Shorter First Flight of Stairs

Most residential staircases are shorter than 10' tall, so the tracker doesn't usually count them.  It would be nice to adjust the stairs counter so that the first flight registers after 7' or 8'.  Subsequent flights (within a few seconds) should still register at 10' intervals, so that traversing multiple flights would still work about the same as it does today.

I'd like to be able to manually enter the number of flights; I often use the stair tread climber at the gym but my fitbit doesn't register it because I am staying at the same elevation.

I just got crutches and live in a 3rd floor apartment.  Now I can NOT climb the stairs fast enough for them to count but it is much more work. I wish we could log them manually too.

Also when holding on to a railing/support while climbing it doesn't register as a flight climbed 😞

I would love to see the option to manually add stairs, especially when i have left my fitbit at home for the day and need to recOrd my activity

Whether I'm carrying a baby up & down or care taking a lady in the neighborhood.... Every staircase is residential & therefore lost in terms of tracking. I wondered why it registered 0, yet gave me 2 for the hockey arena. How does this effect the "calories burned" stat? Is it still registered as a step? Or not at all if carrying that baby....

Pleae make the default stairs 8 ft as most homes have 8ft cielings making the stairs only 8 ft. high or at lease let us choose between a 10 ft and 8 ft defalt.  AND let us edit the number of stairs climbed.  The main reson I wanted a fit bit is to see how many times a day I use the stairway between the floors in our house. A big dissappointment in that way but very impressed in all the other features.

My daughters were sick a few days back, and I was upstairs 7 different times over the course of that night.  It was very frustrating to wake up in the morning to find that my Fitbit had only registered 1 of those trips.  The Fitbit is supposed to be a motivational tool, but the stairs feature is incredibly demotivating.

Adjustable flight height would be great!

Homes, apartment buildings and office buildings can be all over the place in height, so adjustable would be really helpful if the technology can handle it.

In North America, a ten foot rise in a house would be odd. Eight feet 9-1/4" is avarage for a modern stick-built home. Some are higher, some are lower depending on floor finishes, joist type & depth, etc.

Lots of homes, especially older ones, have even shorter heights. Mine does. I'd imagine many, many vintage homes in Europe and Asia also have shorter flights, too.

If ten feet is a Magic Health Number, then let the tracker average the shorter flights over a ten foot standard. (Ten flights of 7 feet could give you credit for 7 flights.)

I couldn't figure out why it was counting the stairs some days, and would skip them other days. As it turns out, my stairs are 10'3" which is (obviously) too close to the magic 10' mark. It seems that perhaps 9' would be a better number for most people commenting here. (or the averaging of shorter flights mentioned above.)

I absolutely agree with the above comments!  It's so frustrating to know that you've done lots of flights of stairs, only to check your fitbit charge hr and find that it credited you for none of them.  😞  Not at all motivating!  For those of us who are doing residential stairs, which I would have to think would be a large percentage, our stairs don't count and that's really frustrating!  Please, please consider changing the elevation change to eight feet, or make it a setting that can be changed!  Thank you!

I'd also love some kind fix to this. I live in a third-floor walk up. There are landings every ten-fifteen steps. I'm thinking this new Charge 2 isn't tracking any stairs because I have to turn the corner several times? I tried doing it very quickly so there was no pause at all, still registers either one or zero flights. Pretty frustrating.
