It would be nice if you had the option that when your tracker recognizes you are asleep, that notifications are disabled. That way you are not awaken in the middle of the night by a text message that could have waited until morning.
This device needs the feature to automatically disable either all notifications or certain notifications during certain activities. Primarily this needs to happen during exercising, and sleep. Also, if you give the user a double button press option to manually silence the device would be good too. The device is great, but with the new notification features I find it to be too chatty during the wrong times.
Please add a setting in the Fit it app that simply disables notifications to the Charge 2 between certain hours. I have tried settings on my iPhone, but I simply want my Charge 2 not to disturb my with notifications while sleeping. Alarms are fine, obviously, but notifications are not.
THIS!! My wife and I just got the Charge 2 for Christmas and we constantly trigger the quick view when settling down to sleep. It would be awesome to set a time schedule for that because we prefer it during the day. I'm constantly enabling and disabling quick view now.
Once you've updated, you can put your Charge 2 into Do Not Disturb Mode by holding the Charge 2's button when your Charge 2 is displaying its clock face and then repeat to turn notifications back on.
Thanks for posting on the Feature Suggestion Board!

I'll leave this suggestion open since it is a slight variation, but I thought I'd let you know!
I just got the Charge 2 and love it. Like most, I adore the Quick View feature, but during my first night with it, it woke me and my spouse up several times. It’s a bit of a pain to try and remember to turn it off manually every night, so if it could somehow do so itself (either with an internal feature, or by using the phones do not disturb setting, which the notifications already seem to do), that would make this watch near perfect (for perfect, I think updates to the sleeping tracker would need to be made!). Please make a setting so the quick view feature will automatically turn on and off during certain times, for example, turns off between xxx to xxx (from example 11pm to 8am). Thanks!
I have some good news. With the release of Charge 2 firmware 22.48.14, Charge 2 now has an on-device Do Not Disturb mode that can be activated directly from your Charge 2.
To turn Charge 2's Do Not Disturb mode on, simply hold Charge 2's button for around three seconds when your Charge 2 is displaying its clock face, and then repeat to turn it off.
Do Not Disturb does not influence Charge 2's quick view at all, but it will disable notifications and reminders to move when it is on.
Hi Derrick, This is fine but it does not address the issue since it won't prevent the device from shining a bright light in my eyes when I move my arm in a particular when when sleeping or trying to fall asleep.
Great suggestion. The fitbit should already know your ideal bed time so why doesn't it prevent the vibration after this time? This gets me every night!
Because tracker settings can only be changed through the app and with an internet connection, it takes a while to turn off quick view. In most theaters I go to there is not a strong cell signal, so I'm often unable to turn off quick view while sitting in the theater. This isn't a problem if I never move my arms, but it would be preferable to have a way to turn off quick view from the tracker, much like how to newest update allowed us to turn off notifications from the Charge 2.
I love the vibrate alarm but yes if that means my FitBit charge 2 can vibrate whenever it likes and wake me up - that is just intrusive - does anyone have a solution to this?
This is my number one request - the ability to schedule Quick View to be off during certain hours without having to manually turn it on and off every morning and night. My second choice (almost as good) would be a way to turn it on and off manually on the device itself.
I agree with the need to turn off the QuickView from the Charge2, not just the app. I was in a movie yesterday, forgot to turn off QuickView until after the movie started, and had to carefully hide my wrist during the movie so as not to flash the bright display.
Something I miss a lot since my beloved Charge is gone: the mode, when tap doesn't work, and bracelet display is only activated with button. This mode should be synced with device DND mode and also could be switched on and off manually. It should show the clock on button press and notifications chosen by user (i.e. messages in my case can definitely wait until morning, but calls are important enough to be shown), keep tracking everything trackable, but do not switch diplay on by tap or arm move.
Here comes the user story. My first Fitbit device was Flex, and basically I was unable to use silent alarms (which I'd love to use) and sleep tracking because 2-5 times per night it occasionally turned the display on, and this awaked everyone in the room pretty effectively. Then I bought the Charge. And first thing I did to it was switching the tap off. And we lived happily ever after until the bracelet was broken. Then Alta came, same story as the Flex one. And now I've bought Charge 2 believing there's still an option to switch off the tap, and suddenly there isn't. Ouch. No silent alarms again. And I had to put it to the bag during the concerts, cause every time I applause it turns on again and shines. And on my lessons, cause it distracts everyone and shows them my step count for today, which I would prefer to keep private.
I'd like to be able to set my sleep time so that notifications (texts) don't buzz my watch while I'm sleeping rather than have to turn on and off each day.
Yes, I also agree. A setting for Quick Veiw on the Fitbit itself, a schedule in the app settings, and auto sleep detection switching would be perfect. But any one of those would do for me
I would like a feature on the Charge 2 device where I can hold down the side button to Enable or Diable Quick View. There is a feature currently available which allows you to enable and disable notifications by holding the side button. Perhaps in the App you can give us the option to have the button hold enable or disable either Quick View or Notifictions. I personally just leave Notifcations on since I want to know when I get texts or calls, even when sleeping. However, I always use the App to deactivate Quick View before sleeping and have to wait for it to sync each time. And then I repeat the process in the morning to enable Quick View.
Set time zones where the light and notifications do not come on. That way I can go to bed knowing the light won't come on when I move. Could also stop text and call notifications between set hours.
