I recently had my Charge 5 fail after a year and a half. I upgraded to a Sense 2, or so I thought.. from HR to tracking sleep this thing is not gathering data correctly. Apparently I’m only getting 1 hr 15 minutes of sleep. (Which is false) When comparing what my device reads for HR to a finger pulse oximeter its off by around 20 BPM consistently. I have no means of independently measuring HRV but I would wager that’s likely not accurate as well.
This device was advertised as the most accurate in their lineup … it is most certainly not. I’ve reset the device, changed sleep sensitivity to “sensitive”. .
I never had an issue with the Charge 5, other than it breaking, nor with the charge 4 before that… other than it breaking. I didn’t care that they clearly weren’t built to last, as long as they were functioning as advertised.
If a fitness watch cannot accurately gather data, what good is it as a fitness watch? If this is any indication of Fitbits future performance now under the ownership of Google, it goes without saying I’ll be looking somewhere else now and in the future.

Looking a bit closer at my data it appears during the night the watch stops logging HR or tracking sleep for periods of time, it looks the same as it does when I take off the watch for a shower. I’m not sure if those gaps in measurement are what’s throwing off the other data or what..

I've had the exact same history. Charge 4 and 5 both broke, but at least were accurate. Since i've had the sense 2, none of my heart rate tracking info is accurate, It keeps giving me "inconclusive" messages when trying to do an ECG, and the sleep tracking is wrong. i've reset it and restarted it. still no luck.

I’ve given it a couple more days to see if things worked themselves out but they have not. Using two other heart rate measuring devices I can see that it’s off by a bit more than I thought, I knew something was off today when I was notified I had “earned” 450 zone minutes.. Checking my heart rate against two pulse oximeters it shows my heart rate steady at 75/80 on each device depending on how I had my arm raised. At the exact same time the watch is reading 135. . At this point I’m not sure if there’s any point in trying to continue with this. It certainly isn’t going to fix itself, lol.
