Enhancement request - coexisting trackers

I have a Fitbit Sense, that I am very happy with, but I have had some trouble with charging and I will get a replacement, as soon as I send the current watch to Fitbit. So problem solved.

But I decided a backup would be nice to have for these situations. So after doing a quick online search checking if you can have more than one tracker connected and every search result looked like an "of course, since 2015", I decided to buy a Luxe. It just arrived and it is very pretty, and would work perfectly as a backup and as a less chunky watch for going out. BUT now I realized that my initial search was wrong and that written in an extra box are described all current adult trackers and watches on sale, and that they do not support this amazing feature of coexisting trackers.

This unfortunately means that I just used a lot of money just for having a tracker while my Sense is being changes, and that if I choose to interchange frequently I will have to set up my Fitbit wallet and everything everytime I want to switch watches. BUMMER!

So my question is, is it on the table that trackers will end up being able to coexist again in the future? If so, when is the release planned? If not, would you consider adding this feature in the future, now that you basically don't sell any trackers that will coexist?

Feedback: If not, maybe you should update all your help pages, so they describe before anything else that most new trackers cannot coexist, but that an older tracker paired with a newer one is possible.

Hello @BlueSunshineDK ,

you expressed your opinion very well and I confirm that many other users are sharing the same opinion.

However unforortunately you will not get any specific reply from any of the Fitbiti representative other than a generic "we are striving to improve.....".

The feature request apparently has been done in 2014 (something not right here as the latest generation of Fitbit device with this specific issue is more or less 3-4 years old) and it is "under consideration" whatever it means.

Honestly speaking, consider that Fitbit was never able to implement it so far and that it is rumored that Fitbit is switching to Wear OS, I don't have much hope on it.

Thanks. You're probably right.

I do think that it is rather critical that the help section seems to say yes, when it is obvious that for most pairings it will be a no these days. It should be better communicated. If it had been, I wouldn't have bought that luxe.

@BlueSunshineDK - you are right. It is critical NOT to have bad info in Fitbit Help. Could you please provide a link so we can report it?  When I searched Help for “multiple devices on one account,” I found this, which clearly says no regarding the Lux.

Hi Carol

Thanks for the answer.

As I hope was evident from my post, I did find the article that you are referring to - I would recommend that Fitbit updates it, because it mentions the Luxe and ALL other adult bands and watches that are currently for sale, which overrides the content of the actual article if you are looking this up before buying. I only read that far in the article after buying my extra unit and not being able to make the switching, that I had read about, work.

The article could start by saying:

Adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard. This is however not possible with newer Fitbit devices, check the note to see if you have a device that is not compatible with this feature.

With that being said, I am still bummed that this feature is not working anymore and that it seems that it isn't coming back. It would be extremely useful!
