Sense 2 lost data after syncing

Hi,

After a walk I synced my Fitbit and phone. Once I did this I lost all my data for today and the time reset itself to a random time but did retain the correct date. Basically it now looks like I have only managed 300 steps and 1 floor. I have tried to reset my Fitbit and the time is now correct but the other data is still wrong. Is there anything else I can try or do I just have to accept that I know roughly my exercise for today? Thanks

Hi there, @Lynnefros. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear about your lost data. I understand where your concern is coming from, we're here to help you! @Guy_ Thank you so much for input!

Keep in mind that if you stopped wearing/syncing your Fitbit device for a while (I'd say more than 7 days or so),  please note that it's an expected behavior as you should've logged in to sync your Fitbit device before wearing it again. Going a bit deeper into this, note that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

However, if you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. For more information, see How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Nevertheless, to avoid this from happening again, make sure that your Fitbit device is syncing properly. If you found out to have syncing difficulties, please see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?. Keep in mind that if your Sense 2 doesn't sync, it would also start showing the wrong time as your Fitbit uses the time of the device you're syncing with.

Hi @Lynnefros - if you factory reset your watch any data not uploaded to the Fitbit servers by successfully syncing will be lost.

Do check in the Fitbit app, device page (Connected to) that your phone is not connected to your account or any other connected apps is not interfering with the results.

Hi,

I tried syncing three tines before resetting. I do not have any other apps
that would interfere so if this happens again what should I do?
I have had a Fitbit for about 7-8 years and this is the first time I have
had an issue.
Thanks
