Very disappointed that offline personal music is not a feature. I bought this to replace my aging Pebble after trying out a friends Versa 2.  I thought I was getting an upgrade from both the 2 and my Pebble. Turns out I will still have to carry my phone to exercise outside with my watch still.

It's inceredible, music is a must have. Also on the Versa 3 box was not clear this restriction  . Only for this inlogical FitBit decisions i have to switch to a more serius brand like Garmin.

I was looking to upgrade my Fitbit. I have had quite a few in the past and upgrade constantly.  I read so many online reviews online for sense and none mentioned the fact that you can’t store music.  How was that not a con? How did none of these so called reviews not mention this fact. After all these comments what is fit bit going to do ? Are they willing to lose customers to Garmin or Apple? For the price of the sense which is over $300 that is ridiculous that music is not included , as well as you are already paying a subscription fee or have already paid for your music.     So Fitbit what is your response to your customers?

It is outrageous that a device at the price point of the Sense can not offer a simple function such as playing music without the smartphone nearby in 2020!. There are devices below the 100 USD range that can do this and more for years now! What is the purpose of having devices like the Sense with all the bells and whistles which can not perform super BASIC tasks for sports tracker such as playing music independently or even controlling the music during a sport session without interrupting it (even with the smartphone nearby this is currently not possible!!!!)? You build bells and whistles on the top of basic functionalities not scraping them! Please consider this seriously and provide Sense with offline music capabilities, or at least with Spotify!.

Absolutely ridiculous that you now can’t add your own music to the Versa 3/Sense it’s like downgrading the watch not upgrading.

Fitbit listen to your customers and sort it out and add this function back with a update! The watch’s are expensive and you can buy cheaper ones that offer this function!!

Not everyone can pay for streaming services.

You’re going to lose a lot more customers because of this! & Judging by all the complaints you have lost loads already.

I just read a news that fitbit is releasing (only usa and canada now) an update of the fw which among other things also has the possibility of using google assistant, but no mp3 offline ...

What was the reasoning for this? Was there not enough room where Fitbit had to tradeoff offline music storage for the onboard GPS feature?

Or was this a desperate partnership deal trying to revive Pandora and Deezer? Why couldn't Fitbit at least use more prominent music providers such as Spotify or Amazon music?

I just found out today the Versa 3 does NOT allow for storage of music!! Are you kidding me??? After my previous Versa  died at 532 days old!!! I was excited about its arrival Monday, now NOT. why would they downgrade features?!?

Unless that is going to change it will be a Return to sender!!!

looking at other options now.

Anyone know about the Forerunner

I was very disappointed to hear that the onboard music storage was removed. I was going to upgrade to the Sense or Versa 3, but wanted to wait for the reviews to come in first. I'm glad I waited. I'll stick to my Versa 2. I wanted to upgrade this year too, so I'm also trying out the Garmin Venu Sq Music. One thing I know for sure though is that I won't be going back to FitBit until this feature is back.

I don't get their reasoning of that downgrade.

This is a crazy downgrade, man who take this decision should be fired asap, OMG FitBit!!!

Fess up!

How many of us here have actually returned the product or actually not bothered buying as a result of this feature not being included? Just wondering if there actually has been an impact on the sales.

I've not yet returned mine, but I will be if nothing is done before 31 Jan 2021, which is when Amazon is telling me I can return it by. I'm actually thinking of doing it sooner because the Apple Series 3 is the same price as the Versa 3, and the Apple watch SE is cheaper than the Sense. So, both are pretty much like-for-like with features that I desire apart from the obvious music storage capability!

It's Fitbit's arrogance and contempt for their customers which has forced me to this decision. You can have the best business in the world, but if you show a lack of respect and appreciation to your customers, your business fails. I know plenty of serious sportsmen and women that see Fitbit as a gimmicky, couch potato device and much prefer the likes of Suunto or Garmin, so at this rate, they will never break into a serious sports person's arena.

I have an adaption to a well-known saying: "First impressions last... but, last impressions first!"

I am considering returning because of this. But also because of the ABYSMAL experience I had with their customer service in the past couple of weeks. Their website glitched and didn't even include my full order - and is sending to my billing address even though I specified another shipping address. They basically told me there's nothing they can do and refused to escalate the issue. Not to mention, the promotion email they sent me for a new Fitbit (after mine stopped working suddenly) was completely deceptive. I used to be a huge fan of Fitbit - but they are not customer-centred right now, as demonstrated by the decision to remove music storage. I'm shocked and disappointed in the brand as a whole.

Agreed, please allow Sense to storage Music (mp3) just like Ionic, Versa, Versa 2. I have canceled my order and will not purchase until this change is made. Why have GPS without this???

@adventurelife06 I know Fitbit allows 45 days for a return, but I bought through Amazon and their last return date stipulates 31 Jan 2021. Anyway, that's by-the-by as I've already decided to return it. I just need to factory reset it, fill in the returns form on Amazon, and then physically send it back!

I'm going for an Apple watch SE. I didn't want to as I have been using Apple products since 1986, and I have so many Apple products but feel fanboyish with so many products and they are extortionately expensive, but they do last for years. Then I realised that the Apple watch SE was actually cheaper than the sense, but it came out after I bought my Versa 3, so to me it's a no-brainer now to send this back and go with something that actually does what I want it to do. Water-resistant, GPS and music.

You have many upset customers who are buying other products because versa 3 and sense do not have own music downloads

The worst thing is not just that we are being ignored... Is that Deezer, the only service available in Europe, is also not working and it's not possible to synchronize the smartwatch with the service since two weeks ago. And guess what? They also don't answer to that issue...

My order hasn’t even arrived yet but I realized that I don’t want to wait for FirBit to correct this problem either is an update software or in next year’s model. There are so many other fitness trackers that include the same features and doesn’t hide specific features behind a premium membership. I’m returning my Sense order as soon as it arrives (without even trying it on). The lack of music storage for me is a good enough reason for me to purchase a Garmin vivoactive instead.

Fitbit needs to make this functionality that available on Versa 3. Hope that this can be corrected with a future OS software update. Fitbit will lose potential sales because can't store personal music files directly on Versa 3.

Wow, I’m glad I found this out tonight. Planned on getting my wife the Versa 3 but without music storage it is a 100% deal breaker. Back to Apple Watch

Blimey Fitbit... you got a stay of execution today!

Last night I processed the return of my Versa 3 to Amazon... this morning I find out that my daughter has COVID-19 and self-isolation regulations in the UK mean that I am not allowed out of my house for two weeks!

It's going to be a long hard wait to get rid of this thing, so I shall use it with the knowledge that it's effectively a free fitness tracker because I'm getting my money back!

Allow the user to upload their own playlists to the Fitbit Sense. I currently own the Fitbit Ionic which allows me to upload my own playlists. I do not want to pay a monthly fee for Pandora or Spotify to listen to music. I will purchase a Fitbit Sense when it incorporates the same features the Ionic currently employs for uploading music.

Hi @DurangoKen, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to storage music on Sense. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Wow, just cannot believe this is not available on the Sense. I was moments away from placing an order for Christmas but this is kind of a big deal! 😞 Back to the drawing board 😞

Fitbit will be losing LOTS of sales for  Versa 3 because lack of this feature. Before needed to have your phone with you because there was no GPS in the watch but you could store music on the watch. Now they add GPS into the watch but remove the ability for local music storage meaning you still have to have your phone with you!!!
