I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
@h_m_w i found a few options. A couple of them do not have blue tooth, one is iPhone only, and one connects to Android and iPhone. While none of them give everything the One has, companies are making progress. When my One dies, I will definitely be trying them.

I switched to Garmin vivofit 3. It's a wrist tracker but they sell a clip for it. If you buy an aftermarket not Garmin clip it will cost you around 65 dollars all in on Amazon. Quite happy with it.
Apparently fitbit has released a new tracker that can be worn on the wrist OR as a clip on. It is only for their corporate wellness program. A quick look at the specs, it is still missing stairs. Now why can't they make their other wrist trackers usable as clip ons??? and why is this not available to everyone?
@momtallicaInteresting to see the "corporate" specific tracker. Looks like a blend of the Alta and Charge2 (between in size, and the button on the side like the Charge, the Altas don't have that, the Alta's don't have stairs). Just like the Ace for kids ... looks pretty much like an Alta. One step closer that Fitbit is making a clip for it themselves, seeing that need. But the device itself ... doesn't look that different. I wonder if they've done anything different to the device itself to make it clip compatible (like maybe a setting, like the wrist ones do ask if you are wearing it on your dominant or non-dominant hand, perhaps affecting the tracking algorithm somewhat). There are aftermarket clips for the Alta, and the Charge2 can fit in the Zip case (or a more secure/tight fit in the aftermarket ones made for the GarminVivofit3) so if it is just putting a device in a clip, anyone can do it with existing products.
The problem I have, and many others have, after tracking this issue for a year, is that Fitbit continues to ignore the request to bring. The One back or come up with a similar, better clip on tracker I bought a charge2 and returned it, as it was to bulky to wear on my bra, which is where I wore my One. We shouldn’t have to cobble together different products to make it work. Fitbit obviously doesn’t care about its customers. And why have a device not available to everyone? Let’s make the majority of our customers feel like second class customers. What a great way increase our customer base! Not!
I'm re-entering this thread because right now I'm unable to vote for posts, quote pays, etc.. My One finally seems to have died this week so I'm very interested in options. That corporate-only device seems great, if only it counted stairs. And, of course, if it were available.
I've just had a quick look at the corporate specific tracker and a chatbox came up. When I have more time, I might talk to them on the chatbox, perhaps its one way of letting them know to even notice our comments on this thread that everyone except us and the moderator, who keep moving everything One related to this thread, seemingly so that we can't add our votes to multiple threads and be heard, just a thought.
I tried as someone suggested and commented on social media. The Fitbit NZ (New Zealand) Facebook site is very quiet, so I thought a comment would be noticeable, at least - hardly anyone comments there. And sure enough, I got a quick response inviting me to PM them. I did and I got a few weird responses in return, which looked like they were just responding to specific words (product names) rather than reading my messages. EVENTUALLY, after several PM's, this is the final response I got:

I really don't hold out much hope for the reintroduction of the One now as they seem to just be using the same platitudes. I'm not sure what I'll do yet, when my One eventually dies. Has anyone tried the Versa as a clip on? If it was accurate I could make a little pouch for it, I'm thinking. I have almost even considered going to the dark side and wearing a wrist device , but comments here on some of them tracking wrist action rather than steps has put me off. It is a shame we can't have some sort of 'Guide To What Can be Hacked", as it's getting quite hard to follow all the suggestions and what works/what doesn't, with the length of this topic now
Like many, have been following this this thread for a long time.
I agree Fitbit doesn't really seem to hear us or seem interested - but I'm not at all surprised.
We all love our One's and dislike wrist-based trackers for some reason (rather wear a traditional watch, fit issues, not as accurate, etc). . .
But at the end of the day, I think we are what we are - a small (maybe a couple hundred users) group of Fitbit One aficionados.
And even if every single one of us promised to buy the new-improved One (the Two?) for $150, what's that? 300 people * 150 = <$50K. That wouldn't pay a single design/marketing/support person. I'd personally buy the One without a single feature enhancement (I'd pay double if it was washing machine safe - or had an easily replaceable battery or . . .) - But even if we all promised to buy 2 or 3, I'm guessing their math says the market is just not here. There is really no other explanation - we're being politely ignored because we simply do not represent a viable market. No one leaves money on the table on purpose.
And while I LOVE the One, I can remember reading reviews where plenty of people had issues (dead units, no bluetooth/connectivity, bad calibration, charging problems, etc). Likely highly slanted towards user errors/issues, but as a company they still have to own it all.
Love the website and infrastructure, but I think it's time all of us non-wrist trackers give up on the One and work together to find the next best alternative.

I think there are probably a lot more people like that like the one that are not posting here. You’ve got a pretty limited group of people that used to go online and post on a message board. I’m not saying that the one is the most profitable thing they could ever come out with, but I think judging how many people like it on how many people have common posted here is pretty simplistic.
As for an alternative, I recently bought a bella beat when it was on sale after the holidays. I haven’t switched over to it yet, but I have it ready for when my one kicks the bucket. From what I can see it does meet all the requirements, my only concern is that it’s a bit bigger and I don’t think it will fit comfortably on my bra (My one fits in the middle, so it doesn’t show through clothing), but that’s OK I wear on my waist band as well.
Sorry Slowcredit but I have to disagree with some of your reasoning . . .
It’s been many, many years since I took marketing and I don’t remember the pretty incredible ratio of customers most companies consider 1 single person to represent when they go to the trouble of formally complaining about something. Most consumers just get mad and get over it. (We’re special 🙂 I’ve seen posts like this for at least two years now and I have to think the hundreds of people asking FitBit to bring back the One represent many more thousands. And in all this time, I’ve never heard good comments about the Zip or that it compares in anyway favorably to the One. ALL the Fitbit products occasionally have technical issues. I still firmly believe the primary reason that FitBit discontinued the One is to try and push the wrist trackers as free advertising of their product – trying to up the buzz. It has definitely backfired on my end – I no longer recommend Fitbit to friends. 😞
I DO like your positivity though! And I appreciate the suggestion of another disgruntled former One user: I would like to hear the company’s rationale for discontinuing the One and not responding to its customers’ requests for a decent replacement.
Fitbit will be offering a new Inspire device through some participating health plans and corporations. I was excited to see that the device has a clip attachment. Finally hope to replace my aging Fitbit One! I don’t wear a watch. When this One wears out there’s nothing for me to use. The Zip doesn’t offer all the kinds of tracking that the One does, so that’s not a good option.
Fitbit please start offering the Inspire for public sale. It makes little sense to limit it. Why not offer it to everyone, at worse you’d sell a few devices and retain customers that don’t wear a watch

I recently lost my Fitbit One that I have been using for years, and was very sad to see when I started to look for a replacement that all Fitbit models now must be worn on the wrist. The One is no longer available, and it looks like Zip was after that, but nothing available now. For someone like me that wants it to be 'discreet' and not take up a wrist for bracelets/watch this is a great loss! I heard a rumour that they may bring back a 'clip model' but I wish it was here now.....thanks!
Fitbit absolutely need to release a fob style watch/fitness monitor that clips to your clothing or pocket but still tracks your steps and gives you access to the time/stop watch/timer etc. Ideally for health care professionals it would be beneficial if the backlight stayed illuminated for 1 minute, enough to count a heart rate or respiratory rate. This would seriously benefit nurses, doctors, health care workers, construction workers, hospitality workers plus many many more alike that have to adhere to a bare below the elbow policy or that have to wear PPE. I will be jumping on the bandwagon of whoever does this first, but surely someone will be onto it soon!
Well, after all this time, with the brass at Fitbit NOT listening and NOT responding, I said to heck with it and went with an Apple Watch! No more Fitbit for me! They gave up on me and I've given up on them. Goodbye! (Drops the mic AND the Fitbit One.)
