New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

@h_m_w  Harry - is it the Garmin Vivofit 3 the magnetic clip you've seen? It's really the same as the Fitbit One clip, it's a strong closure that stays clipped. When I place it on a pocket I always put the device to the inside though, just a bit more secure. The Charge2 is a really tight fit into the clip, NO way the device would fall out. I don't have a Charge3, but it looks just a bit bigger (the display takes up more of the screen too) so I'm not positive it would fit in the Vivofit clip ...

I will move on to Fitbit competitor that offers clip-on tracker.  My FitBit will eventually stop working.

Fitbit would advise me to get a Zip. Thanks, but no thanks. It is just an overpriced pedometer. Find a workaround using Alta or Flex with 3rd party clip-on. This is too much hassle. The competitor will with clip-on tracker offer better customer service and experience.

I hope the next product line will be versatile enough that I can wear as a clip-on without hassle.  I understand that there is a market demand for wrist tracker folks.  At least, take a consideration of us who for various reasons can't wear on our wrist.

Please bring back a "Fitbit One'. Perhaps it is redesigned with better hardware under a new name. Since this suggests a feature, and I would encourage Fitbit to find a way to add a Heart Rate Variability sensor to its product line.  I track my heart rate variability uses a chest heart monitor.  The heart rate variability becomes a key tracker I am using my health endeavors.  Otherwise, I will be sad to leave the years of data I have accumulated with my Fitbit One.

In the UK national health service we cannot wear anything below the elbow due to infection control. The Fitbit one is gone and the zip is no longer available here. So nothing for us NHS workers who do lots of walking in their job and want to keep track of their steps. PLEASE think about this as I will not use a normal pedometer

Hi @Minimid! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing.  I've moved it into a similar suggestion. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

I really hope something done and some others agree. Think it’s stupid tbh that there’s nothing for docs, nurses or midwives.

Great point @Minimid.  Many cannot wear a wrist tracker at work.  Fitbit could really capitalize on this.   They need to listen to the need of a clip on tracker (like the One).  Suggest to make it waterproof, track flights of stairs, sleep, active minutes at a minimum.  Fitbit has a user friendly dashboard and active community, it is a shame for them to lose so many users due to a lack of a good non-wrist tracker.

Please bring back tracker that clip on. Some of us cannot wear trackers on our wrists.

We have been asking for a new ONE or something similar for months. My husband has Poilo and cants wear anything on his wrists. I only want something wearable inside of my clothes because I don’t like anything on my arms. I have bought some many ONES as gifts for family and friends. YOJANAFITBIT we are asking to PLEASE bring back the ONE. please share these posts with the powers that be. There are hundreds if not thousands of people who will benefit for the return of the ONE. I promise to buy them as soon as they are on the market. It’s good for us and the FitBit company.

Please bring back the Fitbit One. I love mine. I have worn it for several years, but now it needs to be replaced. I love how accurate and small the One is. I also really like that I can wear the One under my clothes to any event. I would rather not purchase and have to wear the current style of Fitbits on my wrist, as I do not feel it would give an accurate reading of steps. Thanks for considering this in advance.  🙂

If the people who make the decisions about products at Fitbit are reading these posts, I cannot fathom why they don't realize there is a huge market for a clip on tracker that is not the Zip. Had the Zip. I got tired of having to buy new batteries all the time. A rechargeable, clip-on tracker would be very useful to many people who cannot wear a wrist tracker. I can only conclude that they aren't aware of these forums or just do not take the time to read them.

Dear Moderator,

please quit posting that more replies and answers will help. A large group of current and former fitbit users have made their desire known. We want a clip on, rechargeable device that does at least what the One does, or more. Not a cheap substitute like the Zip. We have been very clear. Please take this information to people at Fitbit who can actually act on these requests. This and similar threads have been ongoing since the One was discontinued, well over a year. Quit putting the responsibility for change on the consumer. We have raised our voices loud and clear, it is now time for Fitbit to take action!

I’m glad so many agree. So let’s have a reply from ‘the powers that be’.........

I had previously compiled all of the comments as to why we do not want/cannot wear a wrist based tracker.  And how the wrist ones count steps when you are not moving and times when you are moving and they are not counted.  The entire list is posted somewhere in this thread.  I then emailed it to the CEO. COO and a VP.  I received a somewhat standard response from them that they would advocate for us.  Not that I believe that but my next step is to email them all again to reiterate the list along with how many others miss their One who are not on these boards.  I certainly hope at some point they come out with another One.

Loved my Fitbit 1 it stopped working as I was looking for a new product the majority of products I found were watch type products. They do not fit into my lifestyle. Luckily was able to get a Fitbit Zip. Hoping this product will work as well as my Fitbit 1. That said I hope that Fitbit will not phase out clip on devices for those of us who do not/can not wear watch type of devices.

Sadly I did not find the Zip very useful. It only provides step count and does not have reachable battery.

Good luck and come back with your impressions after using it a while.

many of us are still hopeful Fitbit will release another clip on at least as good as the One

@DaniXYZ   I hope the Zip meets your needs.

That's the model I got that introduced me to the Fitbit brand, and I was sold on its accuracy.

My first battery lasted 6 months - YAY!  But the next one only lasted 2 months.  And then it started eating batteries every 2 weeks.

I needed a Fitbit that would also track sleep, so I switched to the One and gave my husband the Zip.  I think I'd been using it enough that the rubber had stretched and he lost it.  Bought him a new Zip - bright green one.  He experienced the same thing with the battery replacement.  His first battery lasted 2-3 months, and then he was lucky to get 2-3 weeks out of a new battery.

@ScrapjenBApologies . . .  I meant to respond to this back on the 1st when you wrote it, and work was busy.

I actually asked for dimensions in the Charge 3 forum just for the above purpose.  The Charge 3 is actually a little smaller than the Charge 2, but the screen format makes it appear larger.

Adjusting for common denominators so there's an easier comparison:

Charge 2      1 12/16" L x 14/16" W x 7/16" D

Charge 3      1   7/16" L x 13/16" W x 6/16" D

Sorry so late in replying. What I saw was both the Nogis Silicon Strong Magnetic Clasps and the Forfar 1Pc Silicon Belt Clip Magnetic Clasp: both for the Flex 2.

I just looked at the iBREK Replacment Belt Clip Holder for Garmen Vivofit 3 that you mentioned for Charge 2 and maybe Charge 3..

At this point I am really confused. I have an Ultra (Fitbit has now deleted the syncing feature for all Ultra owners, making it useless). I liked the sleep feature, which I used a lot. I also liked the stair/altitude feature, but I guess I could do without that.  I have no interest in Heart beat or the watch, and I want to wear it  on my belt, not on my wrist. Which of the current Fitbit devices meet my criteria? Or, is there another firm which meets that criteria, and has a website which displays and maintains all of that information (which I think Fitbit does fairly well)?

@h_m_w  Harry - I started with the Ultra way back when as well! I upgraded to the One when it first came out though. My Ultra was starting to break along the top. If you don't care about the floors feature, you could just go with the regular Alta (not the HR, a little less expensive). You can get a 3rd party clip made for it (just search Amazon for "Alta clip" and you'll find several options). I did a blog post (http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2017/12/fitbit-one-done-alta-alternative.html) showing some step and photo comparisons. Or, the Charge2 has dropped in price with the new Charge3 coming out. With it, you get the floors feature. You can turn off the heart rate feature (recommended, it would save battery) and then use the Garmin Vivofit Clip.  Nothing I have seen elsewhere comes close in either device, or website/app/interface to what Fitbit offers. Just my opinion though 😉

I bought a charge 2 and a garmin vivofit clip. (FYI the charge 2 is getting hard to find since the charge 3 was introduced). I ended up returning both. I always wore my One on my bra and the charge2 was too big and awkward. I am getting seriously pissed off that companies completely ignore what their consumers want.

I was going to ask where all are  you finding Charge 2s for sale.  I know Fitbit took the 2 off as soon as the 3 went up for sale.

I'd wondered about the size and wearing it clipped to my bra. I'm still chugging along with my One, but I'm sure as old as it is, its day are numbered.

I found mine on Amazon. The local stores were already sold out.
