Fitbit Sense completely died

My Fitbit Sense completely died last night.  Had a full charge, and noticed it was warm earlier in the night.  It cooled after I put my wrist in front of a fan, but I didn’t think much about it until bedtime when I went to set my alarm.  Nothing would work to turn it on.  I attached it to the charger (just in case, but it has been fully charged yesterday afternoon), and it became too hot to touch.  Now trying to find out how to get it replaced.  It was a gift Dec 25, 2020.

Hi @Heatherd213 - warranty is 1 to 2 years depending on country law, if valid still, take it to the shop for replacement. Otherwise look in the shops, the watches are being discounted with new models possibly [unconfirmed] arriving in the fall. So may be you can get a new one cheaply at the moment.

The symptoms of getting hot is possibly due to water getting in causing a short circuit. You can always try drying in a bag of rice for a week, it may start again but may not be very reliable as there must be internal damage for it to overheat.

Thanks.  As stated, it was a gift, but appears to be past the warranty period.  Looks like a new one will be in my very near future.
I appreciate the response.

Finally was able to contact Fitbit, and they are sending a replacement.  Seems to be an isolated issue, so hopefully the replacement is the same one I have, and it comes quickly as we use our trackers in tandem with our health insurance!  👍

Do you know if yours is under warranty still? I had this issue too and they didn't send me a replacement.. mine is also from December 2020

I don’t know.  I contacted Fitbit directly, though, and after a plethora of questions, they are sending a replacement.  I would recommend contacting them directly.
