I just got my Sense 2 and have no idea how to install apps. Where is the app store? For example, I would like to install the Calendar app.

No Google is destroying Fitbit, they want you to buy the pixel watch so they are decommissioning anything to do with apps for the Fitbit watches so if you an IOS user your out of luck

As a fitness tracker it has the bells and whistles yet when I run I used the built in music pandora app and also the fact I would connect my ear buds to the watch and these functions were removed. So I would have to still carry my phone on runs. I think you are being very generous towards Fitbit and I believe the marketing on sense 2 was an upgrade with apps. Your mindset is this is a different watch as it is a tracker then if this is a case it is not then an upgrade but a different direction and Fitbit used misleading marketing to loyal customers especially those of us who pre paid prior to release and are still waiting for refunds after we returned a Mia marketed product !

As many of the professional reviewers have concluded, I share their conclusion that at best this version of the Sense 2 is an expensive fitness tracker and doesn't warrant the expense. To throw in the VERY BASIC functions of what is expected from a smartwatch avoids Google facing a head on collision with false advertising. As mentioned before, Google can not be trusted, has no clue about its devices, what the customers want and at what price point. The Pixel watch is an example, $400 for 18h of battery life with an ancient processor, a joke.

So, what you're saying is removing apps from the sense and the versa watches is, Ok ?

I'm not understanding what you are trying to say and where did you get that info on smartwatch, you didn't leave the link to the article

So please tell us what the upgrade from the original sense is to other sense 2, the physical button?

I stand corrected on my earlier statement. My previous device was a Versa which only had access to a few apps. I don't know that I consider watch faces "apps" but I do get your point.

I understand your point, but if you are an iOS user wouldn't an Apple Watch be a better solution if any only because of the integrated functionality? Or do you prefer Fitbit because it does certain things better than an Apple Watch (i.e. battery life)?

Just as an example, and no, I'm not a shill for Fibit, just trying to be a bit more objective than some, is it a true statement the Sense has EDA while the Sense 2 has cEDA?

I'm not trying to be petty, I'm trying to say that it's a little more nuanced than some are making it.

I'm absolutely in agreement that it seems some of the marketing is misleading, if not pointedly incorrect on their website, but that doesn't change the reality of what the product/device CAN do.

As far as the link for that specific "definition" of smartwatch, I intentionally didn't want to lead anyone a particular direction, just provide an example.

Google "smartwatch definition" and it's among the top results.

Out of curiosity, and for the benefit of others, what will be your device going forward?

I prefer a Fitbit smartwatch, I love the friend's challenges the long battery life and I would like what google has taken away from the Fitbit is the ability to download music to the Fitbit so we can run without the phone, don’t really care about all google services at all

My device going forward the jury is still out. Since I am in the Android world and have still till the end of October to return it I am wavering between staying on it and getting a Sense 1. My Versa 2's battery needed to be recharged every day before I went to bed, so Pixel Watch is a no go. The other alternatives the Garmin & Samsung 5 all have drawbacks I don't like. Since I am more in the smartwatch camp then the fitness, bar sleep tracking, I am out on the ledge ATM.

If you don’t care about EKG you should think about the Versa 3 it will save you some money and most of the features of the sense relays on the Fitbit premium monthly service that you don’t need with the Versa 3

Did the Versa 2 support the multitude of apps that was referenced above in regards to the Sense 1. I ask because my OG Versa did not.

I went onto Amazon and purchased two original sense trackers there as my original sense failed a day before my pre delivery of the sense 2. So I am staying with sense as it has all of the apps and tracking facilities and sensors I need for my runs and day to day life. Good luck with sense 2 !!

Be mindful on the return as Fitbit received mine 5 days ago at their warehouse and they said they still need to have 10 business days to review the returned product before they will issue a refund. Base this on the fact I returned the product via FedEx on the 29th and they state it take a week to be to them and another 10 business days to review, make sure you do not lose the return window

The Versa 2 does support a lot of apps similar to the original sense. The interesting this is on the Fitbit page as smartwatches they now only sell sense , versa 4 and versa 2 and the Google pixel. Original sense and versa 3 are gone

Let me put this into a perspective from my side. I am years past the RMDS requirement, so no interest into fancy exercise profiles, walking, swimming and bike riding. Sleep tracking and AFIB are of importance. The stress tracking I don't get it what the Sense 2 does, "how do you feel" pops up anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes after the event only ONE answer "Frustrated".

Don't need music storage on the watch and since I have my phone with me 99% of the time I want flawless and smooth integration between watch and phone. Having no 3rd party apps is not a deal breaker even though some 3rd party like Starbucks would be appreciated.

At present the notification between phone and watch is worst then my Versa 2. Slow plus it just vibrates and nothing on the screen. Answering a call from the watch when the phone rings worked on the Versa 2 and works on the Sense 2 well, but only taking the phone off hook. I am waiting for the wrist call feature to tell the caller I am wiping my butt.

So at the moment 55% staying with Sense 2 and 45% return it and get a Sense 1. I would have done it already if the Sense 1 had a physical button. I fear that Google took the money for the Sense 2 release and ran and has no interest in fulfilling its promises. Come on, its Google and they can't be trusted.

Please tell me you don't have a Facebook account either. 😉 (I jest).

Sounds like our needs a relatively similar. I find the stress stuff interesting, but like you say, having it appear that much later is a bit odd and not quite as helpful.

As far as notifications, I'm actually not having any issues as far as I know. What I've noticed, since most of my notifications are from Google Messages, is the initial notification is just the app the notification is from, but if I wait a few seconds the screen then displays the actual content. Do you have screen wake set to button and motion?
