It would be great to add a second reminder to move on the hour. Sometimes I'm busy when the first one goes off at 10 mins til the hour and I forget so it would be very helpful to add the second on at 5 mins til. Less missed hours of moving
I think it would be great to add a second reminder to move at 5 til. Sometimes I'm busy when it goes off the first time and I forget. If the second went off it would remind to move and then there would be less hours missed.
Sometimes I'll be talking to my boss or on the phone when my warning goes off to get my 250 steps at 10 'til the hour. It would be nice to be able to turn on a feature to remind you again at 5 'til the hour if you haven't gotten the steps. Usually just as the hour is over, I'll realize that I haven't gotten them. Also, this reminder could always show how many steps remain instead of the stock "time for a stroll" kind of message. Thank you for your consideration to this request.
I want to reach my hourly step goals - and - have the reminder set up. Although, I've found myself focused on whatever task I'm working on and miss the reminder. My suggestion:
Under the "Reminders to Move" have a setting for 'must acknowledge' (similarly to alarm clock). That way, the reminder continues to go off until the user acknowledges the alert.
Sometimes I just don't feel the double vibe reminder - and miss my hourly steps.
I'd like more options for the 'reminders to move' feature. Possibly the addition of a 5 or 2 minute warning, in addition to the current 10 minute one. Or a more "aggressive" notice--more like the silent alarms, because I often don't notice the buzz for the reminder to move. Also, it would be nice if it could be set to go off after a certain period of inactivity. For example, if you take 250 steps right at the top of the hour (say noon), then your next reminder to move wouldn't come until 1:50.
I second all of thouse requests. Plus...It would also be nice if the counter showed you the current number of hours rather than total. For example if I have it set to monitor from 9 am to 5 pm. (8hours). If I haven't moved by 11:10am it says I've moved 0/8 hours. It should actually say 0/2 hours. "You
havent moved for the two hours we've been counting today. " the future hours cout isn't as helpful.
To add to emilymm02's suggestion, I would also like to change the number of steps. I think dopealope is onto something but it would be nice to change the step amount. If I have my reminders to move set for 12 hours, 8 am to 8 pm at 250 steps per hour, that only equals 3000 steps. If my goal is 10000, for example, I'd like to be able to set my reminders to move to something else, like 850 or whatever. I know it's not always realistic to get 850 steps per hour; however, I'd have a better idea of what I need to make up due to being stuck in my chair. The steps in some cases could can be accomplished pretty quickly - like in the 10 minute time frame and it would be purposeful walking as opposed to whatever I would be doing as "normal" which isn't always going to yield results from a weight loss perspective.
I want to start off by saying that I love my Fitbit and the reminders to move feature. It really does help with my health and physical well-being since I work a mostly sedentary office job in front of a computer at a desk. Having said this, it can be *very frustrating* when I absolutely can't move, like during a meeting that takes up the entire hour where I need to arrive several minutes before and can't leave until several minutes after. There really needs to be some sort of grace period for these cases so I could have 10-15 minutes to make up for the lack of activity in the hour. When I miss an hour with half the day down on account of a compulsory meeting it feels like I'm being *punished* by Fitbit and it really sours my user experience and I question the point of pursuing the remaining hours to the App's criteria. I've actually considered disabling this feature and only using the steps and HR tracker, which takes away from the device's value. This shouldn't be too hard to fix since it's software related. This experience has led me to consider other fitness trackers with more customizable experiences and I am open to others if the right amount of features are present. I really hope that this issue can be addressed soon!
Excellent suggestion! Modern life is a matter of becoming multitasking, having this options can help a lot of users to remain active even a very busy day. Thanks a lot for taking the time and for adding this great idea. Keep adding your comments!
I second the snoozing idea. If I get the reminder at 10 to the hour, but still haven't moved in 5 minutes. It should remind me again. However, I would also like the ability to change when the reminder takes place. At 10 minutes to the hour, my steps often bleed into the next hour. I would like the ability to make a reminder happen at 30 minutes past the hour with accompanying snoozes.
Alternatively, though this would be harder to program, I would like to have the reminder come when the Fitbit detects one hour of inactivity. I understand that part might be tough though.
I also would like the option for multiple reminders to move each hour (or some sort of snooze option). I often need to complete something before I get up to get in the required number of steps for the hour. By the time I completed what I'm working on I've usually forgotten I need to get up and move. A 5-minute 2nd reminder (or some sort of snooze capability) would be a great help! I also agree that it would be nice to have the number of steps you need to reach 250 stated each time. Sometimes it tells you and sometimes you just get a generic let's stroll, etc. How about saving those messages for when you need the entire 250 steps and if we have any steps in that hour, tell us how many remaining steps we need each time at the 10 minute reminder?

Regarding the hourly reminder to move, I would like to suggest in addition to the 10 minute vibration, a 5-minute jolt...or maybe just a reminder to the reminder. After all these years of using the Fitbit, sometimes I just inadvertently ignore the vibration, and at other times if I don't get up and move right at the time of the vibration, I just forget, and then I get mad that I forgot, lol! Seriously, there's no excuse to not move 250 steps/hour, but perhaps a 5-minute "here's your last chance" reminder would be very helpful for people like me. Thanks for your consideration!

After I receive my 10 minute reminder to move: If I have not completed my steps goal for that hour by 5 minutes until the end of the hour - remind me again.
