The help doc simply says that not all cards that Google wallet on your phone will be supported on the app. I believe it may be because the bank needs to enable something.

This makes no sense that my Visa card doesn't work with Fitbit Google pay. My Android phone uses Google wallet with my Visa card. Why can't fitbit? If it's Google wallet then it's already been established with my bank.

Have three cards in my Google Wallet on my phone, one of which worked perfectly with Fitbit Pay on my Sense. Now I have the Sense 2 none work. Not even the one that worked with Fitbit Pay. This is terrible. Moderator when 8s this going to be fixed.

This is a problem I’ve come up against having upgraded from Versa 3 to Sense 2.

Check this list of supported banks and cards by country

FitBit Pay insisted I change to Google Wallet. I checked that my card and bank are supported, and they are. The problem has arisen where it seems FitBit / Google Pay are not communicating with my bank to get them to send a 6 digit verification code needed to add a card from Google Wallet to my FitBit tracker. I’ve been in contact with FitBit Support, Google Support and my bank. The bank has everything set up, the problem is with FitBit / Google who as of now are each blaming each other - even though they’re essentially the same company. This is so ridiculous.

My bank and card are listed as supported. Every time I try to put the card into google wallet on the phone attached to the fitbit sense 2 it takes the card number, expiration date, address and cvv code, I then press continue and the app shows a spinning circle, and eventually, the app comes back to tell me my card and tap watch are not supported by the bank which is not true. The bank tells me they are not seeing any effort from my device to engage in any transaction that should be occurring. I have spoken to 4 different people from the bank on this issue and they don't see the app attempting to do anything. I really have to wonder if google/fitbit moved its server range to different addresses and are being blocked by a firewall someplace.

I have the same issue.

It looks like Fitbit are not interested in fixing it.

There is definitely an underlying issue with the Sense 2 Google Wallet which Fitbit must address.

Moderator please raise this issue to a high priority with Fitbit as this is making the Sense 2 customers very unhappy and frustrated.

Have the same issue, called the bank 5 times, they said they received no request at all. Nobody takes responsibility for this problem and it seems to be a major problem that happens to many users. Fitbit conveniently put on a document that said " your card might not work" while widely advertised this function. I give up

I received the following instructions from FitBit support in an email where they offered to solve this issue. These did not fix the problem for me, but perhaps they might be somehow useful to others:

1. Restart their Fitbit device and phone, to restart your device, follow these instructions
Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

2. Restart Bluetooth on their phone, once you turn the Bluetooth off and then turn it back on, your device will lose the connection and will not be paired, once you do this try to set up your device again.

- Go to the Today tab, and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Set Up a Device.
- Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

3. Force quit the Fitbit app.

Try to add your card and check if It works, if the issue persists please contact us again by replying to this email.

I have replied to their email sending a screenshot and explaining that this "fix" didn't work for me. For now, I would strongly advise any other customers not to make the mistake I have made, take FitBit at their word that card and Google Wallet are fully supported. Do not switch to Google Wallet from FitBit Pay, even though you'll have to ignore the alerts and reminders to do so.

I'd imagine any new FitBit Customers won't be able to use FitBit Pay at all and so will find themselves in the same boat. Up until now I've found FitBit support to be very good and prompt. This is now not the case. They know what the issue is inasmuch as the problem is in their platform requesting authorization codes from banks, and they seem neither capable nor willing to fix the problem promptly, while still forcing customers to move to Google Wallet which they know is unreliable.

Thanks for sharing but it didn't help either.

Google Wallet Fitbit is simply not the same as Google Wallet and they "forgot" to mention this when advertising. Shame.

Best Answer

They sent the same to me and it also didn't work.

Moderator can you get this escalated to the highest level as this feature is obviously it working!

Best Answer

Doesnt work for me either.  I even tried a fill reset of the watch.  This is ridiculous.

Same problem here. Fitbit has Open Bank in Spain as a capable card for google wallet and don't works. Same with ING card... I want fitbit to solve this asap

I opened a case on this with Fitbit Support some time ago, I have heard
nothing since they told me it was escalated.

This feature (Google Wallet) and the lack of Google Maps are two of the desasters with the Sense 2. It's now a new year let's hope Fitbit do something urgently to sort these issue out. The support that Fitbit have provided so far has been terrible - it is like they are following a script "if this issue send this message" which normally doesn't work.

Moderator please take our case up with Fitbit and get this escalated and come back to the forum and tell us what is happening!!

I might have both fitbit and Google pay on my Versa 4. My one card did not easily carry over from Google Pay., and when I tried setting up, it opened Fitbit Pay, not Google pay

As fitbit mentioned, not all cards that work with Google Pay, will work with Google Pay on the tracker. My guess is that the bank may need to do something to make it work.

I really regret updating to google wallet on my sense 2.

Fitbit knows that there is a problem. Why don't they give us the option to go back to fitbit pay?

Fix the problem in google wallet on Vers 4 and Sense 2, if it is not possible, then at least give your customers the option

to go back to fitbit pay.!

ABN AMRO debit card Netherlands should work on fitbit sense 2, but it can't be add to the wallet.

It worked in fitbit pay and it worked the last few years on my Versa 3.

Looks like they are not interested in fixing much these days, I agree. I opened a support case, told it was to be escalated after working with them. since that day I have heard nothing. I have other features that don't work as well and I am in the US. This watch with its no support for third party apps. Broken wallet which is completely useless to me for all cards and a setup for afib monitoring that is just greyed out makes for a pretty lousy experience. If they are going to offer a  watch the basics should work before you try to get people to expend more money for premium.

---------------

Feature is useless to me as all the cards I have are already in google wallet for years, just not the broken one attached to the watch. I spoke to numerous people at my bank who would be happy to make it work, but they insisted they are not even seeing the request and to add insult to injury fitbit doesn't even follow up with the customer after the script they had me try, failed and I was told it was being escalated.

I did those steps also, useless for me as well.

-----------------

Join the club. No third-party apps, broken wallet, and greyed-out afib notifications. I should have bought somebody else's product. I really had better expectations than what I found post-purchase.

Watch really feels like a product on the way out.
