New Simple, Long Battery Life, Clip Fitbit

If we are trying to get people moving than Fitbit needs a Back to Basics model. The elderly or those who don't want to track sleep, heartbeat, gps, music and that sort of thing really need a quality basic model. This model should have Clip, lanyard option and the hook up for the bands. The step count accuracy of "Fitbit One" was very high. It has been my favorite out of all the fitness trackers I've had. I can't wear bands on my wrist, I never wear bracelets or watches. Those models had to be put in a pocket which was less than convenient. Here is what I am hoping for in a fitness tracker.

1.Accuracy in counting steps 2. Stair climbing counter 3. For the tracker to be small and clip comfortably to the middle of my bra. 4. estimated calorie burn 5. 2 week battery life like the fitbit One. 6. A button to click through the features quickly 7. The clip to come in various colors and at least one clip to be included with the purchase 8. a clock 9. waterproof for swimming

I also think that to improve any current models it would be amazing if we could go to our dashboard and shut off all the features we don't use to save battery life.

They have long since given up on listening to what we want.  A clip on that counts stairs should not be difficult.  They just released the Charge4.  Once again, not listening to the people that helped get them where they are.  I sent a lengthy email to corporate with the support of one of these threads.  It compiled all of the reasons why we needed a clip on and the disadvantages of wearing one on the wrist.  Happy to share it with the group if they think it may be of any help.  That thread had over 31 pages before they closed it out and said suggestion has been solved as they released the Inspire which you had to buy a separate clip for.  But, it does not do stairs.  So, they keep starting new threads and closing out ones that have gained traction.

Congratulations LizFitbit. I honestly didn't think Fitbit could plumb the depths of uselessness any further than it already has but you proved me wrong.

If you actually bothered to read what people here (you know, the paying customers who ultimately decide whether your company lives or dies) are saying you'd know that the Inspire doesn't meet our needs. And yet you still keep pumping out the same old drivel. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Customers: Hey, how about a product like the One? The Inspire doesn't work for us.

Fitbit: Of course. We've done it already. It's called the Inspire.

Customers: What part of "The Inspire doesn't work for us" did you miss?

Fitbit: We've got a product that does just what you need. It's the Inspire. It comes in a range of pretty colors.

Customers: But it doesn't count floors. We want something that counts floors. The Inspire doesn't meet our needs.

Fitbit: Check out the Inspire. It's great.

If this is the best that customer "service" has to offer I'm glad I bought a Garmin. When my One finally gives up the ghost Fitbit has lost me as a customer, probably forever. Good job Liz.

HikerJohnFirstSteps - well said 😀    I bought an Inspire for my husband, who would not wear anything but a clip-on, but with the intent of testing it against my still perfectly functioning 7-year-old One.  The font is FAR too small on the Inspire, it does not count stairs (which MAYBE I could give up on, but it devalues the device in my opinion) and it does not count any steps when you are pushing a trolley/pushchair.  I tried hacking it for trolley pushing - wearing it on my wrist, set to wrist (inaccurate/doesn't count); wearing it clipped, set to clipped (accurate) and wearing it on my wrist, but set to clipped (inaccurate/doesn't count).  The reason I tried getting it to work on my wrist was because the font is so small, I need it to be where I can get my eyes on it as close as possible, when I don't have my glasses on 😋  All in all, it is inferior to the One by quite a long way.  But we are all wasting our breath here - I find it incredibly frustrating reading Moderators comments, which are as bizarre as pointed out.

Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing this suggestion. We’re very happy to let you know that this was released with the launch of the Fitbit Inspire last year, which has a clip, calories, screen, a variety of colors, step-count, a heart rate version and up to 5 days battery life.

Wow, talk about a complete miss there @LizFitbit

The Inspire is not an equivalent to the One because:

  1. The Inspire clip accessory is a separate purchase.
  2. The Inspire is missing an altimeter so it does not count stairs.
  3. 5 days of battery life does not equal 2 weeks of battery life.

For you to mark this suggestion as "released" and refer to the Inspire is a disservice to unknowing customers.

I rather you be transparent and tell us, "No, we see no value in making a product like the One anymore".

I would at least respect the honesty.

I completely agree. I'm on my fourth One (due to my own negligence!) and wouldn't want any other tracker currently available. If only Fitbit would red-release the One, perhaps as a waterproof model. That would be perfect!

I really wish this wasn't marked as released. They clearly missed "2. Stair climbing counter". I wear clip on trackers and I only use trackers that track stairs/floors climbed. I love my One and just recommended it to my Mom who's starting on her fitness journey, and was so sad to see they are discontinued! Will have to check eBay, as others mentioned, because the Inspire just does not Inspire me at all.

Please bring back a clip on tracker with an altimeter.
