HR on sense 2 - weird stats

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Got a Sense 2 and when I started training my heart rate was good to excellent in the overall trend. It’s now fair despite training more and doesn’t feel accurate. The help hasn’t been great, just to clean the watch etc… my resting heart rate today is usually between 53 - 61 which is ok, but this doesn’t seem to translate when I’m training and affects the overall score. Is anyone else having this issue?

Heart rate on my sense 2, and the calculations using it have become really bad in my experience.

My RHR as measured by Fitbit and Google Fit differ substantially despite using the same data, and it's not a reliable difference.

For example, Fitbit had my resting heart rate at 54 for the last 3 days. Google fit had it at 48.

Today, Fitbit put it up to 55 (I worked out yesterday, but my overnight HR dropped to ours usual mid 40s. Google fit reported a resting heart rate of 47.

It's like the back end of the platform has been abandoned.

I just took a spot reading and my HR was around the low 50s, bottoming out at 51. This is after an espresso and a short period of sitting and reading.

Resting heart rate still showing as 55. Clearly not right.

@Mcav75 it is known that Fitbit calculates resting HR different way and it's very secretive about the method. I believe, Fitbit's RHR isn't the lowest HR in rest but an averaged HR for periods of rest. It's just educated guess but it explaines why would Fitbit's RHR be always higher than the lowest reading at rest. Anyway, we will never know.

Thanks for the reply. As I noted, using exactly the same data, other platforms calculate the RHR consistently lower than fitbit whose calculation has become incresingly coarse and eratic of late. For example, I spent 5 days with a RHR at 55, while Google fit using the same data, detected movement each day of +/- a couple of BPM.

Until recently, however they calculated the RHR, it was at least consistently out of step with other apps, with a gap that could be anticipated. Now the gap between fitbit and Google fit/other platforms is widening and narrowing randomly.

As for why this is happening, it doesn't concern me that much - What I know is that I'll be moving to another platform as soon as I settle on my choice of device.
