Naming/Labeling Alarms

Hello,

Wouldn't it be nice if you allow us to name the silent alarms? For example: an alarm to wake up, one to drink water, food, one to remind me of something such as an important meeting, etc...

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

I can't believe this is still not a feature if the original request was 3 years old. Just bought charge 2 and disappointed with its lack of some basic features.

Found a workaround though.

Set a calendar event in the default calendar with a short text. Make sure to add alert. When it is time, charge2 will vibrate and show the calendar event name on screen. That's the closest thing to having a label on silent alarm.

Yes!! Alarm labels would be amazing! I use them on my Blaze but often have no clue why I set it and just hit snooze (as a bad habit).

Plus also the possitbily to use Fitbit (Charge 2) as an alarm clock with the possibility to set different alarm clocks for each day of the week !!

In searching for this feautre there are many others with alternative names.

Any chance of combining them and counting up the votes?

Your default calendar on your device will send you a notification with the name of the event. You can set it to repeat every day. It's basically the same as setting an alarm.

Will that make my Fitbit hr buzz when not on near my phone and display the alarm name?

I haven't tried that yet. It will send it to you if your Bluetooth is on, and wifi off and you're within range. I don't know if it will work if you're away from your device... let me know how that works out.

I've got fair bit of experience with this sort of thing, and tested it any way.

Unsurprisingly, doesn't work.

That's probably why there are so many posts on this topic asking for it. (And the other similar topics I mentioned)

Whilst I appreciate you we're 'only trying to help' you actually we're actually any thing but helpful.

I would highly recommend testing your own advice personally before committing it to the everlasting internet.

That would actually be helpful, rather than just trying to be.

Currently, when you create an alarm online, you can't add a message.  It would be nice to see a short message with the alarm.

This would be a Fitbit designed for the elderly Parents/ People who would like/need reminders for wake up, meal times breakfast, lunch and dinner, medication times maybe four times a day that do not coincide with meal time all through the convenience of a vibrating wristband that is not only a watch but a reminder tool easily programmed from your phone or pc. The step counter and heart rate monitor would provide them useful information of their activity for the day. But don’t stop there the sleep logging is a great feature to track your sleeping habits and make improvements for a better nights rest. What son or Daughter wouldn’t want their Mom or Dad to have one on their wrist? Not only is it a practical gift but functional too.

Features would include some of the current HR features with the addition of messages for the alarms:

Wake up/ Bedtime Alarm with scrolling message & vibrating wristband

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner Alarm with scrolling message “Meal Time” & vibrating wristband

Medications morning, afternoon, and evening Alarm with scrolling message “Med Time” & vibrating wristband

If connected to their Cell phone – Display of caller name/number in scrolling message & vibrating wristband

Call reminder:

Alarm set: Alarm Repeats:

Heart Rate monitor:

Sleep tracker:

Step monitor:

Fitbit Share: Share info link to family members Fitbit

This is awesome for the family member to link up and see in real time what is really going on.

Just how would the parent feel to see that their son, daughter or family member linked to their Fitbit performance and visa versa?

Fitbit you have a great product and I hope these ideas can be incorporated to assist those who want to stay on top with Fitbit Assist.

Thank you for your time, have a great day.

It would be good to have an option for a message to appear on the screen when you set an alarm. Like if you set an alarm for a meeting at work for noon. It could say that there is a meeting at work.

It would be helpful to be able to add text to an alarm so when the Fitbit goes off you can see it on the display.

I would like to suggest being able to "name" the silent alarms on the app. It would be very helpful for people with multiple alarms to identify what that particular alarm is for. The "name" could scroll across the screen instead of an alarm bell such as "Take your Medicine", or "Pick up Kids" etc. it would be very helpful!

I agree- I had surgery a few days ago, and need to take some medication every few hours.  I thought about using the Charge HR, but I had to set a specific time of day, and only 8 such alarms are allowed.

Sure, I could use a kitchen timer, but they're noisy and need to be reset.

Something like an elapsed time meter-set the interval, start and stop qtys per day, and time range.  (Every four hours starting at 4pm, 6 total times per day, for example.)

This would be a great feature.  I use my Fitbit to remind me to drink water and take supplements.  Having labels would be much easier than trying to remember what each alarm was for.

Would love to be able to set different step goals for different days. For instance for me Sunday is a rest day, and instead of having a goal of 15,000 steps I would like to have it at 7500 or 10,000.

Want to be able to add a message to the various silent alarms too. Work two jobs, setting silent alarms for various things, yet sometimes when they go off I may been so tired/busy I didn't remember what day it was - or for what the alarm was about.

Like I have 2 silent alarms to let me know I should think about heading back home to get ready for the weekend/evening job on certain days, then a last moment reminder to get ready for work. Better to have a silent alarm as one of my jobs I'm interviewing households and a smartphone alarm woould be disturbing.
So could have one alarm set as "3 hours before work" and the other "time to get changed".

Then on Friday nights have an alarm set to remind me to get to bed, as have church in the morning. Then on Saturday mornings have an alarm to get me going to get ready for church.
So set on to "get ready for bed" and the morning alarm set as "Get ready for church".

And other various alarms to remind me for exercising, appointments, and such - each with a short "text message" of sorts.

The Charge 2 already has text messaging, caller ID, and such. Should not be that difficult to allow a rename for alarms so one can justify hat the alarm was about in moments when you're busy or dead tired.

How has this thread been in suggestion for over 2 years now and Fitbit STILL hasn't been able to provide such an update to the firmware/software on its devices???? When will we get to name what we are setting alarms for???!!!

sometimes i will set an alarm and ten later forget what it was for when it goes off. because of this, i believe that we should be able to name our alarms. and when the alarm goes off, it should say what it was instead of just "alarm."
