Sense 2 won't sync properly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, my sense 2 is not connecting to phone app in a stable way.

For ex. sleep data on the watch says "no data yet", and it randomly shows the data during the day.

Phone notifications show on watch sometimes. Totaly unreliable for meetings for ex.

I see that if I force stop and reatart the fitbit app, it syncs immediately. Same if I stop and restart bluetooth.

Tried already to reset. No luck.

I have a Samsung S23 ultra.

Please help!

Do you have the Fitbit app running in the background on the phone?

Hi, yes. I also try to sync manually from the app. It seems that data
arrives from the watch to the phone, but not the other direction (for ex.
also weather is not up to date). App has permission to run in background,
it is not optimized.

Then randomly, or after restart of bluetooth, or kill and restart of the
fitbit app, the data are downloaded immediately from phone to watch.

Hi there, @sasaP. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Sense 2 is still not syncing properly. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!

As a first approach, I suggest following the troubleshooting steps provided in this help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If the issue persists, please try the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Sense 2 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

@DramaQueenDiva Thanks for trying to help!

Hi, I have already tried all of this. Considering that when Fitbit app is
killed and restarted it then works, it seems a lot like some bug in the app.

Which platform are you using?

EDIT: Never mind, answered my own question.

Is the app updated?

Hi @sasaP - if you look in the forums others experience a loss of connection from versions of the V4 Fitbit App which can have this recurring bug.

App is updated automatically. So yes, super updated.

I think this should be analyzed by developers from the app. Knowing that the bidirectional sync works when app is killed and restarted, or right after bluetooth is restarted, should make them understand how to solve the bug.

In the mean time, thanks to all for the suggestions. Hope we can put an end on this frustration...

Fitbit, please take out some pride and get this solved!

Hi, I'm also having all the same problems you have mentioned and I've tried everything that has been mentioned to do, but it's still not working.

Tonight the clock face has changed by itself and I've also lost all of my information on my steps, sleep plus more.

Hope it can get fixed.

I'm having the same issue, my sense 2 will not sync data or update time and date. I've tried everything. I wouldn't have thought the phone matters as long as the app works. I also subscribed to Fitbit Premium.

My details have come back but they are all in a different order to what they were, steps no longer at the top of the page, sleep is 😞 I still cant change the face of my fitbit. I have changed to the google setting but even before changing to that i had lost all my data history and have only have that information from last thursday. I had fitbit premium but cancelled it a while ago and when i did i didnt lose any info.

I have a similar issue. My sense2 has stopped registering heart rate and therefore active zone minutes. Have tried switching on/off both watch and iPhone, and also disconnecting blue tooth and then pairing again. Nothing working. Been working absolutely fine for many years on this and previous Fitbit, so can’t see how it can be user error, surely must be a bug?
