Naming/Labeling Alarms

Hello,

Wouldn't it be nice if you allow us to name the silent alarms? For example: an alarm to wake up, one to drink water, food, one to remind me of something such as an important meeting, etc...

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

+1 for alarm note as reminder feature. And please add more alarm slots! Reminder sync with phone's reminders will be awesome too! Cheers!

An easy way to implement this would be to show your phone's calendar notifications. I book short appointments in my calendar as personal reminders with a notification (also nice that I can look back to see when things in my life happened based on these calendar entries).

+1, would like to name one that says Water so when it goes off I remember that I need to drink my water versus an alarm that reminds me to take kid to dance class, etc.

Any update on this? I have two alarms set right now, but they would be MUCH more useful if they also told me what they were for in my app. (Even MORE useful if a word scrolled on my watch band, like "Walk" or "Water." If we could name them, I'd be more inclined to make use of them. Right now it's like wearinng a string on your finger to remind you to do something and later you look down and wonder why there's a string on your finger. Almost helpful, but not quite there.

Hello. I would like the ability to label or name the silent alarms I set into my Charge HR. It would be nice to know why my alarm is going off.

Dear Fitbit,

I recently purchased the Charge HR, for my mom and uncle, and a surge for myself and i am enjoying it very much.
Although, I do have a suggestion to make which other users might also find useful, and which might not be so hard for you guys to implement.
As a forgetful person, I often find myself forgetting to do this or that thing. My mom forgets to take her pills on time. With the Charge HR having the ability to notify calls, as well as to act as an alarm, I assume that it would also be relatively easy for the HR to notify users of reminders on things they have to do. Users would put reminders in the application in addtion to a time and date, and the HR would then vibrate and show the reminder similarly to when it notifies a phone call.
This is something that i would find very useful.

Thanks,

This would be really useful for things like Go to Meeting or Parking running out ... Surely should be possible to add as it's more of a software extension not hardware driven solution.

Fingers crossed 🙂

On the Charge HR when the alarm goes off it would nice to add a message something brief to the alert, such as Doctor's Appointment, Go to the Gym, or a Pill reminder as you already have some message scroll across the screen such hoot,or hello when the band is removed from charging. Just a suggestion

Since my CHARGE HR takes the place of my watch ... This would be FANTASTIC

Alarm names would rock! Helpful for kids with ADHD; every 20 min alarm: "Pay Attention" buzz. There are WatchMinders out there, but FitBit is way cooler!

When it comes to the alarm feature, allow for it to have a message/description that scrolls through once or twice when the alarm goes off to remind you the reason you set the alarm!

With a fitbit you can set an alarm, but it does not have any message on it. An idea would to have a "reminder" feature where the wrist band vibrates and has a custom message of what you need to say at this point of time, for example you could use this to remeber when you need to start cooking dinner you could set a "reminder" which could alert you to put dinner in the oven.

Also, in TILES, can we have a tile that shows all active alarms with a short label for each?

This would be so wonderful. Us busy parents could really benefit from this function. I have a child with diabetes and sometimes you need to check bilood at all hours of the day/night.

I came to submit this very suggestion but found this. I have tons of alarms set on my phone for different things but can't move them to my Fitbit because I'd never remember what each one is for.

It would be wonderful if you can feed alarms using GOOGLE CALENDAR.

So you can be notified for appointments, with the alarm that buzz few minutes before the appintment starts. What do you think about integrating alarms with google calendar ?

I love the discrete silent alarms, however I hate that we can not title the alarms. please allow us to title them!

I'm also interested in named alarms.  I noticed that Web API for Devices -> Alarms -> Update Alarm includes an optional "label" parameter.

https://dev.fitbit.com/docs/devices/#update-alarm

I'm curious if this is already implemented? Would this label show up on FitBit Charge if I wrote an app to set it (since I don't see any options to set it otherwise)?

UPDATE (2015-09-23):

Unfortunately the "label" parameter get's ignored on my FitBit Charge even though I've managed to set it on the fitbit server with a custom app. I imagine the firmware will need an update before it can work.

Any updates from FitBit on when we can expect this feature to work?

I don't use Google Calendar, so i'm not sure how that would work. I still like the idea of being able to name alarms, but the name would need to be cryptic enough to fit on the display--and probably most folks wouldn't name a meeting that way in a regular calendar like Google or Outlook. Syncing with another calendar isn't as important to me as being able to give each alarm a short name just for the purposes of the tracker. I enter all my alarms (other than the repeating ones) in the dashboard first thing each morning, which also helps me get a feel for the day.

I agree with this, Alarm names would be amazing feature.

Please implement, would bring up the usage of the alarms.
