Fitbit Sense Infinity band compared to old standard bands

The standard plastic "elastomer" bands that came with the Versa lines always gave me skin irritation after a couple of days.  I currently have a 3rd party metal band on my Versa 2 that I love.  I'm guessing that the Sense and Versa 3 won't take Versa 2 bands (since it sounds like the band release is improved, yay!).  I'm wondering if anyone beta tested the device/band and has feedback on if the new silicone bands are less prone to causing skin irritation.

@cyclingmom Hello!  I believe the new bands have an extra soft "double" coating.  This should help with skin irritation, however, it's important to remember that some people just have more sensitive skin and may still need fabric or metal bands.

There seems to be woven and leather bands on the Fitbit store for the Sense and Versa 3 (although no metal). I think these would help reduce any irritation as @Heather-S mentions.

Be patient and maybe in a couple of weeks you will see a lot of different bands on Amazon and Ali Express. They will probably be way cheaper then what the Fitbit store sells them for.

I am the same with skin irritation, I get it from all sorts of stuff. I found what helps is to rinse off the band/back of the watch frequently. I also have Phone Soap (UV sanitizer thing for phones, etc) that I put the watch in every so often. That also tends to help, at least I notice when I don't do it for a while.

Yes, I need the metal band. I have worn my Sense for 1 day and it is already irritating my skin.

1 day and I’m having issues. I really need the metal band for the Sense.

The band doesn't irritate,  but I hate these cheap looking bands on my premium watch! Elastomer, silicone, whatever - I am not impressed!  It looks like the plastic band on my first children's watch decades ago, and the notch system makes me choose between a little too tight and a little too loose. I use a Fitbit metal mesh band for my Versa 2 which is great quality, more precisely adjustable, easy to put on with one hand, and captive pins for easy changing of the band.  My Versa 2 is black,  so my band matches my watch, but they never made one in rose gold to match their other Versa color offering. I have some third party bands too.  I don't understand why Fitbit can't have a full complement of bands ready at ship time. It's not just a "fitness watch" I wear while exercising,  I wear it all the time,  so it needs to look nice not just with sweats. Even the cloth one I ordered with the watch is back ordered until October.  I'm hoping for good third party options,  but so far the only metal ones I see on the market have cheesy rhinestone bling.  Sorry for the rant,  but come on Fitbit - this is underwhelming  product management.

Ive ordered a Milanese steel magnetic band from eBay, same type as I had on my Versa. I hate the rubbery bands these devices come with!

I have Premium, so I received my Sense last Tuesday and its been almost a week since I received.  I will say, that I actually do like the new band.  So far it hasn't caused any skin irritation and its pretty comfortable.  The ivory color goes nicely with the gold Sense.  I might look into other third party bands, but this band is a huge improvement over the standard bands that came with the Versa.

Thanks NexusOne - I hadn't found a plain metal band!  I don't like the magnetic ones cause it get stuck to things like the shopping cart handle (in normal times) and I work with electronics,  but I found a metal link band for Sense on eBay.  Much appreciated.

I've had my Versa 3 for 5 days and the band doesn't irritate my skin like the previous ones. I don't want to jinx it, but so far I love the new band.

Are you sure about the Milanese magnetic band for Sense NexusOne?  I only see some on eBay for Versa 2. You  can even see the Versa 2 style pin in the screenshots, and that won't fit Versa3/Sense

I have just come on to look if anyone had an issue with the band of the Sense. I had a Charge 3 before with the black plastic band and had no issues. I have had the Sense on less than two days and had to remove it due to this irritation on my wrist ( this is just past where the strap goes under the band)

I am not prone to skin sensitivity generally.

I wonder if they have changed what it is made of?

I bought one of the only nylon bands on Amazon for the Sense.  It works great and has infinite adjustments.  It adjusts with velcro.

Turns out it's the same as the one I used for the Versa.

Where did you find a Milanese for Sense? I haven’t seen any except one seller in China who is mixing up devices and bands to the point I don’t trust what he’s showing.

I have wirn fitbit for years no issues. I purchased a fitbit versa 3 last week and I'm breaking out on my wrist where the band slides back in loop.

First thing I did was find a stainless steel Milanese band. Took a couple weeks until I found any and the silicone band that came with the Sense drove me nuts.

I have the Versa 4, I've had a fitbit for years and never had problems until now. I now swap arms as soon as it gets bad. but can't find a replacement metal band.
