I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
They already said they will not release another clip on device that has features simular to the One or any of thier wrist devices. If you are wearing a clip on device you are not advertising thier product like wearing a wrist band that can be seen. They really don't care what people want, they care about showing off thier product
Today I come up with an ersatz solution. When I bought the Charge 2, I also got a stainless Milanese bracelet to ‘upgrade’ the look a bit.
By removing the magnet end from the Charge 2, I can thread the band around my bra strap and secure it with the magnet. It’s not exactly an elegant solution but it’s actually more accurate with the Charge 2 tucked into the bra.
It counts floors properly and doesn’t seem to care that I live in a standard style house. I do not have 10 feet from one floor to another. It counts steps, not arm movements. (Worn on my wrist, it counted thousands of steps as I sat on my couch crocheting an afghan).
I can now go back to wearing my regular waterproof watch.
I can always track my sleep by putting it on my wrist when I go to bed.
If only they would just make an official clip for the Charge 2 we would all be happy or at least happier.... Does it fit in the middle like the one did? where do you strap it on?
I thread the band under the strap, toward my arm, wrap it back over the strap and fasten it with the magnet on the other side of the strap. This leaves a long enough band to allow for tucking and anchoring the Charge 2 under the bra. As I said, it’s kind of a Rube Goldberg fix but it does work.
The band is long enough to allow pulling the 2 out and viewing it. (You had to actually unclip the One)
Love my ONE. I am just getting back into the weight loss game after the holidays. I am so thankful to have my ONE and fear the day it dies..... FITBIT, please create a replacement product. PLEASE.......
Reading some of the comment above are heart warming. The success that people have had getting their health and weight back on track with the ONE. A small simple device that has had much more praise than wrist devices. I fear the day mine dies.... I may die right with it. I lost 40 pounds in 6 months early on and I owe it to my ULTRA and my ONE. Please FITBIT, make a replacement ONE......
How about creating a TWO???????????????????????????
Fitbit, are you listening? Have you been reading these posts on a daily basis? Every day more of us are posting about the One, telling you how much need there is for this unique tracker - steps, floors, sleep, easily accessible display, accuracy: all in a discreet clip-on device!!! You've got a gem here, why eliminate it from your product line without providing a worthy replacement? We're not going away so please, listen.
Another long-time customer VERY disappointed to hear that the One will be discontinued. I've bought more than half a dozen Ones (between giving them as gifts and putting a few through the wash....) and it's the only tracker I've ever been happy with. I am hoping Fitbit will make a similar product, since I enjoy
Here's what I'm looking for:
- small (wearing it on the bra is perfect)
- clip (I can NOT wear anything on my wrist)
- display
- stairs (the floor count is actually quite a motivator for me)
Sleep tracking and heart rate are less important to me. The clip is the big plus. I'm also hoping to hear about alternatives from other companies - anyone having any luck finding a replacement?
I've searched and searched, but nothing else matches the size, clip-on-style, and ability to count stairs/elevation. I finally ordered a pedometer, but it hasn't arrived. it's quite a bit bigger - we'll see how it goes.
Something tells me they are not listening, or they just don't care. There are posts in this thread from 2013--you would think in 4+ years they would at least say something about all of us who want a tracker like the One.
I purchased a BellaBeat a couple of weeks ago. You can clip it on (even on the outside of your clothes--it's attractive), wear it as a bracelet or a necklace and change the look with different clips, etc. It counts steps and monitors sleep. It vibrates if you are still for too long. But there is no screen that you can check quickly--you have to sync it with your phone to see your stats. The app also has meditations, which actually come in handy when I can't get to sleep or need a little break in my day. I don't use the bracelet or necklace options because I can't wear metal on my skin since chemo.
It has a battery with an average life of 6 months continuous use. No more trying to remember to charge it or losing steps because it isn't charged.
The only thing I miss is the stairs--it doesn't count stairs like the One. But, since I no longer have stairs in my house, it's not as important. I liked that the One could tell elevation differences and convert them to stairs--there are a lot of elevation changes on Colorado trails. But I can use All Trails for that. You can add exercise like you would with Fitbit. It also tracks your stress levels based on activity or inactivity and meditation. For women of child-bearing age, it tracks your reproductive health (i'm way past that, so not sure what this does). It's really not a got fit for men--it's pretty "girly."
Overall, I'm happy with the BellaBeat. I've compared the steps to my dying One, and they are very close--maybe a few steps one way or another. I wanted to have something for when my One totally dies, and this seems to be the only thing I can find that clips on.
Bottom line...I'm pretty much done with Fitbit. They have proven they don't care what their long-time customers want. If they can't even answer this after over four years, that says it all. They apparently had a clip-on option for the "Ultra," according to some older posts, but I can see where they have those Ultras any longer, either. And, if they think their wrist devices are advertisement, they just look like all the others, so there's nothing obvious to tell other people it's a Fitbit.
Agree with you ColoradoRain that FITBIT has been clear that they are done with ONE, ULTRA customers. They suggest the ZIP, which is a joke. I really use the stairs, since it helps keep leg and back muscles strong. I have so many friends that went to apple after no being able to get a replacement ONE, and they don't like it, but deal. I keep holding out that someone will get some smarts at FITBIT and create a new clip like discrete product before they lose a boat load of customers. I did manufacturing in high tech for years and worked closely with our product dev team. I have to say from a business perspective, they must have younger people who need attention by showing of wrist devices must be running the show. I have been a faithful fan of FITBIT and dread the day my ONE dies...... I know the moderators read our comments, but they keep saying there is not enough customer demand to still manufacture a great product. Would love to understand their business perspective on this......
I really don’t understand how Fitbit can continue to think there isn’t a market for a tracker like the One.
Most people in manufacturing cannot wear wrist devices—safety issues. Many people cannot wear metal on the skin. Wrist trackers do not project a professional image. Wrist trackers do not ‘work’ with more formal attire. Wrist trackers are nowhere near as accurate as the One.
Just not a fan of the company APPLE...... wish FITBIT would reconsider and create a replacement product. They said, not enough customer demand or comments out here. Well..... lets flood them with comments, we want a replacement product.....
I had looked at the Bellabeat before... I had found it a little pricey at first. However, I am getting ever so frustrated with my Zip & the lack of a One or something like it... I think I will go with the BellaBeat, and it is ever-more intriguing me!. I like the look of the Nature one better, but for just $20 more, the Urban is water resistant... I don't really need that though. Of course, if I were to be caught in a sudden rain, I think I would wish I had bought that one.
Is it pretty easy to clip to clothes? I don't think I'd wear it as a bracelet or a necklace at all. I don't like the lack of a display screen (I think that is a big reason I stopped considering it before), but everything else = awesome!
I looked at the BellaBeat…it, like every other clip-on I could find does not track floors—big negative for me. The only reason I reluctantly got a Charge 2 was because my One finally died and I definitely wanted a tracker that counts floors. I now wear it in my bra so it will track steps and floors accurately—and I hate wearing it on my wrist since it is too big and kind of ugly.
I don’t understand why Fitbit thinks there wouldn’t be a big enough demand for an updated One. It seems they keep coming up with bigger wrist watch/tracker/texter/music player/who knows what else. Maybe the next one will come with a keyboard and camera.
If some other company came up with a tracker that worked like the One, I’d quit Fitbit—after 4 years. Product loyalty has its limits.
Actually, the BellaBeat does track active minutes, but not in the same way as the One--it tracks when you are not just sitting around doing nothing--not exercise minutes. It tracks active time, distance and calories, but that works for me. I don't mind manually entering my workouts. I do miss the screen, but I've adjusted.
It's really easy to clip onto your clothes. The metal leaf or urban pattern is what shows You can tell it whether you have it clipped to your shirt or pants, and you don't have to do anything special when sleeping. It seems to learn your sleep patterns. The first week or so it was not very accurate, but now it is spot on. I have the wooden one, and I did get it wet once for a couple of seconds, but it didn't seem to mind... I have both the silver and rose gold leaves. They are pretty easy to switch out, and that way you can match to what you are wearing.
