I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When?? Please make this your next release!!!!!
I would much rather have a waterproof fitbit than care about how many flights of stairs I am getting. I do like the post above where the garmin can control music. i would love to change the song or turn up\down the volume on my phone from my wrist but I am not interested in a large bulky device. Waterproofing is my number one wish! come on fitbit!
While I would love to buy a device with the features I want I am a fitbit user for life.
I started with a one in2012, upgraded to a flex and then a charge HR And now I've moved onto garmin I am loving all the features including the waterproofing!
I've also switched to Garmin Vivosmart HR and love it but the weekly progress report that I was getting from fitbit kept me on-track and now I'm not doing so good with my progress. Garmin doesn't have the automatic reporting, nor the reminder to charge the battery, so I would switch back to the fitbit Charge HR if it was waterproof.
I was wondering if you are going to be coming out with a waterproof Fitbit. One made for the pool or ocean would be great. I do a lot of water jogging and swimming . I have a Fitbit Charge HR, and am nervous about getting it wet. Hope there's something in the near future, it's summer! :sun:🌴
I am a heavy sweater, and even running has been enough to destroy to glue on my Charge HR 3 different times. I won't give up my heart rate tracking, silent alarms, or caller identification .... But other features could go if I could stop having to pause my workout to dry off my Fitbit after just 2 miles! Plus the bonus stats I'd get when swimming or doing chores in which it might get wet (in the country, there are lots of those) would thrill me!
I would love to get a new fitbit that is designed very much like the surge or the blaze but is waterproof. I would also suggest with this new fitbit, adding some new exercises like swimming laps, casual swim, and some others as well. We need a waterproof fitbit!!!
I do kickboxing for my cardio workouts and I'm always finding my exercise log screen is paused or has started some other workout or just didn't record anything at all. There needs to be a lock screen option PRONTO!!!
Can you guys please consider making your products (especially the charge hr) waterproof? My husband and I love the fitbit one and would like to upgrade to the charge hr but it's not waterproof and we spend alot of time; camping, swimming, fishing, and boating and I don't want to have to worry if I end up in the water that the tracker will be damaged or take it off and lose it. For that reason we are looking at the garmin and really considering switching for that one main reason. You guys really need to keep up with the technology if you'd like to stay the king of fitness trackers. I'd like a tracker that can work with my lifestyle.....not have to form my lifestyle to the tracker. I have been a huge and loyal fan and recommended fitbit to many friends and family but this one thing is probably going to be what makes us switch:(
I didn't realise before I bought it but the garmin had that option ... That's ok unless you decide you want to snooze through the alarm ! You have to wake up enough to unlock it then snooze 😂 not conducive to those extra ten mins
But other than that the garmin wins now and I have even started doing challenges with friends I have made
For the ones that bought the garmin vivosmart hr (Flgranny4, Fergelle, klm117) do you feel it's durable and can hold up to my lifestyle? (I'm outside doing farm work, camping etc). I'm afraid of breaking the screen. Have you guys had any issues? How was the customer service etc? Any other info you'd like to share about the garmin?
I have had mine three weeks now. It's been with me through gardening (sawing and digging up trees) and tearing plaster off walls (renovating the house)
I'd say it's more sturdy than the charge HR I have replaced plus you don't have to worry about it getting wet !
@shannonmaria - I've had my Vivoactive HR for several weeks now and love it. I've showered with it to test the waterproof feature and have sweat with it as well during hard workouts. I really like the way it interfaces with my Weight Watchers app - seamless! I had to manually add activities with the Fitbit HR bit not with the Garmin. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your Garmin at Best Buy and adding the Geek Squad Protection Plan. I did that when I purchased my Fitbit HR and when the band started to unravel (which was less than a year AND I was meticulous about not getting it wet) they credited my ENTIRE PURCHASE PRICE to the new Garmin Vivoactive HR that I bought. I get the protection plan on anything I purchase from Best Buy because it is so worth the money. Great customer service Best Buy!
I would love the same exact thing! I loved my Fitbit but live in Florida and were are always in the pool. So I would take off my fitbit and forget to put it back on later....and I would miss so much activity that day. I also could NOT stand having to charge it every few days. It was countless times of me laying in bed realizing that I needed to get back up again to charge the darn fitbit!
SO I SWITCHED TO VIVOFIT2. And I LOVE IT! However, Garmin's App doesn't hold a candle to Fitbit's and the app is what I do not love about my Vivofit. I love the friendly competition of staying active that you have on the FitBit App. You can easily find people you know and connect to them. With Garmin Connect, you have to know the person's exact screan name to find them. So I have 0 connections because here is a shocker...MOST PEOPLE HAVE A FITBIT!
PLEASE FITBIT - Make a tracker with a 1 year battery and waterproof and similar in size like the Vivotfit.
I will switch back in a heartbeat the minute FitBit has a tracker like the Vivofit - 1 year Battery and Waterproof! I mean it's such a simple concept. What is taking Fitbit so long to do this?
I have a Charge and can not wear it in the shower, the pool or the ocean. I have had the flex but upgraded to the Force. The force got broken, but sice I had boiught the Best Buy protection plan, they replaced the Force. I like the Charge and weart it everywhere that I can, but doesnot include shower, pool, Ocean etc.
After reading few comments and seeing this post was opened end of 2013 and its almost mid of 2016 and soon will be close of 2016 - yet no tracker out from this company, just goes to show they don't value feedback and work on shortcomings of their device. 3 years is a long time and having taken no steps towards making a device which support swimmers is really quite a shame.
Fitbit response to the users on not providing waterproof alternative shows they are not committed to making products excel customer/ industry expectations in great way and Also shows company's not really investing into new enhancements/ideas easily.
Samasung Gear fit 2 is out at $180.00........waterproof at least for swimming....plus a ton of potential....once their software catches up ( 6-8 months) They will grab major market share from fitbit. So Fitbit developers...what have you got to offer me? Love my FLex but your Surge is outdated already and the watch is pretty but NOT for an athlete. Help me out here. Price point is under $200 unless you support raising minimum wage to $15 nationally?
I am excited to hear about the Samsung Gear fit 2. It sounds like it will answer all of my concerns. I will wait as I research this fitness band from Samsung. I already have a Samsung Gear music player, Samsung S5 Galaxy and tablet. This post is very much appreciated
You need to release a waterproof fitbit. I was going to buy a sony or garmen because of the fact they have completely waterproof models. But my mum insisted i get a fitbit so we can use the app together. Now i have a fitbit, have only had it a few days. I love everything about it and love the app and the fact i can link with friends etc but have already almost got it too wet. Which made me realize i was right in thinking i need the waterproof ones. So just putting in my thought that you should make a waterproof one asap as im sure all the people i know and many others would prefer a fully waterproof version, us QLD aussie people spend the summer active and in the water so will be great to be able to leave my fitbit on at the beach and waterfalls etc 😊
