Notifications on Sense 2/Versa 4 should wake screen

As of the latest firmware available (as of 14 October 2022) when notifications are received on the Versa 4 they do not wake the screen, which is contrary to how the Versa 2 works. Having an option for the user to decide how you want to see notifications, either by a wrist movement or automatically, would be user friendly.

At this point they are pretty dead set on not adding this feature that was
removed from every device. So its time to just switch. I got myself an
apple watch ultra 2 and couldnt be happier.

I just updated to versa 4 from versa 3 but I really want to go back now because notifications do not automatically wake the screen.

This feature is important.

I just got my Versa 4 and this feature is missing!

They still haven't figured this out?! My old Versa from 2017 ish can wake screen for every notification. Why would Fitbit/Google take a useful feature AWAY?!

Massive fail and I'll be looking into returning my device for one and only one reason- this.

My Sense just died, so picked up a Versa 4. I am SO upset that my screen doesn't wake for notifications. I'm now contemplating if it's worth returning and looking at other fitness trackers/smartwatches.

It is May of 2024. It has officially been over 18 months since this was requested. I had a Versa 2 that the screen literally fell out of. Insurance replaced it with a Versa 3 that I hated. I read about the Versa 4 and it had the features I wanted. No warning about the screen not waking with notifs. I wanted to upgrade before my premium renewed and now I'm debating returning it and getting a Samsung watch. A smartwatch/activity tracker is supposed to notify you of things not make it more difficult. I can make a call with my watch and turn on things through Alexa however I can't know that my husband sent me a text message.

I will add my voice for this not even questionably fundamental feature! I like my Versa 4, I have it for a week now, but I already want to return it and buy anything else JUST because it does not wake screen on notifications... It is baffling that this is not considered standard functionality at this point... Please add it!!!

I was given a versa 4 for free and even at that cost it isn't worth the price without this feature. I've been wearing smart watches since the original Pebble. To not display notifications when you receive them makes this device next to useless.  I honestly can't believe this thread has been around for so long without them addressing such a critical and basic feature.

Since upgrading to the Versa 4, notifications have become frustrating. The watch vibrates, but the screen stays off, requiring either a wrist shake or a button press to view an app icon first, and only after we see the content of the message. This adds unnecessary steps and delays. Please address this inefficient system in future updates.

It would, but wouldn't display the message. It would only display who it
was from. I had to touch my screen to see the message which doesn't work
when you work with your hands and can't let go of what is in your hand to
touch your watch. For me it is a huge safety and contamination issue.

Luckily, somewhere an update or something happened and blniw it works fine.

I recently bought a Versa 4 to replace my tired Sense 1, as soon as I realised that automatic wake feature was missing I returned it.

It's a ridiculous omission that they would no doubt justify by claiming it's to preserve battery life. But when Fitbits have 6 x the battery potential than their flagship Pixel watches it just doesn't make any sense.

I'm now back on my Sense 1 until it dies and then I'll be going elsewhere. Nice work Google.
