I would love a UK food database with more home made, healthy food. I don't eat fast food and don't understand the US database. The French one is better, but in French. We clearly need a UK database that includes UK ingredients, meals, portion sizes and eating venues. But most importantly, covers home made, healthy meals (eg like the 2 day diet menus, used in 5+2 diets, that mant dieters follow in the UK and elsewhere). Thanks, Nick
Hi there.
I'm from the UK and got my Fitbit flex yesterday ! I'm a bit disappointed as the food database isn't for the UK, and also exercises I do in the gym isn't on the database, ie Grit ( or insanity), and also that the calories burnt isn't on the exercise, ie spinning....? Am I just not doing it correctly ?? Thanks all
This is a much sought after request by UK users of the Flex, but given since its been over a year since the request was made...will we see it actually make it into the product?
I like the step counting but think it is very poor not to have a UK food database the US one is useless for us and it means the fitbit is not really fit for use on all the advertised features
When will we finally get a update to the food database to include the UK? I think it's well overdue and ruins the fitbit experience. Especially considering how much fitbit is getting pushed on UK commercials.
Agreed! I bought my wife the flex for Xmas and now I'm not sure she's going to use it as she records everything she eats on another 3rd party app and then records her running on the Nike app. I thought using Fitbit was going to bring everything together, but sadly this isn't the case yet. It's well out of order to be pushing a product that isn't finished properly for te uk market. Poor show. Does anyone know if there is an eta for the release date for the uk database?
Please, please, please can we have a UK food database? I, along with lots of others by the look of it, live in the UK and this issue has been raised numerous times over the past 2 years yet has still not been resolved! Very bad customer service Fitbit
With the number of posts on this subject, surely someone from Fitbit can post an update on the progress you've made so far? The last comment I can find is July, saying an update would be made soon on the ETA for UK food database! Does anyone really note these comments or are we whistling in the wind?
New charge owner, surprised to discover no uk food database.... As a regular user of my fitness pal for food tracking this would be extremely helpful as a future dev. Not looking forward to custom creating all my own food- so prob not functionality I will use. Shame.
Come on fitbit, uk food database long overdue. One more vote from me! Not sure I would have bought one if I'd known I couldn't do everything advertised as being possible.
It would be great to have a UK food database as it's difficult to log foods from a different countries database as there are no general food items, only ones specific to certain shops.
Cheers
Just getting started with fitbit. Mystified as to why there is no UK food database. Also my fitbit synced the data from Saturday but Sundays distance etc have not logged on fitbit app.
Im a new user to fitbit - Im using it to try and get fit, this is all new to me and not having a UK food database is such a downfall - I really want to use the full functionality of fitbit, but already I can see that trying to find US equivalents to my foods will put me off. Please please fitbit, the UK is a big market, cant we have a database?
How about linking your food database with myfitnesspal, as for whatever reason, Fitbit have been dragging their heels about including UK shops and foods since I got my first ever Fitbit last year.
It would be really helpful for me and others I'm sure to have a UK foods database . Using the U.S. version is a guessing game at best. It would also be nice to see nutrition information as well. These features are already part of the MyFitnessPal app which I have to keep using to log my food intake.
I waited patiently for my xmas present. My Fitbit is here. However, I feel really stupid now realising that, whilst i thought i'd done some research on the product, there's no UK food db on the software.
I'm doing battle with the US version - no idea whether that's a good thing on or not, and also adding in my UK food items when calorie info is known...
any news on when a uk food database is arriving, lots of posts requesting this
microsoft health and fitness app manages uk foods perfectly well through Bing i presume and with your new relationship with windows phone and desktop it should be easy to incorporate
Completely agree! The US database is completely different and pretty incompatible with brits. With fitness bands getting more and more popular in the UK, you're bound to lose out to competitors if a UK database doesn't arise in the near future.
There appear to be food databases for the US, France, Germany and a couple of Asian countries. In spite of the fact that Fitbit was launched here some years back, there is still no UK database. Are there any plans for this, or are UK users not a priority for Fitbit ?
