 to 4. Why make a newer version of the watch just to give it way less features. It makes it completely not worth getting it. I wish I just bought another versa 3 or switched to an Apple Watch when my old one broke.
Hello there's better earbuds with clicking buttons you can use to replace this or simply move onto a different Smartwatch company the screen looks fine premium and professional feeling to me. Even I'm having issues with understanding Versa 4 and I miss the Versa 3 the haptic button wasn't that bad but I moved onto other things and wanting to reclaim back most of what I used growing up I find this stuff to be more bling for your Smartphone than anything nothing against them but I'm just about to go to the route with a regular watch and pocket watch. I keep my phone in my jacket pocket a lot for music, entertainment, and making phone calls I wish Google would fix the time clock mostly I am perfectly fine without the media control as my phone can do the rest as of now it's based on preference hope you don't give up on your Versa 4 as well I will take respect on how good the screen display looks.

This topic has exceeded 700 votes and we are on our way to 800 votes. How many votes are missing before Fitbit introduces a basic feature like music control via widget? We don't ask too much, just show the song, the ability to change tracks, to put play/pause and, if possible, it would also be nice to adjust the volume. However, it shouldn't be anything abstruse in 2023, and by doing so you could demonstrate that you actually update and support the devices already on the market, and not abandon them like other manufacturers.

I thought I upgraded from Versa 2 to Versa 4 but what a huge downgrade and disappointment this is. I used the music control feature to adjust the volume and skip songs on my phone almost daily. I will be returning this and buying an older Versa 2 or 3.
For the love of god, why wouldn’t this be on something categorized as under the “smart watch” line. Not so smart lol please bring this functionality . I used the Spotify app on my ionic . This is the second issue so far “upgrading”. Starting to regret upgrading my Fitbit.
I very much would like to see this, and other apps added back to the versa4.
I was excited to find that if I enable notifications on my audio player (Spotify, PodcastAddict, etc) I got play/pause and skip buttons as well as currently playing track name in the notification on the phone, which is almost a viable workaround, but unfortunately the notification does.not seem to reliably update when the track changes and if you swipe it away it doesn't come back on the next track. But it's better than nothing I guess... Definitely still want real audio controls though.
I feel frustrated and cheated that the Sense does not control music the way my Versa did. I have to keep my phone near me at the gym and pick it up and go to those apps on my phone, wasting time. I thought getting the Sense was a step up… so far I feel like this was a way worse option. Between the lack of music control, and the fact that my Sense does not want to sync ever. It has been a headache and a major disappointment. I’ve been wearing Fitbit for 10 years…. The trouble I’ve had with Sense has made me want to switch brands.
We've been giving feedback on the need to bring back the music control feature for a year and there has been no update from @Fitbit. I don't want to think this has been a waste of everyone's time
Here's another request for the Versa 4 to have music controls. For crying outloud @Fitbit , it's 2023. I can go buy an Amazon watch, an Apple watch, or darn near EVERY OTHER SMART WATCH, and control music on my watch. I have been a Fitbit user for more than a decade now starting with the first Fitbit Flex. I now use an iPhone, I get it that you're a Google device, but anyone who uses a smart watch for exercise needs to be able to control music *while exercising*. Seriously. If you don't fix this quickly, I'm returning this and I'll gladly pay more for an Apple Watch. Get with the 21st century.
I unfortunately did return my Versa 4, and went back to my Versa 2 while I look for another option. Since I am a Samsung user, I will most likely end up getting a Samsung smart watch.
It's really too bad. I've also been a long time Fitbit user, but since they seem to want to push their Google watch, they are pushing out the loyal customer.
Wow, so glad I decided to google this. Was just about to order a Versa 4 (upgrade from my Versa 2 that I've had since 2019). Not allowing music controls is a deal breaker for me. Why on Earth would they make that decision? Makes zero sense. Sticking with my Versa 2.
