Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

Hi,

My wife and myself have been using our respective Charge 2 for a while now.

It seems indeed that the quality of our sleep is worse than what it used to be before we had them.

Disabling the quickview feature seems drastic to solve the unwanted lights-on at night because the feature is clearly a plus during the day. So indeed an additional setting to remove the quickview and tapview based on fixed hours and/or the device detecting we are sleeping would be a great improvement.

For us the display going on and off while trying to fall asleep is the major nuisance; when asleep it must have an impact even if it is more difficult to assess it.

The green strobe is interfering as well but I don't see how to solve that problem seeing the idea is to track the sleep quality anyway.

Not wearing the device at night would be a nonsense and a waste of money... please, Fitbit Support, consider this new feature.

Great idea, I think a lot of users will benefit from this feature as they will for sure sleep without inconveniences if they are sensitive to the Fitbit heart rate based tracker's lights. Thanks for your suggestion!

We definitely need to have a sleep mode as we are both being bothered by the screen brightness in our house. Turning quick view and the heart rate monitor to the off position in settings helps but is not fool proof.

This is indeed a problem and a solution is needed sooner than later.

The way i see it, the new feature could be an option just like the hourly tracker which you can set to only work from x to y hours. You can just set so quickview gets disabled for a specific hour interval.

Ideally an algorithm to disable the feature when you are sleeping would work the best, but there are too many variables and i would be more than happy with the above sugestion.

The problem is the same on our charge2.
And since we have them, the quality of sleep of my wife and myself has worsened quite a bit.

It's a shame that a sleep tracking device can randomly wake you up. We should be able to stop the quick view and tap view in sleep/night mode somewhere in the settings or even on the device itself in the same way to start and end an exercise session: by long push on a dedicated screen.

No matter how it is implemented, a sleep/night mode is really a must.

Please Fitbit developers, help us on this.

I want a night time dimmer option please!

How about an option for auto dimmer during usual sleep times based on the data from the tracker?

Quick View really needs to work only during the day. It would be great to have a configurable timed setting that means it does not operate during the night and so will not light up when you move in bed. Something similar to Do Not Disturb on iPhone.

Please add this feature to Fitbit Charge 2 model

I quit wearing my fitbit altogether because of this.  Such blatant oversight on their part.

I like this idea, but I'd rather have more control over it instead of it just automatically disabling while I'm sleeping. I'd actually prefer that you can set the time span that it will disable quick view itself. For instance if you typically sleep from 10pm to 7am, you would set that time span within the quick view settings, and it will automatically toggle off at 10pm, and turn back in at 7am. That way it won't bother you if you're laying down but not yet able to fall asleep.

@kornmeyer after you change quick view settings, a sync needs to happen to send the new settings to the tracker.

@ThePreacher the biggest problem I see is that the tracker doesn't know when your sleeping, the fitbit server, after syncing in the morning, has to figure it out.. I find occaisionly this might take up to 6 hours.

Is there a way to have the Charge 2, and likely any device that lights up when you raise your arm, to go into a 'Do Not Disturb' mode when sleep is detected? My Mi Band 2 does this now and it's great at not waking me up when I move in my sleep. The Charge 2 is SO bright in a dark room. This would be a very welcome change.

I agree with you, it would be a fab idea

This is exactly what I need for my Fitbit Blaze. It's extremely irritating when it comes on when I wake up in the middle of the night. Also maybe there should be a setting(as well as just when sleep is detected) for do not disturb. if possible, it'd would be good aswell if the blaze (or any other similar products) doesn't turn on even if you press any of the buttons (when on do not disturb) - but when it realises you're finished sleeping, then the buttons should be working.

Agree. It's annoyingly bright in a dark room.

Hello Fitbit Community. Yes I too think if the Fitbit knows when you're sleeping, then it should turn off quick view. It doesn't bother me so much, but my wife was very annoyed! So let just say I had to turn it off completely!!! Help us out FitBit!!! It's an Easy fix!!!

Well Rich Laue: atleast an option to manually turn it off during certain times at night. And if you just happen to be awake then, you have to turn it on manually during that time. Not a big deal I think.

I wish they would develop a setting in the app that would disable the quick view during sleep times, or make it so that the times at which that feature is active can be set by the user. I get less sleep at night when I go to move my arm and my Fitbit Charge HR lights up right in my face, or when I go to soothe my infant and my Fitbit lights up in her face. It's a pain to have remember to disable that feature every night before bed and then re-enable it in the morning. I use the feature often during the day when I am exercising and when I'm working outside, but at night it has become a nuisance.

This is an absolute no brainer and an easy app update. I am a brand new user, and while I really like this device, first time I wore it last night it woke me up n=numerous times when I was just rolling over. This is a big design gap... I hope it is addressed soon!

It gets annoying when I have to manually disable quick view everytime I have to sleep because it always gets activated when I toss and turn around

It'd be great if you could specify hours for the quick view function to turn off automatically. I like monitoring my sleep but it's annoying to have to switch off quick view every night

I just deactivated the quick view feature and wont use it until this update happens
