Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

Definitely needs dimming at night. Completely lights up the room. I use it instead of my phone to navigate in the dark.

During the night, when I check the time, the light is very bright. It would be nice to have. A lower light intensity at night houraag. It knows when I sleep so it can turn down the light a bit. Also it should not light up when I turn my wrist when sleeping.

I wish there were a way to set a window of time where quick view would automatically be turned off my charge 2. I get up a couple times each night with my baby, and if I forget to turn quick view off manually on the app, I basically blind myself (and my baby!) when the display automatically turns on.

It would be nice to have a timer or a "do not disturb" feature for Charge 2 that one can program (like for iPhones). That way one can avoid getting awaken by the light of the screen while sleeping.

I've come to Fitbit from Garmin because I like the hardware of the Fitbit Charge 2 more than my Vivosmart HR+. One feature on Garmin is to set an automatic do not disturb schedule and when it's activated, the watch doesn't turn on unless you use a button and the notifications are muted.

This is more elegant than having to turn off a display toggle at night and also turn off notifications.

Please consider allowing us to set times for quick view to be on and off (eg, off at night, on during the day )

I'd love to be able to automatically turn off/on quickview during certain hours so that my watch doesn't light up the room ever time I move at night.

My Charge 2 is really bright at night and lights up room and can wake you up if your arm moves in the right position. Please put in a night time mode option, dimmer, or require manual button press to show screen after a certain time. Thanks!!

@Peter1990z24:

I completely turned off the "Auto-On-Function" as I noticed that the display comes up more often as I want it. I rather like to press the button or tap the device instead. And doing so, it seems to preserve a lot of battery power. I charged it 6 days ago and still have 40% left (if the new battery meter is not kidding me)

Please add an option to "nightmode" or "dim screen". There are a few nights, when rolling over, the screen on my charge 2 has come on & awoken me. It is very bright in a dark room!

Another request for the Charge 2 to turn off Quick View when it senses sleep mode, or for a scheduled turn off.  I can look at the bedroom clock or my phone.

It's annoying to have the light in the face at night while I'm asleep

We should have a feature to disable it automatically or according to the phone's night mode

Thank you

If the Charge 2 recognises when a person is sleeping, can it recognise that the display doesn't need to be so bright that it wakes me up when I happen to move my arm when I turn over in my sleep. If anybody needs to see the time that badly they should have to press the side button twice to relight the screen.

Please add ability to turn off quick view at certain times so that I can disable it at night while sleeping and then have it automatically resume function during the day.   The bright display wakes me up at night and I don't want to have to turn it on/off manually.  This should be an easy add to future firmware updates and seems to be a common feature request. Thx Thx!

Couldn't agree more with this. Biggest problem for me is being awoken by the bright light from the watch when I move whilst asleep. This is disrupting my sleep which the tracker tracks!

The brightness also wakes my partner too.

When the FitBit recognises me sleeping, the quick view function should be disabled or, alternatively, I should be able to set specific hours for it to work. During the day, the feature is very useful.

The only problem I see with the statement above, is that the tracker does not know when your sleeping.

Sleep is calculated after the first sync after a person wakes up. I've also noticed if I sync to soon after waking up, it might be a couple hours before sleep shows.

I agree, putting duct tape over the Blaze face takes away from the "high tech" nature of the device, but is yet another use for duct tape!

It was either that, or not wearing the Blaze, which makes the sleep tracking impossible.

Would it be possible during a future update to have the option to have the quick view on the Alta disabled during night hours?

it drives myself and my husband nuts when it illuminates the room in the middle of the night and disturbs both of our sleep patterns.

I understand this feature can be manually disabled but it would be great if you could set the time so that this automatically happens each night say between the hours of 10pm until 6am or something.

Wishing the team team a very merry Christmas 🙂

Waiting for this feature, I've decided not to wear my Charge 2 at night anymore. My sleep has improved since. Sad, isn't it, for a sleep tracking device?

A manual or automatic sleep mode is really needed.

I support the idea of also turning off Bluetooth in this mode... who needs the extra emissions from a device with  which you are supposed to sleep at night?

Didier

Hi @Didou. The Charge 2 already has the automatic sleep mode. And you can turn the Quick View function on and off manually. It would be better if Quick View allowed us to set times for the feature, but you don't have to take it off at night. For now, I've gotten in the habit of turning the feature on at night and back on in the am.

Second that. Sleep tracker doesn't work well when you're waking yourself up with the light of the tracker!

Has any thought been given to letting users select a time when Quick View is disabled? For example, letting users set it so between 11pm and 7am Quick View is disabled and their Fitbit won't turn on in the middle of the night unexpectedly.

I agree; there should be a "do not disturb" option similar iPhone and iPad.

I agree with this too.

I think I found a way to disable it on a Blaze anyway.

Scroll through to the setting screen, and there is a "Quick View" option that you can turn on and off.

I think turning it off will work.

Hope this helps others as well!
