Welcome to the Community, @edallen01.

Thanks for the details provided and your efforts while contacting our Support team. I'm sorry you're having this experience. Because you already have a case created, I'd recommend keeping an open communication with our team in order to receive further assistance. I'll also forward your post so they can have it on hand.

About your other question, to make contactless payments with either Google Pay or Fitbit Pay, it's required to have a Fitbit device that contains an NFC chip such as the Sense 2.

I'm having the same issue. Were you able to find an answer?

I also have the same issue.  Any updates on this?

I am also having this error. Any update?

So I too am getting the same error ie error connecting to sense 2. Tried everything reboots, removing Fitbit app and reinstalling & restarting watch, all unsuccessful.

Tried live chat last night but advisor couldn't help. All he could say was it was a known problem which they are working on. Scandalous that is advised to all customers current and prospective. Hopefully a solution will be found soon. But I see from the comments it's been a problem for several months

Yes. Very ridiculous. I had a charge 5 and changed to this just for google
wallet and it doesn't work. After the experience three last several months
this is most likely my last fitbit product. Google completely ruined them
and I love Google products. But man they screwed all of their supporters
on this and that is unacceptable!

Seriously need to solve whatever is the problem. For a tech company can't be that difficult if Fitbit is serious about customer satisfaction

Not yet,
Fitbit sent me to Google and Google is still looking into it.

Apple or Samsung wouldn't have this fundamental connection problem. If there is an incompatibility problem with Google wallet replace with Fitbit pay which worked for me.

Best Answer

Good luck. Google sent me back to Fitbit.

I'm having the same problem, spoke to Fitbit chat, then Google pay. And they have now sent me back to Fitbit. Each time they just give the usual procedure of uninstall, reinstall, update everything. Tried all of this and hard resets and still get the error message. What a mess.

If anyone finds a solution please post here as I seem to be getting nowhere after numerous chats and emails.

Thanks

Dear Lizzyfitbit

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I find this reply to be disappointing. In particular the following.

"Let me share our team is aware of this situation and while there isn't a time frame when this will be resolved, we're keeping our team informed of the impact to you and other members."

From what i have read synchronization between Fitbit and Google wallet is not a new or unknown issue. Google, as you know, now owns Fitbit. Big marketing of the availability of Google wallet with Sense 2. How many customers would purchase Apple if Apple pay didn't work.
Apparently no imminent plan to fix the issue. Absolute shambles. Disrespectful to customer

I was glad they at least acknowledged. But I do have to agree with you.
That's the standard canned response from fitbit/ Google.

I would bet that is what they want. Certainly doesn't make you want
anything Google would make if this is how they treat supporters and their
products.

I didn't have this issue on my first sense2. Just had it replaced under warranty and now having the same problem on the new watch. So weird

Best Answer

Exactly what happened to me.   I just received the replacement Sense 2 and now Google pay won't work on the replacement.  So I swapped out one problem for another ....

Best Answer

Having exactly the same issue. How can fitbit who are owned by google not be compatable with the newest models!

Very disappointing and it been a know error makes it worse for me.

I've just ditched my Fitbit and have switched to TicWatch. Really liking it
so far. Google pay even works. I have no plans on going back to anything
watches by google. I just don't trust them anymore. They just turn
features off, don't do anything to fix features that are promised and don't
work, or just discontinue products at a whims notice. So done with that.
I've been a major Google fanboy from the beginning of the first Droid. but
I guess I can't say I am now. Google has lost the understanding of what
customer experience and satisfaction is.
