Fitbit Sense won’t turn back on

Issue is like my old Fitbit Versa, battery runs out, put on charge, won’t turn back on. I’ve tried pressing the indentation still nothing. WTF? Pay enough for this watch not to have this issue obviously something Fitbit needs to work on!

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thank you for sharing your experience and troubleshooting. If your Sense display is unresponsive, try restarting it by doing the following:

  • Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, and then release the button.
  • For more information please see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

@Theresa79, it shortens the life of the battery if you continuously let it run continually down until the watch shuts off, and then recharge it. It is preferable that you charge when the battery is low, but till active. If you enable the setting to notify you when the battery is low, the watch will tell you when it needs to be charged.

For turning on the watch, are you pressing and holding the side button for at least 10 seconds?

@Theresa79 Thanks for joining us!

Sorry to hear that your Fitbit Sense isn't turning. Did you try the instructions that @USAF-Larry gave you? He described what is known as a restart as the official instructions state the following: "Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, and then release the button."

I look forward to your reply.

Not sure if this was resolved but I was having the same issue just recently and was looking into it and seen this post. Apparently my charger wasn’t connecting properly because although I clean it regularly there was stuff getting in the little holes on the back where the charger connects. I cleaned the little holes then it connected properly and started charging then turned on.

This ended up being my issue exactly. Had to take a toothpick and clean what appeared to be dead skin out of the little charging areas. Thank you SO much. I was at wits end with this thing. I'd give you 100 upvotes if I could.

I just bought my Sense yesterday. Charged it fully and couldn’t get it to receive text notifications. I turned it off to try to fix it ans it won’t turn back on. Pressed and held for at least 10 seconds and still nothing. It is fully charged. Any thoughts?

I am having the exact same issues! Any luck?

Nope. The original one I bought never came back to life. I contacted customer service and they walked me through a couple of last ditch efforts to no avail. So they sent me a new one for free—no shipping or anything. Other than not displaying my text or call notifications, it works like a charm.

I literally just had this happen to me 10 minutes ago. I connected the charger and came back two hours later to it completely dead. I didn’t have the right cord plugged in! So I plugged in the correct cord and came back an hour later and it wouldn’t turn on. I pressed and held the side button for about 10-15 seconds then let go and the Fitbit symbol appeared about 3 seconds later. It didn’t charge at all while it was dead and plugged in but it is charging now!

Hi,

I have followed the instructions to reboot it. The logo appears on my screen but doesn't go any further than that. It was fully charged when the screen stopped displaying. No lights flash on the back even though I have it on the charger.

Do you have any suggestions?

I did the same and after charging my replacement overnight ( where is vibrated and pulsed the entire time. My original one never did that while charging! It looked like it was cycling through loading down multiple languages.). This morning I went to try to pair it to Bluetooth and it will not turn on AT SLL. I've pressed power button and attempted a hard start by holding down for ten seconds several times. Nothing, no logo, just black. No sending lights are lighting up on the back either. I've checked to make sure outlets are fine etc. Can Fitbits Quality Control really be this poor???

I tried them but that did not resolve my issue:/

My sense just stopped working this morning will not come on and will not vibrate, tried to hard rest to no avail and will not charge. its bricked. Very disappointing.

My Sense did the same thing yesterday. This is the second fitbit I've had that suddenly bricked after a software update. I think they do it on purpose.  $300 down the toilet. I'm done with Fitbit and won't give them any more of my money.

If your watch won't come it may be because it has not charged, and needs cleaning or the charger has a fault. The watch may be fine.

Best Answer

Hi @ppenrose  - did you read the post before yours? If it's cleaned properly did you get a replacement charger?

If your watch is not charged it won't work.

The **ahem** thing was charged and when it came on it had lines all over it and
was unreadable. Their equipment is crap as I've gone through 2 of them over
the last 3 years. I've switched over to a Galaxy watch. Fitbit has stolen
enough of my money.
