Gorson, I have no issues at all now and I'm able to use it everywhere. I've added multiple cards (virtual Zilch card, Monzo, Revolut and Wise), I'm located in UK. Initially I wasn't able to add any card as my google wallet tile didn't work at all, I've seen it, but wasn't able to get in. After chat with fitbit it started working as it should. I've only noticed that I have to hold my watch for at least 3 seconds and really close to the reader.

I read this thread yesterday while I was waiting for my Sense 2 to be delivered and it got me really worried. The main reason I bought the thing was to make payments.

However I got the watch, set up my credit cards and went to the shops and had no problems whatsoever. It worked really well and I'm very happy.

I'm located in South Africa and I'm with FNB. In case other South Africans are looking for something to pay with now that FNB wants us to pay with our virtual cards.

Just thought I'd sign in to report that the latest firmware update has done nothing to address the "Something went wrong error" with Google Wallet.  Thanks for the new features that probably don't work either though!  Fantastic work.

July 2023 and the google wallet problem is still unsorted

Dear Fitbit,

When I purchased the Sense 2 in December, Fitbit pay was working.  I used it at least one time.

Then an update came through for Google Pay.  I may have even used it once with this method.

Since January 2023, this feature has been broke. I have called into the 'help' line a few times wishing for a fix.

If I were to purchase a car that has power windows as the feature, and they hadn't worked since purchase.   The manufacturer would be forced to accept the return as it is covered under a lemon law.

The advertised feature of paying through NFC on the sense 2 is false and misleading.

I recently returned mine to place of purchase and got a full refund without issue and think everyone should. Fitbit/Google have no intention of fixing this issue and the way they're treating their customers is reprehensible.

Highly recommended the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro that runs rings around Fitbit and without the absurd monthly subscription to access all of its features.

@schumbox I completely agree with you on this. They have now had basically months to fix this issue, since the Sense 2 was released. I used Fitbit Pay on my Sense and it worked perfectly every time. With the Sense 2 and the Google Wallet implementation I have never been able to get any of my cards to work. They even removed, from the supported cards, the card that I used on Fitbit Pay. The list of banks in the UK doesn't include most of the major banks either. They also don't seem to be interested in fixing it either.

What they should do is implement George Wallet, in a similar way they have implemented Google Maps - just pass specific data that they want to show on the Sense 2 from the Android Google Maps app. It can't be that difficult as Fitbit is now owned by Google, you get the feeling with what has happened here is "not invented syndrome" by Fitbit.

@LizzyFitbit any news on getting Google Wallet fixed on the Sense 2? I've now had a couple of cases opened with Fitbit support, we go through the same process of diagnostics, they then say it will be passed onto development, then a couple of weeks later, without any communications from Fitbit support they close the case.......

Folks,

I had a bit of good news today, one of the cards I have been trying to add to Google Wallet on my Sense 2 in the UK added OK for some reason. Been trying for months to add it, all I have to do is make sure I can use the Sense 2 to buy things using it contactless.

@LizzyFitbit I have just managed to add Halifax Bank (Mastercard) to Google Wallet on my Sense 2 in the UK after months of trying, you need to be aware that it is not on the list of banks for the UK. I haven't tested using it for buying things yet but will do in the next few days and tell you how I get on.

Got some great news!  You know that "Something went wrong.  Error connecting to Fitbit Sense 2.  Make sure it is close by and turned on" error?  Welp, I fixed it.  And I'll be releasing a video here on YouTube hopefully tonight, so you can fix it too.  Warranty replacement devices will now have Google Wallet returned to the Sense 2 in all its glory.  There is also a chance it may fix some of the other issues as well.  Excited?  Me too!  More to follow over the next few hours.

Lol you are never going to believe how you fix this error.  Confirmed working at terminal in pic above!

Hello, I won't be posting the video directly on this site, but you can however find it on YouTube by searching "Fix Google Wallet Error on Fitbit Sense 2 - Complete Guide! Enigma Studios Production".  I will only be answering questions in the comments section of the YouTube video.  Cheers!

Any feedback from FitBit on this?    I doubt it 😀

Yeah, it's been pretty quiet on that front.  The fact that Google Fitbit doesn't work properly with Google Wallet on Google Android is a bit embarrassing.  I would hope they are now hustling to fix the bug.

I can confirm that this solution works!   I'll refrain from entirely stealing Wave54321's thunder since I suppose he wants traffic to his youtube page, but the bottom line is that if you set up Google Wallet on the watching using an IOS device (iphone -- or in my case, my daughter's ipad), it works just fine!    Once you have Google Wallet set up with your card, you can switch back to syncing the watch with the Android fitbit app and it will continue to work.

The catch is that if you want to add a new card or modify the google wallet settings, you still need to use the IOS device.  That's right-- the Google Sense 2, using Google Wallet does NOT work properly on Google AndroidYou need an Apple device.   Kinda mind-boggling but there it is...

look up the you tube video referenced in the earlier post for the step-by-step details.

Thanks to this community for being dedicated and coming up with at least a viable workaround to Fitbit's incompetence.   I have NOTHING good to say for Fitbit support that has been "working hard" on this issue for me since April supposedly and still has NOTHING to offer in the way of a solution or workaround.

Happy to hear you got going with this solution!

Completely agree.  We've been ghosted by the forum mods and everybody is angry and returning their devices.  If someone (from Fitbit) is reading this, could you please respond??  I was sent a replacement "pebble" and it has this problem!!

They definitely appears to be ignoring the issue.

Hopefully they keep the fix working 🥳
