Sense 2 battery keeps draining

ANSWERED

Hi. My watch battery keeps draining within 2-3 days even after a 100% charge. I use the watch as just that - a watch and I track my steps and sleep. I don't have any other notifications or apps set up. This has started over the past 2 weeks. My watch is just 18 months old and from having to charge every 6-7 days, I am now having to do this almost every 3rd day. Need help please.

You device is most likely soon to be a paperweight. My device updated last July and the battery life plummeted. It updated again in December 2025 (3 months after the update release) and it’s officially dead. Will only turn on while connected to the charger. They (Fitbit/Google) does not offer battery replacement and they do not recommend having it done. Customer support told me my device was dead even though there was an update available. When I questioned them I was told that the update wasn’t available even though their very own website showed an update was available. Long story short the newest update didn’t fix anything. So I tell everybody to research their next device and make sure the battery is replaceable before purchase.

Good day!

I am sorry the Sense 2 is draining so quicky. Is the Always On Display activated? When I used AOD the watch would need to be charged every three days. With AOD off I get six to eight days. Have you tried a factory reset or firmware update? Also, with it being 18 months old, is there any warranty still on it?

I hope this provides some help.

Hello. I have AOD off.  This is a new phenomenon. My watch is fully updated and I think there maybe a bug in this update as I have seen a number of complaints to this effect with no firm solution by the Fitbit guys. Guess I have to just wait and watch and keep charging as it does out. Thank you for reaching out.

Thank You....i guess it is indeed a dead paperweight and I need to start looking at options.  Customer Support asked me to clean all the charging points, change the ways I charge my watch etc and try again, but nothing has worked.   This was a very expensive investment that has gone dead in 18 months.

The same thing is happening with mine. My fitbit is only 13 months old and draining every day! I charged it yesterday at 11:06 and this morning at 8:54am it's drained down to 56% which is ridiculous. I've done all the updates and suggestions but to no avail, if anything it's worse! Need help again.

Hi everyone!

Thank you for your messages! I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue regarding the battery of your Sense2.

In addition to what has already been recommended, please let me suggest you to verify your phone's operating system: For more information, refer to Check & update your Android version or Update your iPhone or iPad.

Confirm you are not using the AOD mode.

Confirm if you already restarted your device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Hi there. I checked my iPhone and it is up to date. I am not in AOD mode. I
did a restart again a few minutes ago and all that comes up on my fitbit is
the fitbit logo, nothing else comes back to normal.
When I go on my app on my phone it says "couldn't sync your Sense 2" open
help.
I don't know if I should plug it back in to charge and see what happens?

Hi. I am on an Android device. I went through all the recommended steps with no luck. Contacted Customer Service at Google Support who recommended a few more cleaning options of the charger pins and the phone itself. Nothing worked. Was eventually told by them as my phone is out of warranty (18 months old), no replacement is possible, no service centre in my country, there is nothing more to be done. In short, junk the watch. Simple solution for an expensive investment!!!! The watches should come with a warning label, once out of warranty, don't bother with it any longer if it stops working and none of the solutions work.

I then plugged it back at 12:17 pm and as of 2:23 it is now 100%. by the
way, I just checked my fitbit at 2;31 and the battery is at 90% already (8
minutes later?)

This is only 13 months old. I have a hard time believing that I have to
charge it every day, when your website says that the battery should last
almost 6 days (which it was when I first got it).

I'm just frustrated as when it's charging, my daily steps aren't being
counted along with other features.

I am experiencing the same issue. Contacted support and they agreed that the battery was draining too fast or not reading correctly. Now they are researching my warranty to see if it can be replaced.
