Email received from Fit Bit today
We noticed you’ve used Pandora or Deezer within the past 6 months and wanted to share an important update. Pandora and Deezer will be removed as of March 31, 2023. This means you will no longer be able to download Pandora stations or add Deezer playlists to your device, nor will you be able to play anything that you have previously downloaded.
Must say that is dissapointing news. I've spent much time building up playlists on Deezer. Will now to switch to Spotify and cancel my Deezer membership.
What are people's thoughts on this ? Spotify any good?

Thanks for your reply Guy - I did realise you could use music controls, didn't realise you then contended premium. But I really don't want to take my phone with me. I bought the Ionic specifically to transfer music onto the watch, so I can exercise without having my phone with me. Fitbit stopped that. Then they recalled it. Then they gave me the Versa, which I chose - because I could get a Deezer subscription and voila, I can transfer music onto the watch.
Then I get the email. I feel if Fitbit had been honest about withdrawing the Deezer app when they recalled the Ionic, I would have chosen a refund, I would not have had the Versa. I think most people who had the Ionic recall would have chosen it because of the ability to go without a phone and store playlists on the watch. Recalling the watch was poor enough in the first place, but it was dishonest not to warn customers choosing an alternative product, that Deezer would be withdrawn. Fitbit may have made a mistake here - I for one will be making a formal comp!ain't and asking for my Ionic purchase money back. I made a choice of product based on I formation they knew was misleading at the point of purchase.
It's at best really poor customer understanding, at worst it's sharp practice. Never thought I would say this, but I am never having another Fitbit.

I agree as I bought the Fitbit watch because I can listen to music without taking my phone. Now I have to take the phone with. Really disappointed with Fitbit their don’t care attitude. We pay for a Deezer account to use on the Fitbit watch.

Dear Community,
I used and loved Fitbit for 10 years. But now they remove the music feature from sense. First I was able to upload music for free on my versa 2. I was happy with it..Then fibit removed the free download... I was a bit angry but then I said to myself I like my watch. After that on Sense I paid for deezer (even though I have Spotify for more than 10 years) to listen to music when I run. Music is my second life next to science. And now it's time to find another company where they let me listen from my watch music. Fitbit was a great company always helped me and always was nice. But with the new era I think this will be the end for me with the journey. I will use my sense until it dies, but after that....:(

Decided to make a post every day until Fitbit or Google answers what the plan is to replace Deezer and Pandora since they are removing both options end of March.
This is day one of making these posts...posts will continue until we get some actual answers!

I think the answer is there will be no replacements. You need to consider other options.

I think you might be right, and if that's the case I will be moving away from Fitbit, might even move away from Google too. But I believe we deserve an official answer so I will be making these posts until we get one.

What a funny move to retrieve Deezer from the equation. What else is planned to frustrate us?
Not only the customer has to pay for that service and when it is done, you are just sorry not to continue with it. Any other brilliant ideas?

Dear Fitbit Mods,
Merging my thread into another thread will not stop me from making a daily thread until we are giving an answer. Day 3 will be tomorrow.

Me too. It all seems geared up to slowly throttle fitbit in to non existence as I believe you can use Deezer on the Google Pixel watch. If that is the case we should all be given the option to get that at a heavily discounted price as I'm not swapping to Spotify after years of building my Deezer playlists. Why ruin a good thing?

I always thought it was an awesome function being able to download and play from your watch. The benefit in todays world of NOT running with your phone is obvious but now we have to carry our phone if we want music - completely defeats the object of the Sense ... whole reason I got the Sense was so I could play my music and leave my phone! Been an avid fitbit supporter for over 10 years but next upgrade is definitely going to be for a SMARTwatch that doesn't need my phone with it to provide funtionality for my fitness.

I agree only reason for the Fitbit was to download music to my watch. What a total let down.

What will happen as I experienced it myself if your posts gets too dicey they will lock the thread and it will fade into history. As I posted many times in this forum, you can't trust Google, so move on to a different vendor as I will do once my Sense 1 has given up its ghost.

A company that is rapidly spiralling down hill. The countdown continues to the day I move away from FitBit for good.

So here we have finally the first participation of a moderator to this discussion that is actually quite serious. There isn't not a single explanation about the decision and how Fitbit intends to make up for removal of features
