Naming/Labeling Alarms

Hello,

Wouldn't it be nice if you allow us to name the silent alarms? For example: an alarm to wake up, one to drink water, food, one to remind me of something such as an important meeting, etc...

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Manual entry of additional topics and sub-topics, with possibility to set alarms (schedule).

Such as to register (topic):

  • Medicine intake (specific medicine could be a sub-topic)

And set alarm when it should be taken.

This could also allow to schedule when to:

  • drink water
  • have a snack

Love my new Fitbit Alta HR with your APP (would be perfect if it could be used to track swimming also;) and your community approach!

Depending on the tracker iOS should have the ability to send calendar events to the tracker.

I know its been suggested before but for me to justify the cost of my Blaze I really need to be able to add text to my alarms. Would like to know if its on the horizon ?

I highly agree with adding names with the alarm clock app/dashboard.  I take meds and have some personal issues I have to handle due to my medical condition.  One of those is being a veteran and setting alarms to report to doctors.  Those few items, shows how important it is for me to have labels to each alarm.

Jawbone has this ability.  You can even read texts on fitbit.  Seems like such an easy fix for them.

I would add your vote to the existing request that showed up in the search that was done before making this request.

I'd like to see an edit button on alarms, so when it notifies you, you know what the alarm is for. Also, if you could select more than one message to receive notifications, such as messages, and Facebook messenger, as well as BBM. Then you can get notified from all messenger apps.

Alarm titles would help people with ADHD, Autism, and more! Though, going too far out of the $120 price range would defeat the purpose. I would rather have a well made watch that already supports this feature. I forget why I made an alarm all the time.

I don’t understand why this wouldn’t just be a simple software upgrade — all on the hardware required is already there in any Fitbit product that supports “chatter”

I've have been wondering the same for years.

Hello.

May I suggest that since we are able to set silent reminders for the Fitbit Alta, if we could also set silent reminders that included text! For example, I want to set my Fitbit to remind me every Wednesday at 7:00 PM to watch a TV show! So when my Fitbit reminder goes off, not only will it vibrate, but it will also display text such as “watch tv show”.

I can't support this suggestion more strongly.

Really easy change, and super super functional.

Hi @the_cyberdude! Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. Could be very useful indeed! We look forward to hearing what other community members think.

When a silent alarm goes off on your Fitbit Blaze, all it says is “Look Alive.” I use these frequently throughout the day to remind myself to do something but I can never remember what it is to do. I’m sure this has been suggested before but what about adding a custom text feature to the Fitbit App? That way when it sets off an alarm, we’ll know what it’s for.

Hi, all, You know I love all these suggestions; they are really interesting. However, keep in mind that the more "toys," i.e. "bells and whistles" are added to the Blaze, the heavier the load on the software, demand on the battery (shorter life), and more opportunities for stuff to go wrong.

I speak from experience with a Microsoft Band 2 which had most every toy imaginable and was a very cool tracker. The battery died and would not recharge after less than a year. It was under warranty and when I sent it for repair, I learned that Microsoft was no longer manufacturing the Band 2. So, when you want color changes to your clock face, or different words on the alarm, just think about the workload on the equipment. I would like to have my Blaze for a long time, so I'll do without some of the "toys."

Agreed, I'd like custom text options

I agree with those above who have been suggesting for years that the alarms be set up to allow for a small amount of text or a label. I just bought a charge 2 for my son and this is exactly what he needs. Has there been any feedback from Fitbit as to why this isn't a feature? Thanks. E

Having the ability to name the alarms seems like something that they would already have?! Please add this feature!!

Yes, this feature for the Silent Alarms would be great! I have a difficult time remembering what the alarms are for when I set more than one. Please make an option for this in a future Charge 2 update! Thanks.

I don't really care about naming the alarms, I just want more - at least 10 or 12.  But for some reason my post got merged with this one.

It would be very helpful to be able to name my Silent Alarms. I often have to set several Silent Alarms throughout the day to do different things, but now, when the alarm goes off and vibrates on my wrist, I often don’t know what the alarm is for. It would be very helpful to be able to name the Silent Alarms. The text that is used for the names could appear and/or scroll across the Fitbit Charge 2 display, just like the text message content appears currently. Currently, a bell symbol appears whenever a Silent Alarm goes off, but it would be great to replace that with the name of the Alarm. For example: “Take out trash”, “Leave for work”, Deposit check”, etc.
Thank you!

Please create an option to label the Silent Alarms so that you can set multiple alarms per day to help with daily routine & time management. It's hard to utilize multiple alarms with no labels and remember what each alarm is for. Thanks!
