I've searched and read how the altimeter can malfunction. I live in Florida, it's dead flat, no two story houses almost at all. It's not that windy, not compared to the last state I lived in which worked with a different Fitbit(charge 2)
My sense recognizes up to 100 floors in a day when my elevation has not changed at all. I just took a half mile, flat walk, 63% humidity, mainly no wind but weather says 3mph.
I just recently deleted the app, removed it from Bluetooth, reset a few things because an Android update made the sleep function completely stop working. This issue occurred before and after the reset.
I work with electronics and the internal motion units we use are only able to withstand 10lbs of force, so I'm getting the impression it's either calibrated wrong or the IMU (gyroscope) is damaged
Best AnswerSorry I meant to add, this happens inside a climate controlled warehouse. There are not any major pressure changes, it shows me as climbing a hundred floors when I'm at work in a flat building for ten hours, air condition and humidity controlled due to electronics
Best AnswerIt used to be fairly accurate in the first firmware, however it is abysmal now. Last run i went on a well known route with approximately 33 height meters resulted in 120 height meters.
Try installing the altimeter app and you will see it dropping 10 meters when walking down a 2 m staircase outside and the opposite when walking uo again. As if they have mixed feet with meters and on top of that tried to smoothen out the curve leading to hilarious results if there is any hills, lots of elasticity and delays just like the HR algoritm 😂
I actually have the altimeter app, but am confused as to how it works. It let's me zero it out, which I figured it would automatically detect my elevation. I'll have to Google it and figure it out, cause I want to see that lol
