I dont belive this. Galaxy watch is using same Google Wallet system. It would not make a difference what brand watch you buy. Plus you now have a half a day battery life. I've tried every brand out there - in Australia payments do not work via Google Wallet software on a watch of any brand.

It uses Samsung Pay and works perfectly. Have been playing with all the features flat out since yesterday and it's hardly used any battery. Really happy with it. Plus, there is no crazy monthly subscription to get all the features. Was a loyal customer of Fitbit (4 watches in total), but after this BS, I will never puchase again.

This fix worked for me! Successfully added the cards to fitpay. But you have to sacrifice old account 😑

Happy to hear my video worked for you!  There is a way to bring your data with you, I'll release another video.  It's not a 100% solution, but pretty close.  More to follow shortly!  Enjoy Fitbit Pay!

As of 6/18/2023 still no fix. This won't be an "app update fix" so let's stop the BS ideas. Approved cards work with Google Wallet on Android phones but do NOT work on Sense 2. As simple as that. This is a major fail, Fitbit!

Thank you! Have moved to Galaxy Watch - using Samsung Pay system, which works. Tiny disadvantages in usability vs how easy Fitbit was - but oh well, no other choice. Returned my Sense 2 for refund. Resetting Sense 2 like in video only works for older devices - that came with Fitbit Pay on them and later got manually updated to Google Wallet by the user. That's how it was on my first Sense 2 - and I managed to roll it back to Fitbit Pay. But then it sunk while boating underway. So I purchased one more of the same - but this time it came with Google Wallet preloaded at factory - so all the new ones are cooked out of the box, there is no resetting them.

I assume that almost everyone subscribed to this group did so because they couldn't add cards to Fitbit but...Out of curiosity, how many people were at some point able to add cards to Google Pay and the Fitbit watch and pay with it, without rolling back firmware?

I tried to add cards but after so long trying. In the end Fitbit took Lloyds Bank UK off the approved list. The other card JaJa in the UK, they decided to withdraw their credit card. Halifax which I use now is not on the list.

Yes! Which one did you get? The more I use this watch (Galaxy Watch 5 Pro), the more I love it. Agree that it's a bit tricky to use at first, but after 1 week I'm across it now. And when you think about it, Fitbit asking a monthly subscription to access all of it's features, is just so wrong. I just assumed all brands did the same, but no! Also, I used to wonder about the accuracy of the Fitbit sleep app and now know how inaccurate it was - the Galaxy is spot on.

On a side note, my husband just underwent open heart surgery for a valve replacement and went into atrial fibrillation twice afterward. His cardiologist recommended the Galaxy because it had a built in ECG. I got it for him when he had to go back into hospital after the second AF episode and we did a watch ECG while he was hooked up to the hospital one. It was 100% accurate - it literally mirrored the hospital monitor. I then checked out all the other features, (including pay by watch of course) and got myself one and have never looked back.

Goodbye Fitbit and enjoy your Galaxy @ChampDude

Be sure to bring your data with you across platforms!

NOTE: There will be a differences between the consolidated number of steps shown in Samsung Health when compared to the consolidated number of steps shown in Google Fit. This has to do with the differences in the way these vendors calculate the number of steps when analyzing fitness tracking data!

This has been going on for months now. Every time I raise it with support I get told to do the same pointless help steps (restart the app, force stop it, restart phone, change to different WiFi, etc) before eventually being told, once again, that there's no fix.

How can there be no timeframe for a fix for a completely blocking issue, affecting so many users? It's not good enough.

Like most people on this forum I am feed up with Fitbit since it was purchased by Google. Everything has gone down hill.

Even @LizzyFitbit doesn't even bother to give us any updates any more.

Fitbit support now is that technical term "rubbish". So far since this whole issue started I have had 3 cases opened and all have been closed with no resolution. Fitbit have also removed support for one of the cards that I have tried to add!!

Once my warentee runs out on my Sense 2 I will be off to a supplier who provides real support.

I am sure it won't be Google as their watch is even worse than the Fitbit products.

I returned mine to place of purchase and got a full refund without a problem when they heard why it was being returned.

Highly recommended the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. Will never go near a Fitbit watch again after this experience 😒

glad to see I'm not the only one who has had pending Support issues just auto-closed without resolution.... I have a new one opened now... but it'll probably be the same pattern of "we're working on it ..." repeated for a few weeks and then auto-close with no resolution.

@LizzyFitbit- I think a LOT of us would be much happier if you could provide ANY actual evidence that our issue with Wallet is being taken seriously.  I work in the software development industry... if engineers are actually actively working on this issue, I would think there would be SOME sort of progress that could be shared after all these months.

In the absence of any such evidence, WHY would you think we'd believe the messages that "we take your problem very seriously and we're working hard on fixing it".     I WANT to believe that is true.... you keep thanking us for our patience... how about a little something in return?

Or an honest statement that "Look, sorry.  This feature just doesn't work anymore and we don't support Google Wallet on the Sense 2."    I could live with that if Fitbit were at least honest with us.

@thirstycat I fully support what you have said here. Like you I worked in the software and telecommunications industry for all my working life. I wrote some of the standards for mobile data as well - they weren't the most efficient but they worked, they had too as 10's of millions of phones had them and still have them working.

What I can't understand is why it is taking so long to fix it and this terrible trait that Fitbit has of not giving any useful information to its customers.

Finally thrown in the towel after months of waiting. With no 3rd party apps, no Google Wallet and extra payment for 'premium' features the watch is just a fitness tracker pretending to be a smart watch.

Traded it in with Samsung along with cashback for a Galaxy Watch 5. Goodbye Fitbit, you've been a huge disappointment!

You won't look back. The Galaxy Watch 5 is awesome and, all the features come with the watch. Everyone needs to do this while they still can.

I was able to add cards after getting on chat and it's working as it should for me now. After so many negative comments I was positively surprised how fast they fixed it for me.

Hi, I am able to add cards (except AMEX but that's expected) - however when time comes to pay, at the **ahem** terminal I get an error that says stupid message: insert chip card into the reader, can not read card

This appears to be a global issue with most U.S. based merchants, I'm yet to hear from anyone with Sense 2 using Google Wallet (not the legacy Fitbit pay) where they are able to pay with their Sense 2

If such cases exist please tell us the merchant where this worked? Thanks
