I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
Hi all. Originally started this post as a grievance about losing the Fitbit One, but we all know Fitbit doesn't care. I tried getting more info about the Inspire, but Fitbit is not cooperating and it's only for businesses and companies reportedly for a "Wellness Program." Be it known, however, Fitbit has publicly stated that their devices are purely for entertainment and not wellness. With that said, I'll continue to use my One until it dies, and will not obtain any replacements. I use my One as a benefit to my poor health, and even my Doctors agree it's worth using...it shows them I'm getting at least some exercise. As for this post, I'll probably remain silent from here on out. Inspire sounded like it may have been practical for our use, but it's off limits ; as I see it, Fitbit is trying to change its image from entertainment to wellness, but using the same arm swing devices isn't going to get them there. Their image is tarnished and people will simply look elsewhere. As for us, guess we are just out there. Good luck, good health, and good life!
What makes me mad is I work for the Ohio State University, they bought thousands of the Fitbit Ones a few years back and gave them to employees as part of our wellness program. I lost my One and now I can't participate in many of the competitions they offer at work because I can't wear wrist band. The competitions were fun too, and a great motivator
Glendamay, have you asked if they have any left?? Maybe OSU would replace it for you. Also, you could post to local sale sites or OSU sites, see if anybody still has one but never uses it. They might be willing to part with theirs. Good luck!!
I received an email last month from my health insurance / wellness plan about buying an Inspire, and the wording in the email was this:
Fitbit Inspire and Fitbit Inspire HR are fitness trackers designed to make developing healthy habits easier for everyone. These special release devices are not yet available to the general public, but are now made available for --- members.
So have some HOPE! The Fitbit Inspire (which is published as having a clip-on accessory sold separately) is under $100 and "not YET available to the general public."
My One is still doing ok, but if it dies, I would be willing to give the Inspire with clip-on accessory a trial run. Maybe there is light at the end of the Fitbit One tunnel, and our 2+ years of feedback has had an impact after all.
I’m not sure I have much hope when Fitbit’s announcement did not include anything about it for the public. They specifically said that it’s only available through certain health plans and corporations. Also the FitBit customer service reps say that it’s not available to the public. If they had plans I’d think they’d say that.
This suggestion in now 5 years old. The lack of progress speaks volumes for importance to FitBit of their customers views. I want a clip on tracker that does what at least what the ( now unobtainable in the UK) FitBit Zip did. I like my Fitbit Zip but it’s not going to last for ever. It’s small, discreet, tells me how many steps I have done and how many minutes brisk exercise. I cannot use a wristband device as when I walk with a stick for support, it only counts every 4th step. I wear my Zip on my briefs. It sychs wirelessly to the app on my iPad/iPhone. I replaced the rubber holder/clip with one from eBay which is as good as the originals. Why not just please your loyal customers and bring back the FitBit Zip and the Fitbit One. Please don’t make us wait another 5 years. When my Fitbit Zip dies, I will be looking at competitors products if FitBit can’t (or won’t) offer what I want.

@dianedeacon4, yes, it has a wrist tracker option. However, if you read the article, and have been keeping up with the discussions here about the inspire, it also comes with a clip on, and supposedly does not lose functionality with the clip.

It has an accelerometer, so I think it might count floors. I didn’t buy one, so I don’t know for sure, but here’s a screen shot of the specs from the portal... this is the version that does not have the HR.
